JUNO: what are you married to ? where are your betrayal issues ?

Juno is one of four asteroids (amongst hundreds) now used by many Western astrologers to cover territory beyond what the planets represent. These four asteroids have been given names of goddesses and Juno, or Hera, was the wife of Zeus (or Jupiter). The goddess Juno was devoted to the cause of Marriage but she was also married to a powerful and philandering god who betrayed her often. Rather than punish her husband and destroy their marriage, Juno unleashed her revenge on the endless chain of Zeus' other women. Juno was a very powerful goddess.

I understand astrological Juno as a way to examine compatibility between lovers and their differing betrayal differs. In the natal chart Juno can be a strong indication of the Internal Marriage of what you are already married to, what conditions must be maintained for that marriage to continue and the kind of betrayal you feel when these conditions are violated.

Natal Juno also acts as a kind of template, or prototype, for the kind of external marriage (or long-term relationship) that we are capable of, given that the conditions of our internal marriage are met and not betrayed by the partner or the relationship structure itself. Each and every marriage has its own specific conditions for continuing over time. These conditions are signified by the sign and house placement of natal Juno.

For example, if you have Juno in Taurus or the 2nd House, you are probably married to your values and material security. Successful marriage to someone else depends on finding a partner who acknowledges your values and your worth and with whom you can build a relationship that preserves the inner marriage to your worth. When your values are ignored or violated (by you and/or your lover), a sense of betrayal can detabilize the external marriage.

Everybody's married to something. Some people are married to their families, others are married to their work, while some of us are married to ourselves. If you can find an Asteroid Ephemeris (there's one in the back of Demetra George's wonderful book, ASTEROID GODDESSES), look up Juno and see what you're married to.

My Juno is in Aquarius conjunct North Node in 3rd House.
I am married to my "calling" which is a life-long process of acting as a translator, or messenger, of spiritual experience (9th House South Node) into a language that people can understand. An example is what you are reading right now. I am married to my cause of communicating what I know to you. My feelings of betrayal in longterm relationships can rise when my real-life wife fails to realize how important communication really is to me. This betrayal is usually healed right after honest communication is restored.

Mine is in the 1st, conjunct my Jupiter and square Venus/Mars until April. But I digress... Mars transits in the 1st can also sometimes make you ill, and I am down with a virus, though I am rarely sick. I take this transit as an unwelcome one also because Jupiter rules my MC and I don't need Mars mucking that area of my life up any more via the Jupiter conjunction square to natal Mars.

The Real 2012

Venus trine Pluto anyone?

Maybe it's the Cancer moon in my solar fifth house and Venus entering Aquarius (makes me think about my pseudo ex who was an Aquarius) but I'm just feeling really bummed about the relationship issues I went through last year. I'm a Pisces and Virgo rising and just feel like I got CRUSHED by last year's eclipses-most which highlighted my relationship sector (even though they F#%$ up other things as well). I also have Pisces in my natal 7th house. Also Saturn was in my solar fifth house all year.

The lunar on March 14th was four days from my birthday and aspected Pluto, as did the solar on March 29. Two weeks after March's lunar one of my relationships (with a Scorpio guy) ended. Only to come back and mess up an already messed up relationship (with an Aquarius guy) all summer when all the planets were retrograde and I wanted to kill myself. The drama finally began to end (as in climaxed) around the eclipse on September 7th and even though Sept. 22nd's solar eclipse brought good news, two weeks later the relationship I'd really been fighting for but was racked with issues anyway (with the Aquarius guy) ended-INTENSELY. He was intense (something I thought I'd never see even though he has a Leo moon) but I was cold and ended it flat, which I heard is the best way to break up with an Aquarius if you don't want them to come back as "friends" and weasel their way back into your life. I regretted this but knew it was for the best and that most likely a product of the eclipse so what was done was done. This last break was the most affecting.

Anyway the Scorpio guy just wouldn't quit and I couldn’t let him go because he was one of my good friends. I guess he took it upon himself to wedge his way back into my life, but he’s just WAY too emotional for me, INTENSE all around, and so that just ended, FOR REAL THIS TIME, on the 1st of this month.

Well back to Venus trine Pluto. I have Venus in Pisces trine Pluto in Scorpio and I really feel transformed by my emotional experiences. But last year was just a little too intense. I'm sure it had to do with the eclipses and Pluto and all. The Aquarius guy really did a number on my mind and sexually (great sex!) and the Scorpio guy did a number on EVERYTHING and I was just wondering if anyone else has this aspect in their natal chart and/or if their relationships, love and/or emotional life were really effected by last year's eclipses.

Just something I got off the net that really explains this trine for me:

Mars Conjunct Neptune

Can anyone help me understand the relationship between these two planets? I have been single for several years and almost every man I meet has a drug or alcohol problem. The only person I met without such a problem seemed to have a sex addiction (just couldn't be faithful). Needless to say none of the relationships last very long. Also, there is always a very big gap in between relationships (1 to 1-1/2 years on average). Does this conjunction suggest relationships involving this type of behavior. Funny thing, I thought it meant I would have a relationship with: a religious person; a doctor; etc. I know that the conjunction semi-squares venus in sag. Also, the conjunction is septile jupiter/pluto on one side and venus on the other. Isn't the septile supposed to be similar to a trine?

Today is my opposite day! Sun/Moon/Mercury are all in opposition to my Sun/Moon/Mercury.

Happy X-Mas peeps. Mine has been the whole month of December - I got out of county......5 months later on the 3rd of this month. So I celebrate everyday. One day of coal for 364 days of fun is what Im sayin lol Christ! I had peace and quiet the last 4 months. So I am wondering about the North Node in Capricorn/Saturn in Libra. Its all in my First! Blah. Keep on gettin in these intense relationships with Sags, Capricorns, Libras, Aries, and Leos over the past 3 weeks. Lots of Fire!

Jupiter Neptune Chiron conjunction

Brittany Murphy's chart

I was very surprised and curious about this actress' death. I remember her in a few films, and I always though her mood was heavy. I wasn't particularly intrigued by her acting, just her aura, it was 'intense.' Not sure how many of you remember her, but there was this one movie, black book, that was suppose to be funny, but she was, well out of place in this one (heavy, I think is the word that comes to mind). Interesting point of view on the Sun and Moon

I just read another bit of one of Dane Rudhyar's articles on astrology, and came across his explanations for the Sun and Moon in a woman's chart, and a man's chart.

And according to him, the Sun in a woman's chart shows the types of traits she looks for in a man. Also, the tightest/strongest aspect the Sun makes to a planet further shapes the personality type of the man she looks for.

On the other hand, the Moon, according to him shows the type of woman you admire in youth as well as the type of mother you'll become.

He also says that Venus shows the type of woman you strive to be.

However, I think his view is kinda skewed. Because he says that a Man's Sun is what he strives to be, so shouldn't the Moon show that in a woman's chart?

Well, anyway, my feel on the matter is that the Moon in a woman's chart is closest to her true essence. I noticed this not only in my own chart, but of other women I know, as well.

I find it incredibly ironical, however, that in my chart, the Sun has such a feminine expression-being in Pisces, conjunct Venus and loosely trine Pluto, whereas my Moon is so masculine in expression-being in Gemini, tightly conjunct Mars and Jupiter, and square Mercury.
Like..that explains why I'm seen as kinda "eccentric" in my personality expression.

People are often surprised that, although I usually adopt a very feminine demeanor(Venus in Pisces?), I fiercely reject typical manly-men. Any man that shows even the slightest hint of a subconscious urge to dominate me not only puts me off, but most often ends up pissing me off, as well. I feel like the desire to dominate shows not only crude disrespect towards other people's expressions of will, but also serious psychological issues regarding self-esteem..I mean, in my book, a person who tries to dominate me is either just looking to feed their own ego, or, most often the case, aren't confident that they can take me in "open battle".

And I've always felt drawn to extremely emotional, mysterious, hopelessly romantic men, with soft mannerisms and self-possessed.

But Rudhyar says women with their Suns in a feminine sign are not gonna look for manly men because "there is less in them to subdue", or something like that..which is really confusing...I mean, I have this very masculine Moon...which wants to have its own way?

How does that blend with the theory that a woman's Moon conjunct a man's Sun makes a "match made in Heaven"?

And what does it mean if your feminine planets are mostly masculine, and your masculine planets are mostly feminine?

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that no man is feminine enough for me.

Frequencies of Various Aspects and House and Sign Positions in the
Horoscopes of Murderers, Serial Killers, and Mass Murderers as Compared
to Control Groups, Part III

In Part I, an initial examination was made of single factors the horoscopes of sixty killers and sixty single murderers (those who killed only one victim). In Part II, combinations of factors were examined for the serial killer group alone. In both papers, the results were compared against control groups. Recently, birth data became available on 38 additional serial killers. This article reports on the next step: comparison of the previous results against data from the new group to see if any factors are replicated.

