Outside of the study of transits I would like to know what everyone's preferred forecasting techniques are, and which ones seem to have the most impact in your opinion. Solar returns, progressions, aspects between the progressed chart and the natal...which techniques do you use? I began wondering about this after reading a few people here mention progressions and aspects from progressions, something I've never really worked with. I will say that I think the Solar Return is incredibly accurate, though in my case it's been more so with houses than aspects. Anyway, what's been your experience with forecasting techniques, and could you give examples of when they most rang true? And I know that astrology can't really be used to forecast the future, per se, but I mean more along the lines of where you look for future trends.

I have researched this legendary awful placement and know very well all the limitations, confidence issues and non-stop struggle it entails for the native. And yes, yes, I know I can't forget all the wonderful "lessons" and "character building" it gives too, of course.....of course.

(insert some bitter reflection here)

I would love some help!

Are there other aspects or planetary influences etc. I should look out for in my lifelong dealing with this placement, that could help me? Astrologically speaking. I mean, could I consciously utilize a strong Mars aspect more often in my life? Are there known aspects that act as "antidotes" to diminish some of the pain of loss and feelings of lack of achievement?

Every thing I do seems to be a major struggle or actually impossible (career, financial security, goals and dreams, driver's license, home, car, etc.). I have been homeless more than once, and hospitalized for depression more than once. Then one day, I started to work at a very spiritually demanding job and for the first time saved some money. I lost it all due to an illness which had led to a major depression. My existence seems to be an ebb and flow of loss and obstacles, followed by regeneration, then loss again. Not much forward momentum. I won't even start on my childhood and teen years!

I do have a feeling my Chiron in the first house in Pisces holds a "key" to my journey through this. Pun intended!

And I hope to hell my Moon is in Leo. Actually, I am married to the idea, let's not even burst that bubble. I can really use the confidence and playfulness ( I was born between 9:30 and 10 a.m. and my moon is EXACTLY on cusp of Virgo and Leo -- it's confusing me because I feel both energies. Maybe because I'm a Monkey in Chinese astrology, I dunno. I digress...).

Thank you in advance for any feedback on my Saturn Problem! Astrology is a hobby but I am no expert, so any expertise is very appreciated.

My info: January 7 1969 between 9:30 to 10:00 a.m, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada (sorry for the lack of precise time but my mother has always been quite sure of this range).

Saturn has (finally?) left virgo and entered libra. What do you all think this saturn in libra will mean?
The recession might be seeing the light in the end of the tunnel, however I've read that when Saturn transits a sign, people get serious about that sign and decide they need structure in that sign. In other words the sign it occurs in might be seen as problematic or lacking in structure.

On the negative side this might indicate that there will be problems relating to groups of certain kinds, peers and something to do with the sense of belonging within people which might cause conflicts in for instance peoples sense of social standing and justice. I'm thinking about the last time saturn was in libra in the beginning of the 80's when the happy bohemian 70's was over and capitalism had resurfaced again which led to alot of people feeling frustrated and oppressed and also the time when angry, frustrated punkmusic rose in popularity to mirror the (mostly) young peoples feeling of being neglected by or not belonging in the capitalist society machine.

This might also be a time when people will take matters in their own hands instead of just trusting that the "big brother" will take care of it, however this can also include taking justice on their own hands which aren't as good.
Saturn is also said to be uncomfortable in libra since saturn is more at home in an earth sign. Saturn in air can tend to create a rif between the people and the government which leads to their relationship becoming unstable and suspicious. However I think we all can agree that saturn in virgo wasn't very positive in its influence so I think saturn in libra have a good chance of having a positive effect.

Saturn in libra could mean that people get "libran issues" such as sensitivity to peer pressure, group riots, bad habits such as alcohol or drugs or the positive libra influence like the quest for a laid back, esthetic and social life style OR they - due to saturn - reject the libra qualities and think they need to structure them.

When saturn was in cancer around 2003-2004 USA started the war in Iraq which stemmed alot from fear of being unsafe and then handeling it and "protecting" their country by doing something traditional and already tried, however the feeling of being unsafe was pretty much an issue all over the world. This was also the hight of the concern around being overweight-craze and when the dieting market exploded and actresses and people on tv in general started to set the size-zero standards, which is symbolized by saturns rejection of cancers food/nurturing qualities.

After that saturn entered leo which was the hight of shows like American idol and all those similar competition and reality shows and the debates about what people were willing to do in order to become famous, seen and exposed. Gossip blogs on the internet grew in popularity and the celebrity obsessions intensified.

Coming to saturn in virgo I guess it was alot about holding on to your resources due to the recession, but although virgo is supposed to be very health-conscious I think people have seem to grow tired on the whole fitness-craze which might actually be a rejection from saturn again? I'm not sure...
(On a sidenote I have to add the "twilight" movie, true blood and all those vampire themes became popular during saturn in virgo, so even though an average astrologer would connect vampires to scorpio (naturally) I think they actually also relate to virgo! I've looked into it and people that are a bit vampire-ish and into pale skin, dark lipstick, victorian clothes etc always have virgo positions! A few celebrities who are a bit like this are Dita von Teese -virgo mars, Evan Rachel Wood -virgo sun, venus and mars, Zooey Deschanel -virgo mars and jupiter, Eva Green -virgo mars, Frances Bean Cobain -virgo venus, Asc and jupiter, Michelle Trachtenberg -virgo moon, venus, mars, Noomi Rapace -virgo mars and jupiter, christina ricci -virgo mars, asc and jupiter. )

What do you think Saturn in Libra might indicate?

Here is a general article about duads: http://www.starlitpath.com/articles/duads.html , and here is a duad table: http://koti.mbnet.fi/neptunia/dwads.htm

Aaand here is a great decanate site: http://www.elbertwade.com/page109.html

Now, try to interpret every planet by sign, decanate, and duad.

I'll go first.

My Sun is in Pisces, Scorpio Decanate, Scorpio Duad, which explains the emotional intensity and innate skepticism. I've never fitted into that "trusting fish" mold most astrologers always paint for Pisceans.

My Moon, Mars, and Jupiter are all conjunct in Gemini, Gemini Decanate and Gemini Duad! Which, again, explains why, unlike most Gemini-touched people, I have no other reason for using my wit but the wit itself! All my Gemini stellium energy is directed at "polishing" the rational processes which make the mind.

My Mercury-North Node conjunction is in Pisces, Pisces Decanate, Aries Duad, which explains my "Pisces, and proud of it"-way of expressing myself, unlike the quavery, unsure, mumbling Mercury in Pisces most astrologers depict! Not to say I alwaays express myself loud and clear, but that I'm more likely to growl, than mumble! HAHAHA.

My Venus is in Pisces, Cancer Decanate, Virgo Duad, which is just..sad, but true. LOL. I am nurturing and protective towards those I love, and always a bit self-sacrificing (Virgo Duad).

