There will be a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on July 7 and a Total Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22. Would you like to discuss both of these? -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 9:35 AMyeah, this eclipse series hits home....BOOM
I have natal sun moon opposition and that is where the eclipse hits. Sun will be on my moon exact, in my 6th house. Transiting moon will be on my sun in my 12th house. So the full moon basically is opposite of my natal moon.
Work AND new home issues, separation all in the last few months
Still reeling...and wondering whats coming with these two...
The july 22 eclipse new moon in my 6th house. It is the apex between a yod formed to my natal mercury (ruler of 5th and 8th) and nodal axis. Not quite sure whats going to result from that either
Transits have really been surprising me, how they have been manifesting for me
Astrology is a fun tool for watching life events after the fact; but i gave up on trying to analyze what will exactly go on with things, its just too complex :P All i ever can see is what general area might get influenced...and even then i can be off. I have the weird up-north houses and never sure which house is getting hit by things. It seems like when i look at it, it tends to be both (which makes no sense to me.,..but...anyway)

I imagine this is pretty powerful for you!
I am starting to think that these sorts of transits hit even harder when they somehow reflect the natal chart in some sort of reconfigured way.
I imagine that there would be potential for some emotional and otherwise personal healing since this is in house 6 and 12 ... and with the moon - sun conjunction instead of the opposition (or in addition) - maybe an opportunity to kick your natal sun opposite moon into a strong balance?

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 12:36 PMI'm anticipating Neith's upcoming article from realastrologers.com on this subject. The eclipse is going to occur in a conjunction to my natal sun (28 deg cancer) and mercury (1 deg leo) in 3rd house, and opposition to my moon (25 deg cap).... effectively it will probably activate the dominating t-square I have between my sun/moon opp and pluto in my 3rd/9th/6th houses :( I haven't read much about eclipses though so I don't have any idea what it could mean. -

Re: Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 1:16 PMSolar Eclipses always occur at a New Moon, just as all Lunar Eclipses always happen at a Full Moon. As such, this Solar Eclipse would signify points to initiate plans and actions in matters concerning the House it is in and the planets and aspects it affects.
New Moons are times to initiate plans and actions, and, happening with an eclipse, I would think it is fair to figure that this New Moon may pack more than the usual bang for its buck. Eclipses are crisis points, but a lunar eclipse is of a more personal nature than a solar eclipse and is less conscious. Solar Eclipses are often associated with more communal, even global events, so it could be that whatever it is you initiate during this New Moon/Eclipse you may also see reflected at the next Full Moon on a larger stage than your just your personal one. -

Re: Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 2:19 PMThanks Ami! The lunar eclipse on the 7th occurs when the moon is conjunct my mars in the 8th house and trine venus...and then the lunar eclipse on August 6th will be conjunct my Midheaven exactly.... add that to the sun/solar eclipse conjunction on the 22nd... with transit NN conjunct my moon... ohhh.
This should be an intense month. Maybe I'll fall in love or someone will fall in love with me, or I'll initiate something that will change the way I feel about my identity. Maybe with the midheaven involved, it will change how others see me as well. It will be interesting to see what happens...

Re: Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 3:13 PMBy the time of the Full Moon following the Solar Eclipse, something very dynamic could be ready to appear. With that Full Moon also coincident with an eclipse and conjunct your MC, I would expect it to be significant. Knowing that, you can work with the Solar Eclipse to try to effect a very powerful realization of some aspiration, and you can focus on that from July 22 through the intervening period leading up to that next charged Full Moon. Actually, we all can do that in some fashion. Always be careful of what you wish for ~ lol.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 6:24 PMThe July 7th eclipse will be 2 degrees conjunct my Sun in Cap (5th house ) and then then the July 22 eclipse will be 1 degree opposite my mercurcy in cap and 2 degrees conjunct my venus in aquarius (both in 6th house).
Lots of interesting things going on now....a job position i have been working on creating at my company for over a year looks close to be finally approved and 2 weeks ago found out my roomate and I have to move after 3 years in an apt. so def some changes....

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Wed, July 1, 2009 - 6:42 PMThe eclipse will be happening opposite the midpoint between my Capricorn moon and my ascendant. My Capricorn moon at 15 degrees is on the cusp of the 11th house, the house of hopes and wishes, friends and connections. I have a feeling that a project with regards to that will come into being between the 5th to 6th house; something to do with fun and romance and the working environment.

Thu, July 2, 2009 - 1:45 PMgo to "free horoscopes" page and look to the bottom right corner where it says "extended chart selection" there you can choose various options, like the type of chart, date, etc. go down to the date box and change the date to the day of the eclipse, then view the chart. up in the right corner of the chart window that appears is a link that says "view with transits". Select that to see the transits imposed on the chart... you can view the exact aspects by selecting "view additional PDF" ... note I might be wrong on some of the exact wording of things cos this is from memory!