Research Criteria:
With one exception, these are the same as in the first two papers. An arbitrary standard was set. Only results 50% or greater above those expected by random chance would be considered significant. A slight change has been made for the aspects. Research was originally done with
the CCRS program, which had the ability to set orbs for each aspect individually. The other programs used (Astrodatabank, v.3 and the Astroinvestigator) set orb size the same for all aspects. The orbs were originally set as follows: + or 5 degrees for the conjunction (0 degrees) and opposition (180 degrees) aspects, and + or 4 degrees for the square aspect (90 degrees). In order to simplify matters, the orb for the square was reset for + or 5 degrees. This changed the result expected by random chance alone from 10% to 11.1%. The results from the
first two papers (both from the samples and the controls) have been recalculated to reflect this.

Henri Landru, the French bluebeard. Married and murdered 10
women. No bodies were ever recovered.
Claude Lastennet, a serial killer of old women. On at least one
occasion, he tasted the victim’s blood.
Emile Louis raped and murdered young women in France.
Charles Manson who ordered his followers to commit the Tate and
La Bianca murderers
Jean-Thiery Mathurin who, with his partner Thierry Paulin (see
below) killed at least 31 elderly people.
Dorthea Montalvo killed elderly boarders in her rooming house,
buried them, and continued to receive their Social Security checks.
Hera Myrtel killed several lovers and husbands.
Thierry Paulin was the accomplice of Jean-Thiery Mathurin
(above).
Michele Profeta killed a real estate agent and a cab driver.
Carlos Puch killed at least 14 people in Argentina.
Pascal Raffin, arsonist responsible for at least three deaths.
Jean-Claude Romand, a swindler who first killed his wife and
two children, and then killed his parents.
Ferdinand Schoerner, a Nazi general who had many of his own
troops executed for the slightest infraction.

killer who specialized in backpacking tourists.

Jean-Baptiste Troppmann, killed a man and his son, and then
later killed the widow and the remaining children.

Comparison of Results for Serial Killer Groups I and II
Sign Positions: The odds of a particular planet being in any particular house or sign by random chance alone is approximately 1/12. Sign positions of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were not used, as their lengthy orbital periods would tend to give skewed results. For the first group of sixty cases, the random chance result would be 5 out of the sixty. For the second group of thirty-eight cases, the random chance result would be 3.17. To get a result 50% higher would require 7.5 in the first case (rounded off to 8) and 4.755 in the second case (rounded off to 5). For the combined results of all 99 cases, the random result is 8.17 and 50% higher than that is 12.25 (rounded off to
13).

The second group of serial killers gave low results in several cases. However, for some of these, the combined total of both groups was at 50% (or better) above chance. These were counted as hits. In some cases, the first sample gave results below the 50% criterion, but the second group gave results far enough above to push the total above the mark. These were also counted as hits.

The Sun in Gemini or Capricorn, and the Moon in Capricorn made the cut again with 13 cases each. Sun in Sagittarius gave only 12 hits, as did the Moon in either Sagittarius of Pisces. This is a borderline result, and while it cannot be counted here, it is very close and (IMO) should still be tested for when future samples become available.

The surprise was Mercury in Scorpio. The smaller second group gave a larger result than the first group. 10 out of 39 had Mercury placed here (which is 25.6%, over two and a half times the result expected by random chance) as opposed to 9 out of 60 for the first group.

Mars in Aries, which showed up in the first group, did not make the cut here. Mars in Leo replaced it with 13 hits for the combined group. Jupiter in Scorpio hung on with 13 hits.

Of course, no conclusions can be drawn at this preliminary stage, but these results are interesting because astrologers have tended to classify Mercury and Jupiter as mental planets. They are alleged to affect one’s thinking. Mercury is alleged to show a persons ability to deal with details, while Jupiter is supposed to indicate one’s ability to deal in principles, to get the big picture. In these samples, they both give above average results when they are found in the sign that astrologers claim is associated with death.

Full results for sign placements are in Table I.

House Positions:
The Sun, Moon, and Mercury showed no results by house. Venus no longer gave above random results for the 6th house but now did for the 11th house. The outer planets were more consistent.

The following gave results equal to or greater than the cutoff point of 50% above random:

Mars in the 7th house.
Jupiter in the 10th house.
Saturn in the 1st house (gave above average results for both
groups).
Saturn in the 6th house (gave above average results for both
groups).
Uranus in the 8th house.
Neptune in the 7th house (gave above average results for both groups).
Neptune in the 12th house (gave above average results for both groups).
Pluto in the 10th house.
Pluto in the 11th house.
All told, fourteen of the original sign and house indicators still showed positive results for the combined group.

Full results for house placements are in Table II.

Aspects:

The numbers change here. The random result would be 1 out of 9, not 1 out of 12 as with the signs and houses. To get a result that is at least 50% higher than chance would require at least 10 hits for the first group and 6.3 for the second. The aspects that passed this test
for the first group were tested against the second. However, other aspects were also run. On several occasions, the second group yielded results that were high enough for the combined total to be 50% above chance (15 hits out of a total of 98 cases) and these were also listed.

The following results were obtained:

In 31 cases, both groups yielded results that met our criterion of 50% or more above random.

In 20 cases, one group yielded below random results, but the total met the 50% or more criterion. In 17 of those cases, the first group yielded results that were enough above the 50% mark to bring the total to at least 50%. In the remaining three cases, it was the second group
that did so. A total of 51 aspects met the criterion of 50% or more above chance.

In 10 cases, the total for the two control groups reached the 50% or better mark.

Some of the aspects were:

Sun in stress aspect to Pluto. Pluto is alleged by astrologers
to rule death.
Sun in conjunction with the Venus/Mars midpoint.
Moon (emotions) in stress aspect to Mars. According to the astrological literature (which is anecdotal) this can give a shortened temper.
Moon in stress aspect to the Ascendant.
Mercury to Mars.
Mercury to Chiron.
Mars to the Moon’s North Node.
Mars to the Sun/Uranus midpoint.
Mars to the Neptune/Pluto midpoint.
Jupiter to the Venus/Ceres midpoint.
Jupiter to the Ceres/Pluto midpoint.
Saturn to Chiron.
Saturn to the 12th house cusp.
Chiron to the Mars/Pluto midpoint.
Chiron to the Venus/Neptune midpoint.
Uranus to the Ceres/Chiron midpoint.
Uranus to the Pluto/Vertex midpoint.
Neptune to the Mars/Vertex midpoint.
Neptune to the Mars/Ceres midpoint.
Neptune to the Mars/Pluto midpoint.
Pluto to the Moon/Venus midpoint.
Pluto to the Uranus/Vertex midpoint.

Conclusions:

This is still a work in progress. While it is true that several of the results from the first two papers were duplicated in the second group and the test groups gave five times as many hits as the control groups, it is still possible that the results are nothing but a fluke. However, with results from two separate groups of the horoscopes of serial killers, we now have 6 sign placements, 9 house placements, and 22 aspects that can be tested for in future studies.

Jupiter in Scorpio - The Criminal Mind.

This is an area I have never got into, but looking at some of the Criminal Minds with Jupiter in Scorpio. It's something that needs to be looked at.

I was just reading up on Ted Bundy. On one of his victims, he sexually assualted a woman with a Speculum. Sex is a key issue regarding this Astrological type. But in this instance, it was an act of violence rather than intimacy.

What's useful in knowing that is, how Jupiter in Scorpio exercise power and control. Most people never enact out their fantasies. But a few bring it into reality. For them, killing is an aphrodisiac.

I read earlier that Jupiter in Scorpio can either be the cure or the cause. They are certainly powerful types, who can influence many.

Al Capone through Bootlegging, Racketeering and Prostitution, became the Crime Boss of Chicago. He ruled through sparking terror and creating fear.

I haven't seen it yet by Natal position, but when Jupiter has been transiting through Scorpio, the emergence of Pedophile rings attracts attention. There has also been a great deal of attention focused on Women, who have been in positions of trust as well. It's not just applicable to Men.Whether Natally or by transit, it just goes to show us how power and influence can be abused

What triggers these influences. is it enviromental. A lack of emotional support. Or is it that some people just like doing these thing's for the pleasure.

Another example was the notorious Nazi Dr Joseph Mengele. He was known as "The Angel of Death". He performed experiements on Auschwitz Prisoners and Children. He was fascinated by identical Twins. He also directed Sterilisations of Women and Shock Treatments. He supervised who did and didn't go to the Gas Chambers.