My Saturn and Neptune are in Capricorn, Taurus Decanate, Taurus Duad, which would explain...my striving for material comfort, rather than professional success?

My Uranus is in Capricorn, Taurus Decanate, Pisces Duad, which would explain my...mental/emotional instability? LOL. Or maybe the impossibility of forming shallow relations.

My Pluto is in Scorpio, Pisces Decanate, Taurus Duad, which would explain..my earthy sensuality? as well as my artistic passions, rusty as they are...

My Ascendant is in Virgo, Capricorn Decanate, Aries Duad, which, again, is pretty self-explanatory. Basically says no matter how many blows I receive, I can never let go of myself.

And, last but not least, my Midheaven is in Gemini, Libra Decanate, Sagittarius Duad, which explains...hopefully a job implying use of social skills and lots of travelling.

Your turn...

Jupiter and Sexual Prowess?

Hello y'all,

It boils down to personal preferences amongst astrologers, but there has been a debate as to whether or not the 8th relates to sex... I take the 5th to represent recreational sex. [BTW, I'm not sure WTF sex is doing on my mind today (my 5th house is a little crazy right now)]

I was reading about Jupiter in connecttion with great lovers (by Kim Farnell):

"A sample of forty charts of people - mainly men -who were renowned to be great lovers kept me happy for a few days while I studied them to see if there were any common factors. One third had a Jupiter ruled 5th cusp, a third of the remainder had Jupiter making a major aspect to the 5th cusp. The majority of the remainder had Jupiter close to an angle or tenanting the 5th house. One problem of course, is that those renowned for their sex lives are so because of the sheer number of lovers they've had - and this says nothing about quality. But if we assume that word would get around if their reputation was groundless, then this seems as good a starting point as any.

Obviously, this is a small sample, but the Jupiter theme throughout seemed too strong to ignore. Three quarters of the charts had at least one angular planet, half had two or more and a quarter had three or more. The tenth and seventh houses were the most heavily tenanted and the sixth the least. Looking at the aspects there was a high number of Mars/Venus/Saturn contacts - in fact 40% of the charts had both Mars/Saturn and Venus/Saturn closely aspected. Only three charts contained no aspects between the three planets.

So based on the above it seems that the indicators for sexual prowess in a chart are an emphasis on the 5th house combined with Jupiter, and contacts between Mars/Venus/Saturn. According to Barbara Watters, Jupiter dominated charts (in particular those with Mars opposition Jupiter) show people who take action against the accepted moral code or traditional beliefs. Those whose charts were examined were recorded because of their sex lives being exceptional in the way that they challenged the moral code of their time."

Nicholas De Vore states that a combust Venus shows nymphomania in a woman's chart... Anyone?

She also talks briefly about Casanova's chart in another article. Here's the link, if you're interested: http://www.skyscript.co.uk/casanova.html

Those of you experienced in love-making - how do you rate yourself and/or previous lovers, based on your/their astrological chart? Do the good lovers seem to have strong Jupiter placements, as described above?

I have always known since day one that my husband and I were opposites and this was before all the astrology research and come to find out we definitely are in life and in the astrology world. I keep reading that a lot of divorces end because what first attracted you in the first place is what tears you apart...so I sometimes wonder how a pisces planet - in my case my moon, would relate to a virgo moon? His virgo moon drives me crazy I am always thinking if only it were in a different sign!

They can´t handle reality & seek refuge in a sheltered hut. If they could, they would "sweep" society too with their broom & silence everything they can´t deal with (many things!). I know they are scorp-critters deep down & such beings often love to rule. Most scorpio dictionaries don´t have the words pluralism or democracy. Scorps believe in power & might .
Those of you who are more interested in the occult, death, dark things, etc.: what do you think shows this in your chart?

I have always had a fascination with death, the after life, ghosts, divination (Ouija, tarot, astrology, magik), etc. Very few of my friends are like this, and I know I am not the only reason that they made a Saw VI (not that I watched them all, but I do love the genre of Horror). In looking at my natal birth chart, I don't have any 8th/12th house planets, not a lot of Scorpio and no Pisces planets, and very little Pluto action. Stephen King and I do share some similarities astrologically though, especially our ASC and Sag Moon in the 5th. We are both Pluto-Moons, as some of you like to call people with Moon aspects to Pluto. I do love his books, and I share his "gift" of nightmares and dreaming horror stories.

Edgar Allen Poe had Scorpio rising and a ton of Pisces influences. His fourth house was especially prominent, and I take the 4th to be a darker house because in traditional astrology it was associated with things hidden in the earth, dark things and deep feelings. He was obviously a very internal person, since his chart is pretty much all bellow the 1st-7th axis.

For those who are interested in Jungian astrology, the concept of transits creating the occasion for manifestation of certain archetypal situations or circumstances comes up rather often in discussions of collective affairs, such as wars, significant world events, etc. What I think we hear less about is how this phenomenon occurs in the personal sphere. Even less do we hear about how actual archetypes manifest through being triggered by certain transits, thereby either generating psychic transformations or at least challenging the psyche to cope with them.

Everything is game in this, including transiting planets aspecting each other and natal planets as well. The point is to recognize them and then pinpoint the origin of the manifestations ~ seeing the patterns. I think that it is also possible that these situations can seem inextricably linked to karma. Repetitive themes in one's life may appear karmic, but are they? Is karma about psychic integration? Is the repetition of life "themes" a signal of karma at work, playing out over and over what we don't "master," resolve, reconcile, or integrate in ourselves and seeming to keep resurfacing as a result?

For example, perhaps a person begins to recognize the periodic emergence of a Parsifal theme in his life ~ questing after a kind of Holy Grail ~ a life purpose. Certain crises arise from time to time that cast a huge spotlight on this matter, such as collapsing business ventures or a series of failed relationships or choices that seem impossible to make at the time. Encounters with the anima or animus can be quite typical of this ~ a man finding that woman who embodies what seems to be his "type," only to find after a while that the relationship is morphing into a nightmare and not being sure why. Rx Venus messing around again, or does it go deeper than that and get triggered by other potent transits as well, and if so, why?

I think this could be good interpretation practice, especially when it comes to grasping how squares work.

On my chart, I'll use the whole sign house system and say Saturn will be crossing the 3rd and Pluto the 6th. I read somewhere that how I think could affect my health and vice versa, and I would also say this square could cause problems when it comes to putting energy into work, which in my case is writing. I already see the depressive tendencies of Saturn kind of killing my ability to be more disciplined, however, considering the pressure these two planets exert, I do see myself getting impatient with myself and slowly building up how much I write while honing in on my goals, even though it is just the beginning of the transit. I'm also very critical of my work, and reading fiction has become as much an educational task as something I do for enjoyment. I find myself analyzing the hows of writing much more, and this will of course help with Pluto work stuff. Also, getting organized has become a big deal, as has finding places outside of my house where I can really concentrate. And the health stuff is definitely a biggie...I'm really trying to figure out my reasons for eating unhealthy food and how my mind controls my actions and vice versa. And I'm more of a hypochondriac in general.