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Thu, July 2, 2009 - 6:35 PMAhh ... thanks for the heads up Lady!
I think I should start praying now haha!
Transiting sun+moon + natal jupiter -retro
quincunx transiting neptune+jupiter+chiron - all retro
This I have been associating with the spiritual practices I plan to take up or set aside for a time when I go away to school. I wonder what it means on July22 before I am actually there? Maybe the right path will precipitate?
transiting mars in taurus H12 conjunct natal ascendant
transiting sedna in taurus H12 opposite natal uranus-retro
To me this seems to indicate some sort of conflict or rebellion or battle within H12 that will hit me very close ... something otherworldly and institutional. Will astronuts finally crucify me for being Christian? (haha just kidding ... ) Will some other trauma or sudden insight or situation bring about a change in my habits?
grand cross
transiting venus gemini H1
transiting saturn virgo H4 conjunct natal Nnode
transiting Quaoa sagittarius H7 conjunct natal neptune
natal pisces H12
This continues echoing the theme of spiritual/philosophical challenges that are a risk to my self in some way (cross ... crucifixion) but hold great potential for love in action and growth. I feel I should start praying now in order to get through the time coming up!
I also noticed that transiting veruna is conjunct natal moon in H2 cancer
And natally I have varuna conjunct ascendant almost exactly - how ever did I miss that for all this time!?
I looked up varuna for some time - another spiritually directed (specifically towards God as I understood it) signature. I have set off on quite an ambitious path and promised myself a lot of things ... will I start making headway in these things? Will I find that I need to re-order my plans to some higher order?
Anyway - it seems that in my case a lot of spiritual/philosophical movement will be underway with this eclipse on July 22nd.
On July7 I didn't notice much of a pattern that stood out to me.
Maybe the choices I make between July7 - July21 will somewhat shape just what precipitates and just how much progress I am able to make by July 22 ... it could be as simple as that?
It doesn't seem totally obvious to me but it seems like a good excuse to pray more.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Fri, July 10, 2009 - 6:25 AMAm on a roll. This is also a note to say that Saturn does reward you and well if you learn your lessons well.
Transiting full moon lunar eclipse on Capricorn exact degree to my natal moon is in trining to transiting Saturn just rolling past the exact degrees of my natal Saturn. Moon on the cusp of 12th house, Saturn in the 7th house.
Karma payback time: I have been practically swamped with contracts from new clients that I have been courting as early as the beginning of the year. I have done some pro bono work that they have been impressed with, also the fact that I have attempted to build a relationship with the long haul in mind.
Also, my book, which I have been working on from end of last year with much pain and perseverance in between moments of ebbing and flowing inspiration has received a grant from an arts council.
But Saturn delays my gratification yet again...he says set my structure up first before I can think of holiday plans! It looks that I will be too busy for that break! -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Fri, July 10, 2009 - 9:17 AMYup I'm not the sort to work through long term relationships if I can't see immediate benefits. I was working more or less pro bono with these newly acquired clients for a while to expand on my portfolio as old clients could not afford to hire me. Wasn't expecting the returns to be so immediate. Saturn is in the 7th house of relationships with partners and also business! Thanks riptide! -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 13, 2009 - 9:35 PMI actually have yet to get "into" lunar cycles because they seem so frequent, that it's almost like a whole other science to study outside of astrology itself. The July 7th eclipse, for me, was a scenario of the moon being in the 7th House in loose opposition to my ASC, the Sun and Mercury and, it looks like, semi-sextile natal H6 Neptune and square H4 Pluto. I can't really put my finger on how things have changed for me, internally and personally, since the lunar eclipse. No relationship endings or beginnings. BUT, I can say, that I am suddenly more acutely aware of how and the many ways that I present my Self to others.
The July 22nd solar eclipse will be on my H1/H2 border and conjunct my natal Jupiter in Leo and therefore squaring natal Mars, Mercury and Venus in H10.
This will actually be my very first solar eclipse as a budding/practicing astrologer. I don't know what to expect. I read that eclipses play out over time. I'm guessing natal Jupiter will enhance the energy of the solar eclipse, or atleast the seeds/creative new beginnings that will be sown. With the squares to H10, I'm in the air. Being that I'm still unemployed since being laid off (thanks, Uranus conj MC), I don't know if that aspect will deal with career. Perhaps, public stature or image? -

Uranus is a trailblazer. Is this natal Uranus or transiting Uranus that is in conjunction with your MC? Is there a unique out of the ordinary talent that you have put on the backburner that you should be wielding at the moment? Look out for changes and opportunities on the horizon, especially with the lunar eclipse coming on the 22nd of this month!