There have been some good Surgeons with Jupiter in Scorpio. But Mengele was an extreme example of violating standards of Medical practice. It has remained contraversial to this day. Just how far does Medical Science have the right to go.

A Detrimented Love

A planet in detriment is in the sign that is opposite of its true nature. I've noticed that a lot of men/ women with Venus in Aries or Scorpio (in detriment), or Mars in Libra or Taurus (in detriment) are given attractive qualities to others, but at the same time often have difficulty in love. Many famous men and women have these placements, some of them taken to be the most enigmatic in cinematic history. More often than not it appears that these people's love lives are/were in the tabloids, and while they may have had memorable love affairs, they were often short and unsatisfying for them in the end. Some of their relationships were also abusive (Rihanna is a recent example).

Venus in Detriment
Venus is the planet of love and partnership - it likes to operate with others and is diplomatic in nature. Venus in detriment grants stronger Mars influences (both Aries and Scorpio are signs that rule over Mars), which makes it less compromising, more independent and dominant over others. It is in a sign of the individual vs. relating with others. Venus in Aries likes conquests, games, challenges, crushes, etc. but commitments are harder and they often come on too strong and scare the other partner away. Like with Aries, Venus in Scorpio can also like games and frighten partners, but they are of a different nature. Venus in Scorpio is very private, which is opposed to Venus' open nature. It can also want for power, have an inability to trust, and be dark and manipulative/vengeful. Both signs can be more sexual than your standard Venus.

Mars in Detriment
Mars is the planet of drive, passion and sex - active and focused (often on the self or a single purpose). Mars in detriment grants stronger Venus infulences (both Libra and Taurus are signs that rule over Venus), which makes it more controlled vs. moving (in Taurus) and two-sided or even passive vs. single-minded (in Libra). Mars in Taurus is prevented from making compulsive moves (in anything - love, career, etc.), even when it knows the right thing to do, so it worries and thinks about things. In Libra, Mars is fast-moving, which it likes, but it is more diplomatic and indecisive (it cares what other people think/want), so it often does not take action.

Almost the end of the year. I was at a Astrology Meetup and this was one date they spent some time on The moon is conjunct Chiron 22 Aquarius in the 5th house of creativity. There is also a Chiron, Neptune, Jupiter, Moon stellium (3 or more plants colse together) in Aquarius in the 1st house - which represents our self.

They suggested not to start new things during this significant lunar void of course period on the 21st since the Moon deals with connections and void of course is not connecting.

What I'm wondering is, are there any theories that look at the meaning of each degree without consideration of the sign it's in? Sort of like in the Tarot, where aces represent an initial impulse, regardless of the suit. That basic meaning is then applied to the suit (or in astrology, the sign).

give you a new life. It is not simply to make improvements or to sweeten it with a sense of spiritual meaning or to condone your thoughts and beliefs and past actions with some kind of blessing from above.

At some point you will come to realize that the life you are living is really not appropriate for you. It is a compromise. And the compromise has been too great. It has been too thorough. It is a compromise with how you regard yourself, how you regard others, how you regard the world. And though this realization may be resisted, maybe it will be denied, and further compromises will be sought, in actuality it represents the beginning of a great hope for you.

For God knows that without Knowledge, the deeper intelligence that has been placed within you, you would live a life of compromise. You would seek compromise for security, for approval, for wealth and advantage. You would seek compromise in order to avoid ridicule or criticism or condemnation or even social rejection. Compromise would permeate everything, from your beliefs, your attitudes, your aspirations, your activities, your plans, your goals. And this would increase to a point where you really had lost contact with who and what you are.

Now you have become a product of your society, a product of the expectations of society, a product of your own personal thinking, but you have lost contact with the deeper thread and meaning of your life. And even if you are successful and achieve your goals, it will be empty, and the joy would be short lived, and they will come at a great price of time, energy, effort, and the rewards will be momentary and fleeting.

This realization, which is so denied and avoided, is the beginning of a greater promise for you. Do not resist it. Do not argue against it. Do not complain that you may have to make great changes in your life. Of course you will! Because you are being given a new life—not a slightly better rendition of your old life, not simply new scenery or new faces or new forms of stimulation. This is not a cosmetic change. This is a change of a far greater importance and depth and meaning for you. This is the kind of change your heart has been yearning for for so long. For such a long time have you been laboring.

And now it seems to come to nothing. It seems you have failed the expectations of your culture. You might even feel you are a failure, that you have not fulfilled the goals and expectations of your family, your culture and even your religion. But in this seeming failure is a promise of a greater success. The old life must fail you or you must fail it in order to have this new opportunity, this opening in your life, this new beginning.

Many people simply want to have revelation as if it is some kind of appendage to their old life, like spirituality is like a seasoning to the tastelessness of their life. It is something they are going to add on. Now they are going to be spiritual and do spiritual things and think spiritual thoughts and do activities that look edifying and uplifting, But again, this is all for approval. This is all to seek more pleasure, more comfort, more security. The motivation for it is no different from the motivation that guides one to seek wealth and pleasure and escape from life. It is not authentic. And as a result, it does not yield an authentic result. We are speaking of something very different here.

And this new life, you don't know what it means yet. You don't know what it will look like yet because it is new. It is not your invention. It is not what you are accustomed to. And so you begin to turn this corner very slowly. Even if there are major events in your life that have brought this awareness to you, well, the journey has many steps, to allow you time to learn and to adapt and to gain a deeper foundation of confidence within yourself so that your life may become inner directed as opposed to outer directed, that you may become a person of power and strength and integrity, instead of someone who is mimicking the values of their cultures.

Here many things will have to be learned anew. They will have to be re-evaluated. Many of your thoughts will have to be reconsidered. Many of your firmly held beliefs will have to be questioned and in some cases even set aside. This is the price of freedom. This is the price one pays for having the opportunity to live a greater life, an authentic life, a life that is in keeping with Knowledge within themselves, a life that fulfills the destiny that they were sent into the world to fulfill.

Until this turning point, you are only half alive. Yes, your heart is beating, and the blood is flowing through your veins, and your senses are reporting the world around you, and you are going through the motions of your life, meeting responsibilities and obligations and trying to seek some form of pleasure or reprieve. But it is an empty existence. The real meaning and value of your life has not yet been discovered. Up until this point, Knowledge, the deeper intelligence that God has placed within you to guide and protect you, will try to keep you from harm, will try to keep you and hold you back from making serious and long lasting mistakes and commitments that will be in opposition to your ability to discover and to live a greater life in the future.

Here at this earlier stage Knowledge will seem latent within you, but really it is still trying to keep you out of trouble and to prevent you from giving your life away to another or to situations or to places, to people, to keep your life open. Many people are in this earlier stage of course. The emergence has not happened for them yet. When it will happen and how it will happen and even if it will happen is something you cannot tell. It is a mystery.

You see, before this emergence, you really are just building a foundation to become a functional person in the world. You are building life skills. You are experiencing the pleasures and the pains of this world. You are seeking pleasure and avoiding pain and finding disappointment along the way. This early preparation can be extremely important for what you will be able to realize, to accomplish and to communicate to others in the future. Even the most foolish mistakes you will make in this early stage can be very important in giving you wisdom, teaching you what is real, to value what is real, to help you discern what looks good from what is good, to help you discern what is good from what only looks good, to help you to discern your real inclinations from those impulses that represent your weakness and insecurity.

Perhaps in this earlier stage you will feel there is a Presence watching over you at times. You will sense there is a Presence with you. And you will think from time to time that there is something greater for you to do in life, but the realization has not really struck yet. It has not really rocked your foundation. It is only something you think about at the level of your intellect. It has not really penetrated your heart.

Your failures and your disillusionment here hold great promise for you. Your disappointments in yourself and in others and in the great pleasures for which you have paid such a great price, well, this paves the way for this realization. And this realization will not simply be a fleeting moment. It will be something that will change the course of your life, and you will not understand what has happened to you or the nature and purpose of the change until you have traveled afar in the second stage of your journey.

The guidelines for how to live that will be given here relate to this second stage of the journey of your life. They do not really refer to people who have not passed through this great threshold, who have not experienced this turning point. To them it will seem beneficial but confusing. It will seem restraining. It will challenge their idea of freedom. It will seem to require too much effort and responsibility because they are not yet ready to make this effort or to assume this responsibility. They are still trying to get out of life what they want, beyond their basic needs. They are trying to get out of life what they want. They do not yet realize that they were sent into the world for a purpose. They have no memory of their Ancient Home, and so they think this life is all important, it is everything. They want to live for the moment, for themselves. And so it is a very different awareness that one begins to gain after this great threshold. And the guidelines for living here become not only helpful but essential for success.