Anyway, Those are some ideas from my chart. I've only focused on the planets and not the Libra/Cap part since I'm learning more about sidereal at the time and generally confused about signs. I also don't completely understand how Libra/Cap would work in a square.

Moon/Ascendant in Aquarius or in Pisces. i am a virgo sun as well. i will have to recheck in the hospital in my country for accurate timing.

To which he paused a moment to consider, and I realized he was only half-joking... and so was I. So then my Gemini Ascendant decided to crack a funny about the internet.

Meaning, if Mars is currently in Leo squaring the Sun in Scorpio, that will not affect me unless either planet is hitting a personal planet on my natal chart. And if it does, then my 12th and 4th houses are seeking some sort of resolution.

However, everyone seems to agree that the Saturn/Uranus opposition did affect people personally, whether Saturn and/or Uranus made a planetary aspect to their natal charts or not, as in Saturn in Virgo vs. Uranus in Pisces resulted in issues between my 2nd and 8th houses. What's your take on this? Do you only consider actual planetary aspects as significant or does the natural chart's position in relation to yours affect you also?

I've been trying to make sense of some of the discrepancies in rulerships for awhile now. Some time ago, I came across the idea that the planet rulerships began with Leo and Cancer, Sun and Moon, then went backward thru the signs from there in the order of planets' distance from the sun... so it looked like the lunar rulerships in this model. They assigned Eris to Libra and an 11th, yet undiscovered, planet to Virgo. It made sense to me, but there was still something about it that didn't make sense. But, using Eris and an undiscovered planet in the Solar/Lunar model seems to make sense of that.

There are definitely pieces of the article that I disagree with, but the general idea makes sense to me.
For instance, I've read long ago in some aspects' descriptions that I'm prone to be naive and easily manipulated, and consequently, I've found myself in the position of being the manipulator, more often, due to this heightened sensitivity to the subject that made me always on the lookout for any hidden messages, or patterns or shit..which actually made me push some well-intended people away from me.

Of course, interestingly enough, my Moon-Mars conjunction explains innate defensiveness and paranoia...so the way you "read" your own chart is ALSO mapped in your chart! Amazing!

I was inspired to write after reading through the posts on Paul's "Closest Aspects" topic.

I just discovered this today! I got chills reading the following description, which was found in some past life report written for danny de vito . . .

"Like the brilliant diamond which is formed through intense and concentrated pressure, you are intended to develop inner depth, strength, and maturity through periods of intense aloneness, and what one might deem hardship. Early on you may well be required to face difficult circumstances or take sole responsibility for yourself, possibly due to the loss or lack of a strong relationship with your father. You may feel that you will never measure up to your father's expectations of you, that he disapproves or is disappointed in you, that you are not quite enough. In response to this you may become super responsible and conscientious, working extremely hard to achieve or be something that will make your father proud, even forcing yourself into some mold, or inhibiting certain essential aspects of yourself in order to be taken seriously. You may be prone to intense self-doubt and inclined toward excessive guilt, all of which tends to shroud your life in subtle, pervasive ways, and a constant sense of struggle and effort and of having to do it all alone may result. It is true that, in many ways, you will have to stand alone in this life, and cut off from the usual avenues of support, you will be developing true self-reliance, self-definition, and self-responsibility. You may have to break away from your father, his values, or way of being in order to truly be yourself. And, you will be repeatedly tested, which makes you quite aware, probably too much so, of your own limitations and inadequacies. Through this process, however, you will develop a certain toughness and strength you did not have before. Beware of becoming too hardened and serious, however, or of becoming the demanding perfectionist, the severe taskmaster towards other people. Keeping your heart open through the trials of your life rather than succumbing to cynicism or self-condemnation, will certainly enable you to move forward on your path more easily."

found here: http://www.pastlifeastrology.com/Samples/KarmicIn.htm

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else shares this aspect and if you find you can relate to the description above? I am just in awe of how completely relevant it is in my own life. The orb of this aspect in my chart is 0'08*, making it the tightest aspect my chart.

Thanks

Seventh house transits usually mean that partnerships; whether business or marriage will be demanding more autonomy. Some astrologers also think of this as the breaking point of existing partnerships; the likelihood of break-ups between couples who insist on stifling their relationships instead of granting each other more autonomy.

I started a post a while back in the Pluto Conjunct Ascendant tribe, asking if there are any "Soft" looking Scorpio Risers out there like me, because i feel i don't fit the physical description of Scorpio Rising + Pluto conjunct at all. I consider myself "Soft" looking, mostly because of my small-frame and super-feminine features, but the fact that i look so much younger than i am plays a part in that, too.

I notice that Mercury often times keeps Virgo and Gemini looking young, Virgo almost always. My sister is a Virgo Rising, and she as well looks very young for her age. When i look at actresses like Alison Lohman, she's 30, but she clearly looks 18 at the least. I just turned 18 last week, and i swear, just by looking at me you would think that i'm 14.

My Mercury conjuncts my Ascendant in house 12. But, even though Pluto is my only planet in house 1, the Mercury-Ascendant conjunction is much stronger than pluto's conjunction. I'm wondering if any other people with Mercury conjunct Ascendant look exceptionally young. This seems to be a topic i'm fixated on, i just find it so peculiar that i look exactly like the opposite of a Scorpio Ascendant with Pluto in the first.

We have currently been in the middle of a Saturn-Uranus opposition, and I'm curious as to where it falls in the charts of people on this list, and what you see that meaning. The opposition has been and will be exact on the following dates:

Saturn in 18 Virgo opposing Uranus retrograde in 18 Pisces on November 4, 2008, election day in the United States.

Saturn retrograde in 20 Virgo opposing Uranus in 20 Pisces Jan. 30 through Feb. 11, 2009.

Saturn retrograde in 24 Virgo opposing Uranus in 24 Pisces on Sept. 15, 2009.

Saturn retrograde in 28 Virgo opposing Uranus in 28 Pisces on April 26, 2010.

And, finally, on July 26, 2010, Saturn will be at 00 Libra opposing Uranus retrograde in 00 Aries. This opposition is enhanced by a Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on June 8, 2009 at 00 Aries, and a Jupiter/Pluto square at 3 Aries/3 Capricorn on Aug. 8. The dominance of the 00 cardinal axis—the sign of the spring and autumn equinox—is formidable to say the least.

Furthermore, on July 30, 2010, there will be an opposition between the Moon at 00 Aries and Mars at 00 Libra, further accentuating the Saturn/Uranus opposition on the 00 cardinal axis. All of this will follow a lunar eclipse at 4 Cancer/4 Capricorn, with Pluto conjoining the Moon at 4 Capricorn.

