Calculating proper Orbs with Declinations

I was wondering if most of you are Calculating proper Orbs with Declinations?

For if one watches the skies, one can see clearly that sometimes 'the book' says:
there is a conjunction between two planets, for example, but adding their relative declinations, they are wide apart, that is, over 10 degrees, thus assuredly,
per definition, thus NOT in conjunction...

I find this very important, and wonder what you guys had to say about it.

Bill Meridian used to dabble in Johndro/Jayne declination directions but the sad school was never appreciated, thus they all decided to die bitter astrologers. Myself I had to monkey with 19 degrees (between Moon in Pisces and Eris in Cetus) because the market wants conjunctions. Orbs are a sure landmark of catastrophic error. One will need years to discover how much error lies behind a single proclamation of orb. Orb in itself is error. But then life is error in itself like a ship strayed off from the landmarks, the lighthouses of God.