The first requirement is to accept the great change that is happening and to leave the explanation open. You will not be able to understand it. Your intellect is referenced to your past and former life. It cannot account for what is occurring with you now, and for the impulses that you feel now, and for the orientation that is slowly emerging within you. Your intellect will try but will be unsuccessful at comprehending the meaning of this.

Some people try to go backwards here. They want to go back to whatever they thought gave them a sense of security and stability, self-assurance, but unfortunately they have gone too far now, for those attempts will be seen as empty, only pulling them back to a former life that they found unfulfilling—lacking in meaning, purpose and value. Now they are embarking on a new kind of journey, and they cannot define it.

Therefore, allow this change to occur. Do not try to define it. Do not even use ideas from other spiritual traditions to try to define it. Allow it to be a mystery, for to you it will be a mystery. Mystery exists beyond the realm of the intellect. Honor this. Accept this. The Mystery is now beginning to emerge in your life, whereas before it was held back. Before, there was nowhere in your life for it to come forth, to guide you, to bless you and to prepare you. Now the Mystery is beginning to emerge. Let this happen.

You will become confused about what to do regarding your relationships with people, primarily, and secondarily, your relationship with where you live, the work that you do, your activities, your hobbies, your interests and so forth. Let this confusion exist. It is healthy. It is natural. It is part of the transition, You are building a bridge to a new life. You are not yet fully living that new life. You are building a bridge. You are in transition. Transitions are confusing because you are moving from one understanding to another understanding, from one experience of life to another experience of life. The transitions mean that you cannot go back, and you have not gone far enough to go fully forward, so you have to be on this bridge, going through this transition.

Leave your future open. Set aside plans beyond what you must do to simply maintain yourself in the world. Here you must have trust that clarity will come, and clarity will come when you feel that you are prepared to move forward and are willing to move forward into new territory. As long as you hesitate, well, the clarity will not come. As long as you are bargaining and trying to work out some kind of deal to keep something from your old life, the certainty will not come. The clarity will not come because you have not yet turned that corner. It is like the answer is around the side of the mountain, and you have to go around that mountain to find it.

This is confusing for the intellect, but now the intellect must yield to a greater power within you, the power that God has put within you to guide you and to bless you and to prepare you for this greater life. You will still have to be very responsible in what you do and what you commit yourself to, in what you assign yourself to in life, in how you use your time and energy and so forth, but there is something greater moving in you now.

Next, do not go tell all your friends and family, for they will not understand. Unless one of them has turned this corner, they will think you are being foolish or they will think that something bad has happened to you or that you have been influenced by something that they are suspicious of. They might even think you have gone mad! Therefore, you must keep this new experience to yourself as much as possible. If you are fortunate, there will be one person, either within your family currently or someone you will meet who will give you a sign to move forward. You will want to share your new experiences, and the strangeness and the wonder of those thoughts and ideas that are coming to you, and of the change that you are feeling that is liberating you from the past, but you must be very careful who you share this with, for others will not understand, and their lack of understanding and their criticism and condemnation will really hurt you and rob you of confidence.

To move from being an outer directed person to being an inner directed person is a tremendous change, and you will feel very shaky at first. You will not feel very strong. You will be very uncertain of what you are doing. You will be like the little tender shoot in the great forest that must be protected until it gains enough strength to stand upon its own. So there are dangers at this beginning, at this early part of your journey—premature conclusions, indiscretion with others, self-doubts, the attempt to try to define your life—all these things are dangers because they can prevent you from proceeding onward, and once this journey begins, you must proceed onward. This is so important! Imagine that you are climbing a great mountain, well, once you begin to gain a little altitude, well, you do not want to have to go back. You need to go forward.

The Knowledge that God has placed within you will urge you to go onward, to keep your eyes open, your ears open, to be very watchful, to be very careful. Do not think that God is going to protect you now from every form of harm and prevent injury and disappointment and tragedy for you. You must be very careful. This is part of gaining a greater awareness. Previously, you were not careful. You were reckless. You were foolish, impulsive. Now you must become watchful, discerning, patient, careful. In doing this, you will see how you have been wasting your life, your time, your energy, over meaningless pursuits and over thinking that would never lead to resolution—self-doubt, self-recrimination, judgment of others—and the immensely superficial conversation that most people continue to maintain around you.

Next, you must gather your resources and conserve your energy so that you have time to be alone, to learn to be still and to listen. You will seek quiet now more than stimulation. You will find that the social activities around you will be aggravating and irritating to you, for you need something else now. You need to listen. You need to be quiet. You need to gain a greater connection to this emerging power within yourself.

This will change your priorities. This will change your desires. This will affect your decisions. And you will find that you will no longer be interested in doing things with other people that you did before. Things which were never really very fulfilling, now you will just want to avoid. You will see their emptiness, and you will not want them, and they will be an aggravation to you. And the pettiness and superficiality of people's conversations, and their habitual condemnation of others, you will find to be aggravating. This is natural.

This is what it means to come home to yourself, to find your real values, your real priorities, your natural inclinations as opposed to everything that has been conditioned into you. You will seek time away from other people. You will seek time alone. You will not want to have constant stimulation. You will need the confidence to do this. Most people cannot sit still for more than five seconds before they are driven out of themselves again. Here you must sit and listen. Gaze at nature. Listen to the sounds of the world, the natural world.

You will see here how your energy—your mental energy and your physical energy—have been misappropriated in the past, and you will want to conserve them, for you need them now. You are gathering your strength. You are gathering your resources. You are not throwing your life away. You want to plug up all the holes where your ship is leaking, where you are losing ground to others or to situations—through habit or through the designs of others.

The New Message will speak to you here, for it is imbued with the power and the mystery of God. And it is this power and this mystery that is drawing you now, for what is really happening in your life is that God is moving in you. God is moving you. But this movement is a freedom from things at the outset. You have to disengage. You cannot take an old life into a new life, and so you are going through an incremental disengagement. Part of this disengagement is physical. It has to do with your activities and involvement with others, but much of it is internal. It is your ideas. It is your compulsions. It is what you think you should do. It is what you think you should be or you should have or how you should be with others. For this is where the social conditioning really takes place.

And every day you move forward, you break these chains. They have less and less power over you. As you move up the mountain, the draw and the attraction of the lowlands is left behind, and you become freer and lighter and less burdened with the expectations of others and with your own needs that were never genuine to begin with.

During this time, limit your exposure to the media. Do not read a lot of books. Do not go to movies unless they are really inspirational, for you are gathering your strength. You are calling your strength to you. You are conserving your energy. You are paying attention to the inside now more than to the outside. You are moving away from the racket of the world. Allow this. Follow this. Strengthen this. For this is a natural inclination.

If there are long-standing friendships and they cannot follow you now, you will have to let them go, lovingly. They will fall away from you, for they cannot go this far up the mountain yet. You are going further than they can go yet. You have turned a corner they have not turned.

The most difficult thing in the early stages is people's obligation to others, to their friends, their family. The only exception to this obligation is the raising of your children, which you must do until they reach adulthood. But to all others, your relationship is now put into doubt. There are circumstances where you will have to care for an elderly or infirm parent, and that is appropriate. But beyond this, you are building your allegiance to God, and that will challenge your allegiance to others and their hold upon you. For many people, this is the most difficult challenge, the first great threshold in their preparation.

Do not explain yourself to others. Just say that there are deeper currents in your life and you are trying to follow them. There is deeper movement within your heart and you are trying to follow that. Tell them that you need time alone, time of quiet, time of retreat, time of re-evaluation. And do not feel that you must respond to their persistent questions. You do not have to give them answers. Spare yourself the agony of trying to do this.

It is important here that you not have firm beliefs. You do not need to accept firm beliefs. You are looking for a deeper experience now. The experience will be your foundation, not firm beliefs. You are escaping firm beliefs. You are venturing into a greater realm of revelation and natural experience. Everyone at the bottom of the mountain is entertaining firm beliefs, but firm beliefs do not enable you to get up this mountain and do not enable you to gain a higher elevation where you can see the truth of life around you as it will become evident. Do not adopt firm beliefs. If you feel insecure, if you are unsure of yourself, it is fine; it is natural. Let the explanation be open. Do not attach yourself to a whole new set of beliefs. That is like going from one prison cell to another. Oh, it is a new place! But it is the same condition. Oh, it is new and exciting and reassuring, but it is the same old condition.