However, for this list's purpose, I'd be interested in how it's manifesting in natal charts. This is one of those times when you can't just look at the house Saturn is transiting--you have to combine it with the house that Uranus is transiting, which will be the opposite house of Saturn. All examples welcome.
**If you have Mars in Leo, you’ll be having your Mars return which will be the beginning of a new trend for you, which could extend up to two years. The pace of your life is due to speed up now. This transit will give you more energy and may help you burn some calories too; however, you’ll have to watch your activities a bit because Mars can cause accidents, headaches, or high blood pressure. You will work hard at all of your goals and you may be more competitive now. You might appear aggressive so be mindful that you are not forcing your ideas on others, as this can hurt your relationships. You could give the impression that you are quite powerful and to some this may be intimidating and cause them to distance themselves from you. While you may have energy to burn, your patience could wear thin so be alert to this negative side of Mars.**

I was wondering why I have been hyper-active and keep doing risky things, such as running out in front of moving vehicles and playing with big black widow spiders while crushing cans to recycle. But I digress... Mars transits in the 1st can also sometimes make you ill, and I am down with a virus, though I am rarely sick. I take this transit as an unwelcome one also because Jupiter rules my MC and I don't need Mars mucking that area of my life up any more via the Jupiter conjunction square to natal Mars.

http://astrocenter.astrology.msn.com/msn/WhatDriveYouNuts_Article.aspx?gt1=21001

I'm strongest in Aries, and I am certainly impatient.

****

Nobody's perfect. That's one thing we can all agree about. Sometimes, we even admit to our own faults.

We're still better at noticing those of others, though, especially those who know us well enough to irritate us - to "push our buttons," so to speak. And your astrological sign can have a lot to do with those buttons. What sends an Aries over the edge wouldn't even faze a Capricorn.

What drives you absolutely crazy? Check for your pet peeves in the list below, and when they come up, consider it your mission to count to ten - or 100, if that's what it takes - to keep your cool.

Aries:
Yours is the most impatient sign of all, Aries, so naturally, what irritates you most is waiting. Period. You want to be the first one in, the first one out, and at the very head of the pack in the left hand lane, whether it's rush hour or 3 a.m. Your impatience also extends to your temper. That said, Pet Peeve #2 is anyone who won't fight back. After all, what's better than a worthy opponent?

Taurus:
Unlike your Aries and Gemini neighbors, you, Taurus, can't stand rushing. You believe in measuring twice (at least) and cutting once, in thinking before you act, and in choosing your words and actions as carefully as possible. What drives you crazy more than anything, then, is haste - but unexpected change is a close second. In fact, unlike most of us, you're not particularly fond of surprises, even if they're pleasant ones.

Gemini:
Mercury is your planet, Gemini, the guy with the wings on his head and his feet, symbolizing his quicksilver abilities when it comes to mental and physical speed. So, understandably, nothing makes you crazier than someone who just won't cut to the chase when they're telling a story or refuses to take a shortcut when they know they're running late - although it's hard to imagine how they could resist, with all the tapping and fidgeting you do while you're waiting.

Cancer:
Safety, security, and your home and family are what matter most to you, Cancer, and there's nothing you love more than spending an evening at your place, surrounded by loved ones, snuggled up under a quilt. So what makes you nuts? Being dragged out by a well-meaning friend who's decided that you "need more socializing." That's grounds for . . . well, for all kinds of things. Second, though, is having to eat someone else's cooking, which is seldom, if ever, as good as yours.

Leo:
Yours is the sign of the performer, Leo. You can turn any place into a stage, from an actual podium to a bar to the front of a classroom. What makes you crazy is one thing: someone who tries to steal your applause. You work hard to keep everyone amused and entertained, and you enjoy it as much as they do. The spotlight is only so wide, though, so when someone tries to snag some of it, you won't hesitate to show your disapproval.

Virgo:
Cleanliness. Order. Organization. That's what you need to function at your best, Virgo, in your personal surroundings, your workplace, and your daily schedule. So what drives you crazy more than anything else is filthy, unsanitary, or disorganized conditions, as well as people who exhibit those qualities. It's the dirty details where you personally see the devil - and even if you have to scrub your fingers to the bone, you will be rid of him.

Libra:
Contrary to popular opinion, your specialty, Libra, is not "balance" itself, it's restoring balance to unbalanced situations. So what you can't stand, more than anything else, is seeing lopsided, prejudiced, unfair, or discriminatory conditions. It brings out the cruise director, mediator, and judge in you. In other words, you put your own feelings aside to become whatever it takes to make things "nice" again.

Scorpio:
Your sign is famous for its love of depth, intensity, and digging below the surface. So what makes you crazier than anything is meeting up with someone who goes out of his way to be shallow, cavalier about important issues (especially the ones you feel most strongly about) and superficial. It makes you wonder what he or she is really up to - and wondering is what keeps you from getting a decent night's sleep.

Sagittarius:
You love to learn, travel, and have fun with interesting others. In short, if it's new, uncharted territory, if you feel that you're boldly going where no one has gone before - yourself in particular - then you're game. What you can't stand - what you absolutely cannot and will not tolerate, no matter what - is boredom. That's your #1 Pet Peeve. A close second? Someone who dares to tell you "no," regardless of why.

Capricorn:
When it comes to taking charge, while you may occasionally pretend you don't absolutely adore it, to be perfectly honest, you know you do - and you know we all love it when you're "driving," because you're so good at it. So what absolutely makes you nuts is having to take orders from someone who's not only less qualified than yourself, but also pitifully less suited to the position. Fortunately, that doesn't happen much, now does it?

Aquarius:
You're the rebel, the radical, and the eccentric in every group, whether it's family, friends, or your team at work. You love and cultivate those labels because of the freedom they allow you to be yourself. The worst thing, then - the very worst thing of all, in your eyes - is being pressed into a mold, being told what to do, having to obey, and being forced to act like everyone else. It's simply not acceptable - and it doesn't happen often…

Pisces:
Your specialty, Pisces, is emotions, maybe even more so than sentimental Cancer. You're comfortable sniffling and dabbing at your eyes during a sad movie (or a commercial, for that matter) and rather - no, extremely - proud of your ability to sense what's wrong with a loved one before they even realize it themselves. So what makes you most irritated is when someone tells you you're being "overly emotional." After all, in your eyes (which is what matters), can you ever be too emotional?

What if the guy had allot of scorpio or aries (or anything) in his chart, when a piece of his body became one with her's then a piece of his chart may became one with her as well, maybe even boosting her own chart.

I mean, according to Jung, it's natural for a child brought up by hard-working people to be lazy, since we are all subconsciously drawn to experience that which our parents-or tutors- have not, up to that point in their lives, or during the up-bringing period.