Allow the steps to reveal to you what the journey really is. It is not a journey that is understood by theorists or pundits or philosophers, idealists, academics or the general public. It is more of a mystical path, a deeper journey. Its revelations will happen beyond the intellect, for it is not an intellectual journey. Your intellect will grow to accommodate it. And you will learn over time to gain a greater perspective and greater wisdom about many things. But an intellectual journey it is not, for the intellect is a human invention. What created you and sent you into the world is not a human invention. What will reveal the greater life that you are destined to live and to fulfill is not a human invention. But it requires human participation, human wisdom, human ability, human trust, human discernment in order to manifest.

Here you do not give all your power away to God, thinking that God is going to guide you in everything. That is ridiculous! Here you give yourself a greater authority within yourself that is not of your own making, but this authority requires that you become responsible, that you become honest, that you become self-determined. It will require you to follow things that are mysterious, but most of the time you will have to be doing very practical things.

If you are in a relationship and you have children, do not make any sudden moves in your life. Build the strength first. Build the connection to Knowledge within yourself. Learn to listen. Take retreat. Follow your natural inclinations. Share only part of the Mystery with your husband or wife, for they may not be able to understand. Ask that they give you this time and this confidence, for things are emerging within your heart. Maintain your duties and responsibilities, but take time to be with the Presence of Knowledge within yourself. Take time to take the steps to Knowledge, to study the Steps to Knowledge and to place yourself in a position where they can reveal their greater truth to you.

Tell your children that there is a Greater Power within them that will guide and protect them if they listen. Share with them your insights. But do not go too far in trying to share everything, for you are trying to build strength, and if you try to share everything, you are giving your strength away. Do not try to take care of other people beyond your children or an elderly parent here, for you are gaining strength within yourself. You are learning to conserve your energy. You are fasting now, holding yourself back from giving yourself away everywhere, holding yourself in reserve.

Do not make any sudden decisions about your primary relationships if you are married with children, for in most cases it will be premature. A marriage here will be greatly challenged. Whether it can proceed will be determined by many things, which you may not be able to ascertain in the moment.

Your task is to follow the emergence of Knowledge within yourself, to be true to that, to be the recipient, to pull yourself in, to take the time it takes for a great emergence to happen within you. And do not be impatient, for it will emerge in its own time. You do not yet realize the magnitude of what is happening or how great its possibilities for the future will be.

Limit the influences around you. Be silent with those who proclaim themselves or have great judgments upon the world. Do not enter into debate at this point. Do not contend with others. Do not argue the issues. Do not assert your ideas. That is not important now and will be counterproductive for you.

The power and the presence of Knowledge is emerging within you. That is the most important thing. You are learning to become strong and inner directed within yourself. That is the most important thing. Maintain your duties. Provide for your children. But hold this as the most important thing, for ultimately your greatest relationship is with God. Your greatest responsibility is to the Knowledge that God has placed within you to respond to, to follow and to express. This is an unparalleled freedom, but it requires great inner strength and forbearance.

These are guidelines for the beginning steps. Beyond this, you must learn to build the Four Pillars of your life—the Pillar of Relationships, the Pillar of Work, the Pillar of Health and the Pillar of Spiritual Development. You must learn of the Greater Community. You must learn about the Mental Environment. You must learn about relationships and higher purpose. This is all awaiting you. But first you must build the foundation, for without this foundation, you will not be able to penetrate the greater meaning, importance and application of these revelations that are contained within the New Message from God.

The foundation is so very important and requires great patience and forbearance. It is this patience and forbearance that will shift your allegiance away from your intellect and the admonitions of others to a Greater Power within you—the power of Knowledge, the power of God. You will never comprehend this power fully. You can never claim it for yourself. You will never be a master of it. You can never use it to try to be better than others. You cannot use it to get what you want. You cannot use it to gain wealth and power and pleasure. You can only learn to follow it and learn of the great journey up the mountain that was always prepared for you.

Astrology of Pets

I was going back through my mind about the Dogs my Parents had. They all had distinct and unique personalities.

The last Dog they had was a West Highland Terrier. He was an inquistive Gemini and a character. he wanted to know everything going on.

We had an Aquarian German Shepherd. He could be a bit dfficult.

Then we had a Pisces German Shepherd, whom had been badly treated by her previous owner and attacked by his Doberman. She was a Rsecue and a nervous wreck when she first came to us aged 10 months. She realised she was in a good home, and quickly relaxed. She was very protective of us. She'd pull the blanket over me at night if it slipped off. She could also change the TV channels on the remote control. She also had a thing for Scott Joplin Music being played in the Car, and would move her head from side to side.

We had an Aries Golden Retriever. He tried to rescue our Piscean German Shepherd, when she slipped through some ice on a lake. She became very close to him after that.

We had a Leo Golden Labrador. He used to put a rolled up Newspaper in his mouth. He would wag his tail and growl with delight. He was so proud of himself.

I don think that Astrology can apply to Animals..

January 2010 Solar Eclipse

On January 15, 2010 there is an annual solar eclipse of the Sun, at the new moon of Capricorn. This eclipse occurs at 25°01' of Capricorn, the sign of the Sea Goat, in conjunction with Venus on the day that Mercury turns direct after several weeks of retrograde motion. So it should be beneficent and pleasurable, releasing built-up tension, and leading strongly towards a brand new beginning for the world and its people.

Astrologically, solar eclipses signify the fall of the mighty (or at least, they're in big trouble!). Depending where in the zodiac the eclipse occurs, stress is always placed on the matters governed by that sign, or sector of the zodiac. A powerful Solar Eclipse can create massive havoc, in accordance with other aspects in the heavens at the time, as can be clearly seen by the trail of earthquakes and other disasters associated with the Solar Eclipse and Grand Cross of August 1999.

Planets void of course

I'm curious as to whether anyone else has the experience of planets being void of course in event charts, or in transits, and the matters that coincide with that.

When I closed on my house 13 years ago, Neptune was in 29 degrees of Capricorn, void of course, in that it had finished making all Ptolemaic aspects and was ready to enter a new sign. I hadn't thought much about it, but have to share the experience I've had in this house regarding Neptune-ruled water. I may have shared this in some previous posts, but wanted to repeat again in light of Neptune "void of course."

For 10 years, I paid my neighbor's irrigation bill and didn't know it. Whoever installed the irrigation system thought that my house meter was my neighbor's irrigation meter. I had previously only lived in condos and had no idea how much a water bill should be. The whole thing was accidentally discovered about 3 years ago. My neighbors were kind enough to reimburse me, and I didn't charge interest since I didn't think this was either their fault or mine.

I also had been highly indecisive about whether to put in a pool (again, Neptune). I finally decided, but there had been some electric work done that had to be re-done to allow for my decision. Understandably, this aggravated the contractor to no end. And would you like to know what his last name was? Neptune!!

Well, I recently had Saturn transiting my natal Neptune. I had to have a whole new zone put in on the irrigation system in the house. In the process, my neighbor noticed that one of the sprinkler heads on my property was tied in to his water line. We agreed that it would be best just to aim the sprinkler head to his lawn and not mine. Not to be outdone, the pool system has understandably aged, and I'm having to replace a lot of that now.

I go back to the Neptune void of course in the event chart of the closing on the house. You might want to watch any planet in 29 degrees and its nature (water, in the case of Neptune) in addition to watching a void of course Moon.

Traditional Vs. Modern - Natal

Hi folks,

Please excuse my lengthy rambling and my ignorance of the disciplines involved, but
I'd like to hear anyones thoughts on this.

Modern natal astrology seems very non-deterministic and open to wide personal interpretation. You aren't your chart and life is what you make it, no planets or placements are inherently "evil", etc. - a very modern way of seeing things.

This appears to be different when it comes to things like horary astrology. For horary to have accuracy (and I have no doubt it is very accurate in the right hands) surely some planets and placements ARE just plain evil, life is what you're given, you aren't special, death comes by this at that time, etc. and that's your lot.

Obviously the two schools are based on exactly the same planets and signs, a natal chart doesn't seem very different to an horary chart done at the time of birth.

My personal belief is that determinism "includes" free will (you are going to do one thing and not another) so there's no philosophical conflict for me, but doesn't that mean that some of us are just born with a messed up chart? Should natal astrology be a lot less cosy than we modern people make it? Do you read natal charts the same or do you hold back on the "Death by dismemberment aged X" stuff...or do you treat it completely differently?

" In the horoscope of a person, an intercepted sign shows a blockage. The qualities of that sign have difficulty coming out. It is like a room in your house that can only be reached by first going through another room. An interception means that your early environment did not give you the ability to deal with the things ruled by the intercepted signs. The qualities of those signs can get bottled up, repressed. Eventually, the pressure builds to the breaking point and they burst out…usually in ways that are not appropriate.