And I grew up in a house of workaholics, so that alone explains a lot.. my father, a Cap with Scorp Moon and Scorp or Sag Rising-not sure, is the type that cannot sit still without working on something. And I realized from an early age that, in his case, it's an issue of being useful and constantly proving his worth-which, again, can be explained through his upbringing, apart from his astrological chart. lol

Now, for me,it's not that I loathe effort. Far from that. I think that, more than anything, it's my love of detail that keeps me from getting willingly engaged into some disciplined work activity, most of the time. Because every time I pick up one thread of activity, I get focused on one line of thought, and take into account only certain types of information, and have to ignore all the rest, which is painful beyond words for my Pisces Mercury, Virgo Rising combination, which doesn't want to miss anything, and I mean ANYTHING. I'm the type of person who can spend minutes analyzing the threads that make a towel, or cut myself off completely when I listen to a bach piece and all that. I just love merging with my environment, and that makes me appear lazy at times.

I read that other house systems other than the original house system, the whole sign house system were based on errors to begin with.

The following by Chris Brennan
Whole Sign Houses:
the original house system

In no other area of astrology is there so much mess and confusion than in the area of the so-called "houses". There are at least twenty or thirty different house systems or means of dividing the so-called "birthchart" into twelve segments of life activity.

The more commonly known house systems are: Whole signs(oldest), Equal House(1st century BC), Porphyry(3rd century AD), Alcabitus(6th century), Campanus(13th century), Regiomantus(14th century), Placidus(17th century), and Koch(20th century). Others include: Meridian(Midheaven), Topocentric, Morinus, Horizontal, Geodetic, Zodiacal, Svarogish, Krusinski, and so on.

In astrology, houses, mansions, or domains, are supposed to represent general areas of life activity. They are the grounding areas or arenas of expression for the planets. There are generally twelve houses, although in extreme northern or southern lattitudes there can be ten, depending on the house system used.

In modern astrology, two important points or "angles" are generally used in the construction of houses; the ascendant degree which begins the first house, and the Midheaven degree which starts the tenth house. At equatorial latitudes these two points are generally 90 degrees apart, but the further one moves north or south the greater or lesser the distance between them, resulting in uneven and sometimes intercepted(invisible) houses.

The most common house system in use today is the Placidus system named after Placidus de Tito of the 17th century. In this system, like most others, the ascending degree starts the first house and the midheaven degree starts the tenth house. The remaining houses are then trisected on a time arc basis rather than space. The problem is the houses distort or intercept in extreme latitudes.

It seems human nature always veers towards the more complex ideas or notions in any field, ignoring the truer and simpler ones. Originally, the words "houses" and "signs" were interchangeable or meant the same thing. A planet in Aries was also a planet in the house of Aries, so that in effect. there were no real houses as we know them today.

The artificial divisions we now know as houses were attempts by the early Greeks and the Hindus to measure strength "points" in the horoscope, which at some point in time(7th and 8th centuries AD) were construed or confused as means of dividing the birth chart. The ascendant and midheaven degrees and their opposites, for example, were definite power points or areas of intense focus, but not necessarily the beginnings of a house or quadrant.

In fact, there is no real basis for the astrological houses at all. They derive from a misunderstanding of the true nature of the Ascendant and Midheaven factors in astrology, the former representing the Earth or terrestial sphere, and the latter representing the Sky, Heaven, or celestial sphere. The Ascendant is planet Earth, and the Midheaven(MC) has as its source, the Earth's inner central sun. The IC(Imum Coeli) and the descendant are merely opposite or reflex points.

If any house system should be used at all, it should be the Whole Sign House system, where the ascendant sign becomes the whole first house and the others follow. The ascendant point can then fall anywhere in the first house and the midheaven point anywhere in the upper half of the chart. The Ascendant and Midheaven, in effect, become PLANETS, which is what they truly are, and because we live on planet Earth, it is the FIRST house or primary habitation. For a description of what the houses really mean, see here http://www.librarising.com/astrology/fwa/basics2.html

The Whole Sign House system was used by the ancient Greeks and the Hindus(who still use it today). It is the oldest and simplest house system in existence, and immediateley eliminates the awful mess astrologers have made on the issue over the last 1300 years or so.

For a full explanation on whole sign houses see here.

Actually sometimes not just the sign but a conjunction to ones moon, jupiter and descendant. Although this post centers mostly around the signs.
Now, this is only a theory so far, therefore I'm interested in how well you think this fits you.

Another side of this coin which makes this post into two questions is wether the opposite signs of your moon, jupiter and descendant(in the descendants case its of course the asc) are signs that you have a hard time getting along with or hard time liking. So I want to hear your opinion on this as well.

To make it clear:

1. Are the signs of your moon, jupiter and descendant (without order) representative for the signs/people that you tend to like a little extra/find attractive?

2. How about the signs that are opposing your moon, jupiter and descendant. Are these signs that you have a hard time getting along with or have more or less trouble with in general?

I have a theory that the most important or pressing issues will be found by study of the aspects first and foremost. Perhaps we could redefine the most important issues (in relation to natal chart interpretation) by study of the aspects ONLY.

It has been my experience that the study of the aspects appear to reveal the most pressing or important issues of the individiual REGARDLESS of what sign those planets are in.

I appreciate this is controversial but I would like people to consider their natal charts by looking only at their aspects, and ignoring the signs/houses. Many may scoff and not attempt this as they KNOW they are very Piscean. But wait, check, is Neptune powerfully aspecting planets instead?

If this theory is correct it would mean that the reason we believe in the forms of astrology we do, regardless of house system and regardless of whether that be the sidereal or western zodiac, the same planets would be in the same aspects and would explain why we believe in them. We're both reading the same thign and just don't realise.

SOFT GAMMA RAY REPEATERS IN ASTROLOGY

Toward an Astrology of Magnetars
©1998-1999 by Richard Nolle

Earth - or half of it, any rate - got blasted at 10:22 UT on August 27, 1998.1 During the following five minutes, our home planet was on the receiving end of a cosmic ray barrage (of gamma-rays, X-rays and radio waves) so intense that it ionized Earth's upper atmosphere to levels normally seen only during the daytime. Researchers at Stanford University who measured the ionization described it as "the first direct evidence of a physical effect on the Earth's environment by a distant star, or by any star other than our own Sun."2

The blast came from SGR 1900+14, a newly recognized type of star called a magnetar, in the constellation Aquila (the Eagle). At its source, the phenomenal five-minute cosmic ray surge was the energy equivalent of our Sun's entire output for the next 300 years, according to UC Berkeley physicist Kevin Hurley.3 Fortunately for us, SGR 1900+14 is so far away that it took the surge of cosmic radiation over 20,000 years just to reach us. Our distance from the source of the blast was one major protective factor. Another is that Earth's upper atmosphere absorbed the lion's share of the interstellar burst. By the time it reached ground level, the intensity of that flare had been reduced to the point that anyone on the receiving end only got the equivalent of a normal dental X-ray. (Two satellites in Earth orbit, outside the protective blanket of our atmosphere, were overwhelmed by the blast. They went into automatic shutdown to preserve their shielded electronics from destruction by the onslaught of cosmic radiation.)