It is better to interpret intercepted signs in pairs. Opposite signs normally work as a team. For instance, the aggression of Aries is balanced by the charm and social skills of Libra. With intercepted signs, the link is broken. The opposite signs cannot balance each other. Take the Virgo-Pisces combination. A person with an intercepted Pisces may not be able to discriminate or be practical in the area ruled by that house. In the opposite house where Virgo is intercepted, they could be excessively focused on details and find it difficult to get the big picture. The effects will manifest mostly in the areas of life that are governed by the houses containing the interceptions. "

Yods?! Finger of Fate??!! Does anybody out there have an idea how to tackle this configuration?

For some time now I've tried to get a feel for Yods. Some people say you should treat a Yod like any midpoint connection but other people feel that this configuration has a character of it's own and that it is heavily fated in the quality it brings to a chart! The other complication is that there is some kind of disagreement as to what a Yod should consist of. I always thought it was two planets in sextile (creating the base of this pointer shaped configuration) both of which quincunx the (same) third planet (the 3rd being the tip/point)?! There is an alternative idea that four planets (or other important points such as: Asc, MC etc) should be involved. Instead of two planets at the base you'd have three (planet A semi sextile planet B and planet B semi sextile planet C). You would then have planet D at the tip in quincunx to planet A and planet C. Planet D would now be making a third aspect, it's opposition to planet B. For those of you who have not fallen asleep at this point (I'm sure I've made this sound more complex than it is) please offer your ideas!!!!! ;-) Cheers my dears!

I have not been here in quite a while, really busy with things. But i though this would be of interest to people here.

In general I would say the big winners are the Leos this month and they have earned it. The 5th from the 5th rule applies. They are the fifth sign and the Sun is in the 5th from it. Plus, the Sun is the ruler of Leo and mercury is also there.. a very beneficial planet for the big cats. Capricorny Ingresses into a 5th house

OK, so your typical Sun sign horoscope probably won't tell you much about gifts for the holidays (to those who celebrate). I think a person's chart can give some basic clues as to what they might like, or find fun. Perhaps the 5th house can especially help give clues? Maybe natal astrology has helped you pick out gifts for others. I know I have given friends advice about their mom's and husband's gifts via their charts a few times.

I am most likely not celebrating this year, and prefer to buy for others vs. receiving (mostly because I never get what I want or will use, and give it away), but I will state my likes for the record. I am a Taurus Sun, and Taurus supposedly enjoys gifts that are luxurious or relate to the arts. I admit I do love fine arts (music, film, etc.), especially classical over modern, and am appreciative of those gifts (tickets to the opera, CDs, etc.). But what I usually want (covet!) are Sagittarian (my Moon/Neptune in the 5th house of fun/pleasure). The Moon/Neptune influences loves fantasy, and I especially enjoy getting books (I dearly want "The Sword of Truth" series, and of course astrology books). Your typical Sag trips anywhere in the world would be a dream, but highly unlikely. Actually, a dream would be a piano (which is Taurean like my Sun), since I had to sell mine a few years ago, but again, highly, highly unlikely. Dream scenario. Another one on my list is exercise equipment (I need heavier weights for my workout videos!), which might be found by my strongest influences - Mars in Aries.

Anyway, what about you? If someone were looking at your chart, what might they conclude you'd be interested in getting as a gift this year? This might even be helpful for others in the future who need gift ideas.

I read various astro articles on line, seems to be some interesting issues in Tiger Woods chart that are being written about. Anyone else notice a flurry of them?

This pattern appears to have implications for Woods. His high water mark of 2000 was during a Jupiter and Saturn transit to the 3rd sector. Now that Jupiter (2001) and Saturn (2002) have both passed the Mid-heaven, Woods has both planets in the apparently unproductive 4th sector (where his Saturn resides) and is in the midst of what some are increasingly calling a slump. The bad news for Tiger is that because he was born at a more southerly latitude and with a Scorpio ascendant he does not have the “shortening” of this sector characteristic to Nicklaus’ chart (and subsequent elongation of the crucial 3rd). Saturn will not clear Tiger’s Ascendant until 2009. Jupiter will not reach the crucial 3rd sector until 2010 when progressed Mercury makes the direct station. Other than the previously mentioned progressed returns and Pluto transits of 2004-2005, there is not much help during this period. 2006-2009 appear mostly barren and at best a mixed bag of major transits/progressions. Tiger’s career may well be on the line. It appears that if Tiger is to avoid a very serious slump during the prime of his career he had better make the best of next years PGA and the 2005 major tournaments.

Sun Sign Astrology & Weekly Horoscopes

Ok so I know that Sun Sign columns can be a controversial issue and some people believe that Sun Sign columns are the bane of astrology and every sun sign astrologer should be round up and battered with rolled up ephemerises!

However, I think most of us read our sun sign column long before we calculated our aspects. I've always kind of been interested/intrigued about sun sign columns and what sun sign astrologers focus on and if there's really any accuracy to it.
With that in mind I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a few sun sign 'columns' for the week/month and we can review them throughout the week. They don't have to be too serious and probably should be written to the a more 'general' audience, so limiting the astrological 'jargon' that's used.

I chose a sign at random - Libra.

Watch out for arguments with friends or co-workers early on this week Libra, with a busy weekend like you've just had it's no wonder tempers are raised. You've been playing hard the last few days and to counter balance that, this week you'll be retreating into the background a bit more and getting down to the details at work. It will be business as usual for the most part but expect a busy day on Thursday with co-workers not pulling their weight. Retrograde planets in your chart.

I read:

"On some charts, and in the ephemeris (an almanac of the daily planetary positions), planets which are in retrograde are denoted by a tiny R after the degree and minute designation. While older astrology books may suggest that retrograde planets in the birth chart are debilitated in some way, modern literature has mostly dropped this. At most, a suggestion that a retrograde planet may denote delayed development of factors relating to that planet. Many astrologers barely mention the retrograde status of a planet in the natal chart."

Do you think this is true? Why?

My husband has Mercury in Virgo which was retrograde, and he has big problems with communication and expressing his feelings. Is this a reflection of mercury retrograde or something else, maybe?

Is the descendant a part of what we strive to be?

I've recently been considering the descendant as a possible indication for who and what the individual strives to be (along with the midheaven) and so far I've seen a connection.

There might however be a slight difference between people who lack planets around the descendant and people who have planets placed around or conjunct the descendant, therefore I think it would be good if you all mentioned possible planets or lack of planets around the dsc along with if you feel that your descendant is a part of what you strive to be or not.

Testing Astrology

I've run across various articles online this week that talk about how absurd astrology is (and of course the crazy people who study it). One of the most famous ones that skeptics pounce on is "A Double-Blind Test of Astrology” in the journal Nature. I downloaded a recent article from The Journal of General Psychology (2008) entitled "Science Versus the Stars: A Double-Blind Test of the Validity of the NEO Five-Factor Inventory and Computer-Generated Astrological Natal Charts." One of the arguments against astrology is the P. T. Barnum effect, which is "a general tendency for individuals to accept vague and ambiguous descriptions as typical of themselves, influences the acceptance of both astrological and psychological personality feedback." Of course this study was likely bent towards psychology, so it is no wonder that the end result had a stronger accuracy for the NEO vs. the astrological interpretation. It's funny how "science" often works this way. I consider myself to be a scientist, as I have a degree in biology, and I have even worked in medical and biological research. One of the first things you learn as a scientist is how research work can be very biased.

Yet I admit that there are days where I wonder if astrology does truly work, or if I am reading what I want to read (or perhaps just using my own intuition).

I would be curious if horary astrology has ever been tested, but it would be difficult to test something like this, as it depends so much on the purpose of the question (the question isn't the question itself, but whether or not astrology is valid). I know that famous horary astrologers claim their accuracy to be in the realm of 78% or so (I think Anthony Louis claimed somewhere in that mark). Perhaps you could follow the accuracy of a professional horary astrologer closely to see how it goes...

Do any of you think that astrology could ever be tested properly in some way, if so, how? Also, what experiences have you had that made you believe so vehemently that astrology does work?

Problems with love

I've always had difficult relationships. I tend to get myself into weird situations and then desperately try to find a way out. My relationships are always really intense from the start, then I will suddenly just lose interest and it's like my feelings have disappeared. I have been accused of being cold and I suppose that is true. I always blame myself for the breakdown of my relationships because it's like someone has pressed a button on my emotions and they just go away. Can anyone tell me anything by looking at my chart. I want to know if it will always be this way. My chart is in my photo album.

Describe your own death, based on your own chart.. it has been said the 4th (old age) and especially the 8th house have to do with your death...

what do they say to you....
with mars opposition my algol ascendant, for me it can be my head gets cut off or i get shot by, co workers or another totally unexpected corner....

with jupiter conjunct neptune in the 8th house, i could also die in my death or when travelling or under the influence of drugs.... with a little but of that jupiter in the 8th house luck i'll die having sex! maybe get shot in the head by my wife while having sex with someone else... hahaha

Natal Squares and Oppositions

Hi folks,

I've been thinking a lot about "hard" aspects and how the respective planets interract with each other in my chart.

With my oppositions both personalities seem to be active all the time as a pair, an ongoing tension as per all those usual descriptions. I can't do one without the other tagging along.

However (at the risk of sounding like a fruitcake lol) I've noticed that my squares tend to show two distinctly different personalities that are rarely if ever active at the same time...almost unaware of each other. There's no conflict, no tension, I just don't know which will be in control when I wake up in the morning. I know others can sometimes find this a bit bewildering although I have no problem with it at all - it can even be quite useful if I can be flexible enough to take advantage of it.

Is this how the differences between squares and oppositions work for others?

Jupiter Returns

OK, it may be 'squeaky wheel' syndrome, but I have noticed no shortage of Saturn threads, saturn returns, Pluto threads, 8th House threads or whatever. All tough, therefore, all deserving of lots of discussion.

But I would be curious right now to hear of Jupiter Return transits - what anyone here has experienced in terms of new ideas and new experiences, new directions from new vistas that may have been glimpsed at this point. Ones that could easily be missed because of struggles, angsts and difficulties that may be being faced elsewhere - resulting in general myopia.

I am having a Jupiter Return and it has been manifesting - a publication, an exhibition, offers to join other cyber galleries - great. (my next blog will be a bit of an ego trip there) yet it does feel a little flat right now. Hassles there are aplenty in everyday life, squeaky wheels abounding as this time Mercury retro really does live up to its reputation in putting in the spanner to an already besieged Mars the other end . Doorbells not working, mobiles breaking down (not just mine), gloom and doom merchants everywhere.

Possibly Uranus is the other planet that can offer a more bird's eye view of things.

So please, do share your experiences there.

Can any fellow astrologer in this tribe offer me insight on learning astrology? I've only studied astrology for two years. I kind of feel like I'm stuck on my learning process; not getting anywhere. I prefer free stuff because I can't afford lessons and stuff. Any tips on learning this subject or recommendations on books and/or websites on astrology would be gladly appreciated. Is it common for Librans to be attracted to other Librans? I've always been into the cute, boyish types. Young looking, and maybe even pretty in some ways (Not "bitchy", lets just get that straight!), and very sweet and reserved in personality. I figured it was just because that "look" is very much in contrast to my personality... but now i think it's just my Libra/Venusian energies at work.

i'm looking mainly at a mutual eros-venus, eros-psyche, and mars venus contacts between myself and this girl.

what do you think about out-of-orb conjunctions vs within-orb sextiles/trines? which is stronger?

her eros (24 sag) conjuncts my venus (7 sag) by sign only, but it's a conjunction
my eros (20 aqua) trines her venus (21 libra) - much tighter orb but it's a trine

how about mars venus?

her mars (22 sag) conjuncts my venus (7 sag) by sign only
my mars (23 leo) sextiles her venus (21 libra) by orb

which of these pairs of aspects are felt more strongly? who would you say "in theory" burns more for the other?

what about venus pluto conjunctions? (i'm the pluto - orb of 1 degree). it's getting scary how much i'm burning for this girl, and i barely know her. i know she's definitely feeling it too, but it's hard to believe anyone can feel as strongly as i do right now.

to add to things:
our aqua psyches are conjunct (5 degs)
my eros conjuncts her psyche within sign (15 degs)
our eros are sextile by sign (4 degs)
my venus conjuncts her uranus (2 degs)

HOT Affair Between Leo Man & Aries Woman

Hi guys, I'm new here... have always been very in to astrology (despite people telling me its nonsense!), and have a bit of a dilemma I'd love some insight in to.

I've recently become involved with a leo man who has been in a relationship for 2 years (with a capricorn) and have somehow (much to my dismay) fallen head over heels for him! Almost to the point of obsession. I know it's BAD but I can't help how I feel.

We have AMAZING chemistry, emotionally and sexually. I'm so confused again.

I'm still struggeling with my ascendant in Sag, it never made any sense to me, so i messed around with the chart maker program.

I'm born on 8:59, but if were born 20 minutes later, i would have been a capricorn ascendant, it feels more like me that my sag ascendant discription does, i always get told that i'm really closed, it can also be my venus, but i doubt it. It just feels more right.

The conjuctions sound allot more like me as well, the venus/ascedant is on the spot, but the venus/neptune conjuction is a true eye opener, i had really bad derealisation problems from around sixteen years old on, and the venus/neptune hit them spot on for the first time.

I don't know what to think anymore, my mother says 8:59 and she was there ofcourse lol, but the discription just feels right.

Astrology of childbirth

Can you see from natal chart if woman can have some complications with child birth.
I´ve read that 5 – th house is related with children and it worries me that i have saturn and pluto in that house. I have jupiter in conjunction to saturn, but since jupiter is in virgo and saturn is in libra i realize my saturn has the final word in that conjunction. Are there some other points in the that have influence on child birth?

Sabian Symbols "on the Cross"

I bought Dane Rudhyar's "An Astrological Mandala" a few weeks ago, and just got to reading it today, and came across these new "tips" of his on how to use the symbols in finding one's life path.He does this by interpreting the Sabian Symbols for the degrees on the 4 angles: the Ascendant, which stands for "what?", the Descendant, which stands for "Where it's heading to", the IC, which stands for "how it does this", and, finally, the MC, which stands for "what this ultimately leads to".

Now, in reading my own chart, these really seem to fall into place.

He seems to be using the Equal House system, however, which I don't really agree with. He gives an example of how an Ac in 12 d Pisces, leads to an IC in 12 d Gemini, a DC in 12d Virgo, and an MC in 12 d Sagittarius. Although this would form a perfect cross, I find mine are more accurate if I use the whole sign/Placidus calculations for the MC, which puts my AC and DC in 19d, whereas my MC and IC are in 17d.

Anyway, I'd be curious to know what you think on this subject, or if you've used the Sabian Symbols in this way, before. I really couldn't find any site with all the symbols assigned to the degrees of the Zodiac, although I remember coming across these several times before..so, dunno. If you find any sites, please link them.

In my own chart, AC(the "what") is in the 20th d Virgo, which is described as "A caravan of cars headed for promised lands."

->key message, according to Rudhyar, is the need for common effort in reaching any experience within the "new world".

the DC(the "where?") is in 20th d Pisces, which is described as "A table set for an evening meal."

->key message is the fact that, at the right time, the individual's needs will meet those of the ones he's connected to through a spiritual or biological web of energies.

the IC(the "how?") is in 18th d. Sagittarius, which is "Tiny children playing in sunbonnets."

->key message is the protection society offers to individuals who are still immature, while these start dealing with their strong unconscious energies.

the MC(the "ultimate goal") is in 18th d Gemini, which is "Two Chinese men talking Chinese in a western crowd.

->key message is the mind's need of maintaining independence from the physical environment, in order to focus on special problems.

Now, I don't know if these are just totally general and vague points, or if these 4 points totally match my intuitive view of my life's path.
That's why I'd be curious to see how you feel abot your own "crosses" to bear.

All these 4 images have been close to my heart, throughout my life. Not the precise visual images described, of course, but the feelings and energies they convey.
But I'm not sure if it's just me, and my inner needs, or everyone's inner needs. For instance, heading toward a "table set for an evening meal"..doesn't everyone want to reach old age enjoying a quiet setting among close family or friends, enriched by all that has been sowed and now is to be reaped?

I haven't wrote the entire descriptions Rudhyar wrote for each symbol, but reading those makes me identify even deeper with the symbols on my "cross".
The one on the MC, especially, is one image/feel I've always had in my head, for as long as I can remember.

Furthermore, he also suggests in his book to write down every planet's position by sign with its corresponding symbol, because a lot of the times just reading all these separately you can get bigger picture forming about one's life path.
And that, again, is truly mesmerizing to me, since the symbol for the 1st degree Gemini-the one I have my Moon, Mars, and Jupiter in-describes me perfectly (" A glass-bottomed boat reveals undersea wonders").
The key-message for this symbol is "the revealing of unconscious energies and profound psychic structures", and it implies the perceiving of another dimension.