SGR 1900+14SGR 1900+14 is a telling nomenclature, if you know how to read the astronomical code. SGR stands for Soft Gamma-ray Repeater, and 1900+14 is the magnetar's location on the celestial sphere in Right Ascension (19h 00m) and declination (14 degrees north). In the zodiacal parlance more familiar to astrologers, this equates to 18o12' Capricorn at an ecliptic latitude of 36oN30'. SGR is a bit of a misnomer, according to magnetar co-discoverer Robert Duncan: "In fact, most SGR photons are really high-energy or 'hard' X-rays - not gamma rays at all! A more descriptive name would thus be 'hard X-ray flashers'."4 SGRs also emit radio waves, in addition to gamma- and X-rays.

Epicenter of the AUG 27, 1998 SGR 1900+14 flareMagnetar SGR 1900+14 was over the western North Pacific Ocean when its blast hit Earth. To be more precise, the burst was directly overhead at about 154E10, 14N00 - roughly halfway between Guam and Wake Island. Everyone in the terrestrial hemisphere centered on that point - including East and Southeast Asia, all of Australia and most of Alaska - got the equivalent of a dental X-ray that night, courtesy of SGR 1900+14. That's not much for a human, but it's a lot for a microbe. Given that X-rays are mutagenic, don't be surprised if the 1999-2000 edition of the Asian flu is a real viral blitzkrieg. (Gazing at the Saturn-Mars square in effect as the cosmic ray front hit - part of a Grand Cross involving Uranus, Neptune and the Moon - I rather suspect a new strain of streptococcus will soon rear its ugly head as well.) Had the magnetar been closer to Earth, the X-ray dose could have been lethal to everyone not living in a lead mine at the time. Magnetars may in fact be agents of evolutionary change here on Earth - of mass extinction, even.5

If it seems peculiar that a cosmic ray blast could reach Earth from a star over 20,000 light years away, consider the source. Magnetars are most peculiar stars, according to current astrophysical theory. They're born in a supernova, the explosion of a massive star. (All five currently known magnetars are located in or near what are called SNRs - SuperNova Remnants.) The stellar core that remains after the supernova blows off the bulk of the star is a neutron star, composed mostly of neutrons (with a trace mixture of protons and electrons). This neutron brew is so compressed by the force of gravity that a single cup of the stuff would weigh as much as a mile-high mountain on Earth. The whole neutron star can be more massive than our Sun, yet is less than 20 kilometers (about 12 miles) in diameter. And the surface of the neutron star is peculiar too: it's a half-mile thick crust of iron. The whole strange star glows brightly in the X-ray spectrum, due to the immense heat trapped within it.

All magnetars are neutron stars, but not all neutron stars are magnetars. If a neutron star is born rotating fast enough, it creates a monstrously powerful magnetic dynamo (1014 - 1015 Gauss, a thousand trillion times stronger than Earth's magnetic field). This super-strong magnetic field quickly slows down the star's rotation. Then it goes to work on the body of the star, deforming and cracking the iron crust to create 'starquakes' (analogous to earthquakes on our home planet). These starquakes drive magnetic waves outward, energizing clouds of particles surrounding the magnetar to produce a burst of radiation - thus giving rise to a normal SGR burst, which can produce as much energy in a second as our Sun does in a whole year. Normal SGR bursts, strong as they are, are not at all uncommon. SGR 1900+14 emitted over 50 of them in the last week of May 1998 alone.

Occasionally the magnetar's immensely powerful magnetic field destabilizes, giving rise to a magnetic flare analogous to the solar flares produced by our own Sun. Such a magnetic flare produces a rare super SGR burst of radiation, far stronger than the normal bursts from these peculiar stars. Astronomers now believe that it was just such a super-burst from SGR 1900+14 that hit Earth on August 27, 1998. An even stronger one - "the most intense blast of gamma rays ever detected from outside our solar system"6 - reached our home planet at 15:51 UT on March 5, 1979. It originated in SGR 0526-66, associated with a supernova remnant (SNR N49) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (the LMC, 180,000 light-years from Earth), and it was a blast of truly cosmic proportions. "In the first two-tenths of a second," calculates Duncan, "the burster radiated away as much energy as the Sun radiates in 1000 years . . . at its peak the burster was shining about 10 times brighter than all the stars in our galaxy put together."7

No one knows for sure how many magnetars there are in our galaxy. Most of them are undetectable, because magnetars have a short lifespan. Some 10,000 years after one of these spectacular bursters is born in the aftermath of a supernova, its magnetic energy begins running down. As this happens, it ceases bursting, grows cold and dark, and dies out. Duncan estimates there are at least a million (and perhaps as many as 100 million)8 of these slowly rotating dark iron stars drifting through the Milky Way . . .

There are now five known and several more suspected magnetars, and there are certainly a great many more yet undiscovered. In the suspect category are AXPs - Anomalous X-ray Pulsars - which appear to be magnetars that have yet to be observed emitting the characteristic SGR burst. (The technology to detect such stellar eruptions is now only 30 years old.) These could be magnetars in which the magnetic dynamo has run down, but with enough heat remaining in their cores to generate X-rays. Given their amply demonstrated capacity to affect Earth from truly cosmic distances, these wonderfully weird stars could prove to be a new frontier not only for astrophysics, but for astrology as well. To that end, here's a table with zodiacal coordinates (tropical zodiac, J2000 ecliptic) and a thumbnail sketch of the five currently known SGR magnetars. (Check your charts!

The following are astrological insights from Philip Sedgwick:

Also, periodically things in deep space blast us with repeating gamma rays. These bodies called Soft Gamma Ray repeaters (SGR’s not to be confused with the astronomers designation for Sagittarius) shower people with the urge to conjure up transformational events by deriving meaning from the events occurring around us. The essence of understanding occurs when a person realizes how to adjust their energy with what surrounds the body, thus creating a state of alignment. It’s a bit like watching a lizard change color to fit in with its surroundings. The most recent burst lasted 1.8 seconds and reached our sensors on April 6th. Why bother with something so short in length? These bursts can knock out satellites, disrupt cell phones and re-tweak any electromagnetic sensitive device - like a person’s chakra system for instance. http://www.mayanmajix.com/art2425.html

Personally, I believe cell phones and such ought to be banned. I use my cell phone so minimally that if it weren't for things like, "my airbus has been delayed, please reprogram your Mercedes for my pick-up time," I wouldn't use it at all. Plus I wonder... with the increasing dependence upon these devices, the proliferation of the satellites required to support the technology, what will happen when Soft Gamma Ray Repeaters and solar storms of the next solar max regardless how minimal, knock out our satellites as is suggested, will occur and has occurred in the past? Can you image if for two days the entire cell phone/satellite system dropped off line? Could it be Twitter Twilight? http://snoedel.punt.nl/?id=467972&r=1&tbl_archief=&

I'm wondering if there is a way to calculate a more accurate birth time if someone was not born on the meridian of a time zone. For example the hour's difference between the Maine end of EST until it reaches Central. I'm asking because four minutes would make the difference between me having an Aries versus a Pisces rising sign, which I feel more aligned to. Thanks for your help!