Tips on how to handle a Venus in Scorpio. LOL

If they have Venus in Scorpio Ouch. I feel for you. Venus in Aries is bad ass, but Venus in Scorpio has the far greater potential to act out some of the moves from “Fatal Attraction.” Whereas Venus in Aries (subconsciously) loves a challenge just for the shear game of it, Venus in Scorpio is not out for mere amusement and challenge. Calculating exact birth time

Hi, I'm an amateur so please forgive me if this question is silly. I'm wondering if there is a way to calculate a more accurate birth time if someone was not born on the meridian of a time zone. For example the hour's difference between the Maine end of EST until it reaches Central. I'm asking because four minutes would make the difference between me having an Aries versus a Pisces rising sign, which I feel more aligned to. Thanks for your help!

Astrological Greatness

I remember reading years ago. That Alexander the Great's Mother, was advised by an Astrologer to try and hold out before giving birth for a certain time. If she was able to. Then greatness would be bestowed upon him. If not, his life would follow a different path.

That was an interesting idea of determining the time of Birth and how it could affect future events.

I know King George 3rd had someone who was born a few minutes before or far away. They married women on the same day. Had the same number of Children, and suffered from the same illnesses. What was interesting about that one was, One became a Monarch, the other an ordinary person.

Anyone have their own ideas about this?

If you look at my chart with al those scorpio/sag planets you must think i have a pretty hardcore life, get everything i want by brute force, sleep with every woman, travel the world, find the deepest connection with the spiritual world that i can find.

But no, i'm actually quite normal most of the time, sure the scorpio planets can kick me in the nuts sometimes, but i doubt anyone will picture me when they see my chart.

I see that with other people to, i know a girl with a chart that makes her look like she can take over the world, yet she is just as boring as me 90% of the time.

It can go the other way around as well, Dave chappelle has a boring chart, nothing really to see there, yet he has a very interesting life.

What determines our personalities?

I just met someone recently, and it feels as if we have really identical personalities. We both are ENFPs according to the Myer Briggs personality test, but our similarity goes so much deeper than that. It is like looking at a reflection of myself. I compared our charts and it looks like we have the same moon sign and the same mars sign. Our moons are about 5 deg apart in cancer, and our mars are 2 deg apart in libra. Our sun oppose each other- his in scorpio and mine in taurus. This relation is making me question the importance of moon and mars in determining our personalities. How much does the sun sign contribute to our personalities? And are moon and mars more important when it comes to determining our personalities? What do you think?

Would an Aries rising or a Aquarius rising have a better head in business (dealing with technology)? I'm majoring in engineering, so it's hard to decide because Aquarius is scientific, technological, and inventive while Aries deals with engineering as well and has leadership characteristics.

Sun Conjunct Neptune compatability

I have this "Canis Major" conjunct my exalted Jupiter and Par "Part of Fortune"(Fortuna) in the 9th house of Cancer

Cornelius agrippa believed that sirius combined with jupiter was a talisman for prosperity and good fortune.

jupiter is the greater benefic and sirius, the dog star, is similarly auspicious.

[Also the connection to dolphins TOTALLY resonates with me. there is a certain mutual affinity - which explains this connection, also will killer whales (esp. Orca since i was young.]

Sirius, the brightest star visible today...is the mouth of the Greater Dog, Canis Major. It is said to be of Jupiterian and Martial influence.

Chart Intrepretation - Practice

Ok so this has been done before but I'm thinking we chould give it a shot again and see if anyone's interested.

The idea is that anyone can interpret anyone elses chart and see how close to the button we can get. It's better done if we don't know a whole lot about the other person, but either way its always fun and can often be interesting or enlightening.
No matter how many times we look at our own charts sometimes a little bit of objectivity from someone else can be refreshing!

Sun/Moon Midpoint conjunct descendant in synastry

How would you interpretet someone's Su/Mo midpoint exactly conjuncting another's descendant in synastry? From cafeastrology.com, I read that if someone's personal planet falls on another's descendant that planet "mirrors many of the traits that the Descendant person lacks, and unconsciously seeks in order to fill a balancing act within himself or herself. This aspect represents a powerful connection that can be difficult to break." Just wondering how this would work with the Su/Mo midpoint.

Also, I am not real clear on the "near and far" concept with midpoints. I understand they are on an axis, but are they interpreteted the same? For example, my Su/Mo midpoint is 21 Aqu 21 (near) and 21 Leo 21 (far). What does this actually mean? Does this mean that any interaction between either point will activate it? Is the near midpoint any more or less intense than the far midpoint?

If I take this further with the original question, how would my Su/Mo midpoint (far) exactly conjunct another's ascendant be interpreted? In regards to synastry and midpoints, does the point that is activating the midpoint also experience an exchange of energy as with a regular aspect between 2 people's planets?

"Countertransference" Potential In The Natal Chart

First of all, here's the "wiki" definition for "countertransference":

"Countertransference[1] is defined as redirection of a psychotherapist's feelings toward a client -- or, more generally, as a therapist's emotional entanglement with a client. The phenomenon was first defined by Sigmund Freud in 1910 in "The Future Prospects of Psycho-Analytic Therapy" as "a result of the patient's influence on [the physician's] unconscious feelings," but the topic was left to others to develop, as he rarely referred to it himself. [2].

The term includes unconscious reactions to a patient that are determined by the psychoanalyst's own life history and unconscious content; it was later expanded to include unconscious hostile and/or erotic feelings toward a patient that interfere with objectivity and limit the therapist's effectivness. For example, a therapist might have a strong desire for a client to get all 'A's' in university because the client reminds her of her children at that stage in life, and the anxieties that the therapist experienced during that time. Another example would be a therapist who didn't receive enough attention from her father perceiving her client as being too distant and resenting him for it. In essence, this describes the transference of the treater to the patient, which is referred to as the “narrow perspective.”[3]

Countertransference is also sometimes defined as the entire body of feelings that the therapist has toward the patient, and also includes cases where the therapist literally takes on the suffering of his/her patient.[4] In the most extreme of cases, it can result in the therapist taking on the neurosis or psychosis of the patient, such as bouts of paranoia or psychotic intervals, illustrated by Jung in the case of schizophrenia.[4]"

The fear of this is that prevents me from getting into the therapist profession. As well as the fear that I may not be patient and sensitive enough to give the patient all the attention he/she needs.

I am guessing in my chart the main anti-therapist elements are the tight Moon-Mars conjunction, the Jupiter in gemini-which, according to some sites over-emphasizes reason becoming detached and insensitive, as well as the Mercury-Moon and Mercury-Mars squares, which "clouds" the reason. The Mercury-Jupiter square cannot be too helpful, either.
Also, for those of you who are well acquainted with Black Moon Lilith and its influence, I'm guessing my BML trining my Mars, Moon, Jupiter cannot be too helpful either.

I'm not gonna get into house placements, since it might stir debates about who sticks to which house systems, so here is my chart in Placidus, and Whole Sign, respectively, if you wanna get a "visual":

However, the two positions that do not change from Placidus to whole Sign are Sun in the 7th and Pluto in the 3rd, both of which would support the ability to be a good therapist.
Basically, I am totally confused right now as to what exactly constitutes an "objective" perspective, anyway. Even when all emotions are left aside, and all you have is pure thinking mechanism, is that not also subjective?

Is it just me and my severely "challenged" Mercury in Pisces, or is there no real way to separate objective thinking from physical/emotional, and most of all, PERSONAL experiences?

Anyway, hope this will stir some debate, cause my poor little fish brain needs a good debate every now and then. A storm can help lift shit from the bottom of my "sea", if you know what I mean..

Mars aspecting Black Moon Lilith

I got a free reading from some site MaryEllen recommended some months ago on one of the black moon lilith threads, and this is the description I got for my Mars-BML trine:

The Mars stamina pulled towards the inner universe.
The Black Moon, with its metaphysical depth and its intimate
relationship to the deepest of the human psyche, can significantly
modify the significance of Mars in a chart. It adds an occult
dimension to it. It makes the native more likely to use his/her Mars
energy to work on himself/herself and explore inner worlds rather
than only being concerned with external things and the material
world. It can give a strong need to follow a spiritual path and
explore the hidden mysteries of existence rather than just being

All this is 100% true for me, and I think it definitely explains my loss of direction in my chart, since my Mars situation would otherwise suggest un-crippled outer-expansion:tightly conjunct Moon and Jupiter, in Gemini, and the 9th house-extroverted positions. Plus it squares my Mercury-ruler of my Ascendant. Plus it parallels my MC!

Uranus Aspects

Hi folks,

Almost all my planets form at least one "hard" aspect to something or other (lucky me lol) - with the exception of Uranus. Uranus forms several trines and sextiles with personal planets including Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and MC but has absolutely no so-called difficult aspects whatsoever making it to my eyes unique in my chart.

My question is: although this is a non-personal planet would this make it stand out as something I should pay special attention to in the same way as a singleton or an unaspected planet albeit to a far lesser degree? Is this kind of thing what a real astrologer would look for in a chart?