I wanna open this thread to invite a chart-reading session, like we've had before(you do mine, I do yours - kind of exercise), in the WHOLE SIGN house system, though. I don't think I need to tell anybody here, but just in case, you can have your chart done in the whole sign system on www.astro.com, in the "extended chart selection"-section.

So, the point is, we read each other's charts and see how accurate the reading is. And hopefully, if it sheds light on some undiscovered issues of our psychological make-up...

Of course, it also depends a great deal on how different the whole sign chart is from the Placidus chart..and it my case, it's a LOT different.

I find my whole sign chart a lot more accurate, especially in the descriptions of house rulers in houses-according to cafeastrology.com, which you can find here: http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/rulersofhousesinhouses.html AND in planetary transits.

But also in the general descriptions of the planets in houses, which you can find..on about a million sites on the web, but the ones I found most relevant are: this- http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/planetsinhouses.html

this- http://astrology-numerology.com/inhouses.html ; or this- http://www.astrologyweekly.com/learn-astrology/planets-in-houses.php

Now, here's MY whole sign chart, for anyone who wants to give it a go: http://people.tribe.net/487fd771-d1a6-4132-b909-966191b9e505/photos/1fc248c4-2586-4ef2-8116-f7ddd513cb5f

The transits are also marked there. I say we keep it to natal interpretations, for now, but I'd like to open a separate thread on transits according to whole sign charts, if this goes well..

On final approach, the shepherding spacecraft and Centaur will separate. The Centaur will act as a heavy impactor to create a debris plume that will rise above the lunar surface. Projected impact at the lunar South Pole is currently: Oct 9, 2009 at 4:30 a.m. PDT. Following four minutes behind, the shepherding spacecraft will fly through the debris plume, collecting and relaying data back to Earth before impacting the lunar surface and creating a second debris plume. >
"Who's the biggest diva? Find out next week... on The Hills!"

I mean really, if you take your average materialistc, attention-loving, people pleasing Libran, and pair her with a demanding, egotistical, tantrum throwing Leo... i think it would quickly become a competition between the two. Both display "Divaesque" qualites, libra is vain and leo is prideful.

Personally, i could never see myself with a Leo male. I know Leo men "Like" to be the boss... but I AM the boss, there ain't no changin' that, i dominate everywhere i go. Hey, maybe it just wouldn't work for me because i'm not willing to submit to leo's pride, and a leo male wouldn't be willing to submit to mine, which is a must for me.

Are there any Libra-Leo partnerships in the house? Is there firey, passionate chemistry at first? What is the actual relationship like? But most importantly, how long does it last?

I wanna start a debate on this, although there have been minor debates on this issue on a more or less obvious level, throughout the astrology tribe. I'm talking about the issue of "depth", "heaviness", "density", "substance" etc etc.
What aspects or elements in a chart can point out to a heavy feeling nature/attitude towards life? I know there are theories, but I'd like to hear from people's first-hand experiences. The truth is you can only really understand an energy when it takes over you.

I, for one, always had a heavy emotional side, though fluid, with my 3 natal planets in Pisces and an accentuated 4th house, but since Saturn's been transiting my 1st house, it's gotten way worse. At least, I think it's Saturn. It's in my 1st, conjunct my AC, and opposite my Sun right now.
Then, I also have T Uranus conjunct N Sun and N DC, but Uranus is just a very hectic, jolt-like type of energy, that can animate flesh, at most, but not give it life.

THEN, I also have T Neptune starting to make a wide, 6 degree orb square to my N Moon-Mars-Jupiter in 0 degree Gemini...and from my experience of almost 2 years ago, when T Saturn squared the same cluster of natal planets, I tend to feel transits to my "cluster" most powerfully.

So, if that's true, then Neptune must be, as I intuited, the no.1 influence in "heavy" energy.

I mean, most of the time I was able to joggle between my states of emotionalism and states of bubble-headed light-heartedness, coming from my Gemini cluster.
Looking back at my transits, the cluster was only under long-term "outside influence" one time before, and that was when Pluto was in late Scorp, early Sag, in the late 90s, early 00s.. and that was again another period in which my light-heartedness was out of reach. I remember it was impossible for me to control my emotions back then..of course, partly also because I was a child, basically. But still, I remember I was easily ruled by violent emotions and that I was generally very intense.

So now..I am basically a bog. I thought it would be easier for me to let shit slide for others once I stopped being depressed and could keep my head above my own emotions, but nooo, not even close. In fact, I'm getting even less tolerant and patient wen it comes to superficiality-which is about 80% of what constitutes most people's lives, according to Neptune. I can't even laugh at people's faults anymore. I am truly DEAD-serious.
And while my usual emotionalism just poured out of me, like spring water, this new, post-depression emotionalism is heavy and slow and filled with lots of debris of other demons, like anger, revenge, frustration, fear of deception, fear of disappointment etc. The best way to visualize it is to visualize hot lava coming down a mountain slope.
Could this be Saturn's work?

I must aadmit I've been prejudiced against Saturn for a long time..I always thought I didn't need that kind of energy, but now I've realized how much I do. And, frankly, if it weren't for the fact that it makes me annoyingly attentive to social pressures/responsibilities, and forced me back into accepting terms like "embarrassing", "undisciplined", "irrelevant", "useless" into my vocabulary, I'd like it in my 1st house forever! Oh, and I also find that I can't get into a good mood automatically since Saturn entered my 1st. Nor can I just visualize myself holding whatever it is I want, without constantly worrying about now knowing how to get it.Soo.. "The Secret" doesn't apply for people with heavy Saturn placements...lol

TRUE ZODIAC

In inspecting the zodiac, one finds out that there are in fact 22 zodiacal stations1 in all. These zodiacal stations are the veritable zodiac. Since it can be inspected by scientific means, this zodiac has been named Academic Zodiac, as perused by astronomers but also astrologers. The horoscope is thus the veritable blueprint of one's true natal skies.

EASTERN ASCENDANT

The ascendant is measured at east. The guardian angel is the eastern star. The astrologer is initiated by an inorganic being such as one's own guardian angel. Much as theurgy, astrology requires due initiation. The Art surely could not be absorbed from books, mostly because astrological books never existed. As Europe never had any astrologer at all, only rare theurgists dabbled into this forgotten Art. The present epoch offers a modest set of only 16 eastern ascendants. As the precession of the ascendants remains a mystery for the general public, the knowledge of such a basic process can rightfully be marked as sheer initiation.

DIABOLIC ZODIACS

In order to rule2, the lord of this planet must have at least one uniform disinformation for all human beings. A rather ingenious device plays asinine tricks upon humankind as a whole. It is called the zodiac. It is a known thing that the devil is at odds with mathematics and particularly solar system dynamics. The inorganic double crossed humankind, not only with the 12 signs, but also with a futile difference between the eastern and western zodiac.

FALSE ZODIACS

Both eastern and western zodiacs are of course pure fancy. Anybody believing in the 12 signs is already a sick person. Of course, people naively persist in their asinine belief. Such a belief is not theirs at all, like most items in their own lives. They are not living their own lives at all. Default mind tells them what to do and all do the same thing.

UNIFORM DEVIL

The devil was never interested in mere partial conquest. On touchdown, it encompassed the planet in choosing the best food for its colons and scouts. The food was to be us. What the lord of this world was about was total annihilation of humanity3, apart from its being using it as fuel and food. Namely, the devil feeds upon thriving passions in a human being, but most prominently the innocent emanations of a baby. The massive production of babies is in fact fostered by the inorganic pests and plague of humankind. This is more or less the report as given by King Solomon in his intercourse with four kings of hell, as recently illustrated in brief by such works as Matrix the movie or Dark City.

2In order to survive and eat. The devil feeds upon astral emanation from human emotion, especially stress, sexual passion and sheer doubt. Tao does not feed the devil, but yin-yang does. Therefore the default mind is called binary mind.

3Magick man has almost disappeared. It survives as “shaman”, if there is such breed spared on this planet. Masonry is almost entirely useless. A grand Mason nowadays can not even orientate the temple because the ascendant and position of the Sun remains something unknown to Masonry as it still lingers on to this day.

This is just tooo accurate..they say the hour ascendant shows the true you-the core. And according to the description on this site, mine is about 75% spot on. And that's just the hour sign, without adding the influences of my year sign-thought to be the greatest single influence on one's personality-, month and day ascendants, and their respective elements.

Check yours out. I'm curious to see what you think.

here's the sign description for women: http://www.astrologizeme.com/signs_women.shtml

and men: http://www.astrologizeme.com/signs_men.shtml

These are descriptions for the year sign, actually, but I don't think they would suffer any modifications when applied to hour ascendants.

the hour ascendant is fixed, each sign gets a two hour interval. Dragon is from 7 to 9 am, Snake is from 9 to 11 am, Horse is from 11 am to 1 pm, Goat is from 1 to 3 pm, Monkey is from 3 to 5 pm, Rooster is from 5 to 7 pm, Dog is from 7 to 9 pm, Pig is from 9 to 11 pm, Rat is from 11 pm to 1 am, Ox is from 1 to 3 am, Tiger is from 3 to 5 am, Rabbit or Cat is from 5 to 7 am.

You can get a lot more info from the general site, about elements and stuff: http://www.astrologizeme.com/basics-chinese.shtml#0

And here you can get a short free personality analysis based on element preponderance in Chinese Astrology, where you can also find out all of your Ascendants-by year, month, day and hour, together with their elements:

http://chinesehoroscopeonline.com/PersonalityTest.htm

So, for extra accuracy on understanding your "basic personality" you should also read the descriptions for sign/element combinations, in addition to the general sign description for men/women.
Outer planets symbolize society, authority and the larger things in life like generations, cities, the masses etc. and the 12th house is among other things the hidden and subconscious but still not on the personal level since it's above the horizon (houses above the horizon are the "social" houses that involves the relations with others).

going back to cafeastrology.com, I payed more attention to their articles on the Nodal Axis in a chart, and I came across an interesting approach:

"Ruler of the North and South Nodes

For further insight into the lessons of the Nodes of the Moon, look to the ruling planet of each Node's sign. For example, to shed further light onto our South Node tendencies, look to the planet that rules the sign of our South Node, and determine its sign. This sign position will suggest how we tend to act out our South Node tendencies. Similarly, the sign of the ruler of our North Node will show us how we might go about learning the lessons inherent in our North Node.

An example: If my South Node is in Libra, the ruling planet of Libra is Venus. My Venus is in Leo. Because the South Node is in Libra, I may have a tendency to fall back on partnerships and to fear standing alone, thus getting myself tangled up in co-dependent, imbalanced relationships. How do I do this? In a Leonine way! This adds an element of pride to the whole picture. I may hold on to my relationships with pleasure, priding myself on my ability to be loyal and stick with a partner; nevertheless, my relationships suffer from my inner imbalance unless I learn the lessons of my North Node in Aries.

If my North Node is in Aries, the ruling planet of Aries is Mars, and my Mars is in Sagittarius. Because my North Node is in Aries, I need to learn to develop my ability to stand alone, to act on impulse, and to feel good about myself whether I am in a partnership or not. The Sagittarius flavor suggests how I might do that. Perhaps I might need to travel away from my homestead in order to learn that I can stand on my own; perhaps I need to broaden my perspective in relationships by broadening my personal/physical horizons; perhaps I need to get away somehow, be adventurous, in order to learn to love myself and to develop more confidence in myself. I need to tap into my more bold, outgoing, adventurous, and intuitive personality (Sagittarius) in order to define myself and build my confidence (Aries)."

full article on Nodes, here: http://www.cafeastrology.com/nodesofthemoon.html

This might be especially useful for people who have their Nodes in opposite energies by sign and house, like me.

I have South Node in Virgo, in the 12th house, and North Node in Pisces, in the 6th house. Now, please correct me, if I'm rushing into conclusions, but this reinforces the idea that astrology is not part of what I should be doing with my life, despite my belief in its efficiency.

Mercury, which rules my South Node, is in 3 degrees Pisces, conjunct my North Node(and Vertex, but I don't know what that could show)! I tend to interpret this as a warning that I tend to get fatalistic in view, and believe that my life already has a set purpose(ruler of south node conjunct North Node).
South Node being in the 12th also tends o suggest I never got to do anything practical with my talent in past lives. Now, Neptune, ruler of my North Node(friggin' complicated nodal axis, this one!) is in Capricorn, almost exactly conjunct Saturn in Capricorn..in other words, it's a very Capricornian Neptune. And, again, Saturn is the biggest DIY influence in astrology, if I'm not mistaken. Capricorn doesn't take anything for granted, and believes in building its own destiny.

So, judging by this, the way to "reach the Promised Land"-lol-is by taking everything in my own hands, and just work on making it happen, instead of getting caught up in worries, or imaginary complications that are not even there...as opposed to embracing blind faith and indulging in activities that bring no concrete results..right?

And if this were indeed true, does it not exclude study of astrology?