Re: New Moon Soloar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 7:42 PMTransiting Mercury will be conjunct my Natal Uranus in 11H Leo. It will join my natal Uranus in opposing my 5H Aqua Moon/Chiron conjunction. Transiting Uranus, meanwhile, will still be parked on my natal 7H Pisces Mars, which opposes my 1H Virgo Mercury, and, of course, they will also be in opposition to Transiting Saturn in Virgo 1H.
This looks to me like an image of a kind of issue of teetering communication. Could also involve some electronics issues. With Uranus now Rx, it doesn't surprise me that I get a retrograde feeling of it, too, involving Mercury. Actually, almost everything BUT Mercury is in retrograde. LOL!

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 8:35 PMits my understanding that a solar eclipse can only happen during a new moon.
the eclipse happens when the moon goes directly between sun & earth.
the transiting nodes are significant. the closer the nodes are to the planetary conjunction in a solar eclipse (new moon) or the opposition in a lunar eclipse (full moon), then it is more likely a total eclipse.
example is on the 22nd is a total eclipse, where the sun and moon will met at 29 cancer 27 and
the transiting north node/south node is at 0 aquarius 13 / 0 leo 13. -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 12:07 AM
yeah...I got confused by the thread's title that said full moon lunar eclipse in cancer on July 22nd
yep...lunar eclipse is Sun and Moon in both opposition and contraparallel
pretty much an enhanced full moon
solar eclipse is Sun and Moon in both conjunction and parallel
pretty much an enhanced new moon
so any ways...the solar eclipse will be in my 11th house trining my Neptune in 1'48 Sagittarius in 3rd
I am not sure if anything significant will happen in my life that reflects the solar eclipse
the solar eclipse is also squaring the heliocentric chiron nodes in 29'28 Aries
so there can be a focus on matters of wounds, healing, and being a maverick. -

oh yes & dont forget the last of the aquarius/leo eclipses is to happen at the end of the first week in august around 14 degrees!
7/22 solar eclipse in 10th house, the transiting moon blocks out the transiting sun in 10th house & opposes 4th house natal sun
8/6 lunar eclipse in 5th house, the transiting sun conjunct my natal moon in my 11th house & blocks out transiting moon in 5th house.

makaranda, eclipse orbs are quite debated aren't they? I would suggest the intuitive method ; ) If you can feel it, it is in orb...
The July 7, 2009 eclipse was 4 degrees from my S Node. My N Node is Cancer, 11th house, conjunct the fixed star,Sirius. The last few weeks have seen the Sun and Mercury transiting my 11th house.

Well - the good news is that emotions tend to be fleeting ... with all your libra energy - maybe those high-tide emotions could kick up some great ammunition for the formation of some beautiful pearls of wisdom and art - if you can just hold them in and process them, right?
I myself went a bit emotional for a brief moment yesterday afternoon. Luckily my tribe account inextricably shut down on me right as I was about to post my "crazy" post haha! I got over it fast and I think that it was all for the best - but I couldn't get into tribe at all last night so I thought my ideas about getting booted off tribe from the post above might have actually gone into effect!

Whoa - are you saying that there are recurring dreams about churches or were 2 of the dreams out of the 14+ you had this week about churches?

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 9:12 AMLady Saber,
Thanks for that comment regarding Uranus in my chart. I was speaking of transiting Uranus on my MC. My natal Uranus (in Scorpio) is in the 5th House and, now that you mentioned it, that WOULD seem to point to a certain talent (method of creation) that I have perhaps allowed to lie dormant (Scorpio) and needs to be uncovered and nurtured.
In terms of July 22nd. I've spent time perusing some of the links you guys posted (Thanks! They were a big help for this lunar cycle novice!) and I noticed that the eclipse will not only be tightly conj my natal Jup at 2 Leo, but also Quintile natal Taurus Sun (birthing/creation Earth energy), square natal H10 Merc, Mars and Venus (responsibilty in what I "put out there," perhaps?), sextile natal Libra moon (emotive drive/security working in tandem) and trine the aforementioned natal Uranus in H5.
That looks to me like a heavy emphasis on realization of self worth and the need for trusting ones' self (both Taurus and Cancer) and laying foundations of something(s) new (this also being my Saturn Return, and Saturn ruled Jul 7 lunar eclipse). Jupiter's association with the eclipse probably brings a heightened level of awareness of all these energies.
Lady, you also mentioned emotions running high lately. I've noticed that, too. Kind of odd, considering the lunar eclipse in Cap (not the most outwardly emotional of signs), but the air has seemingly been quite charged. I've noticed alot of strangers snapping at eachother in the streets! And around the time of Jul 7th eclipse I had this sort of odd, 3-day period where I really didn't wanna leave my room. It was quite strange. -
-
Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 10:04 AMIt was a lunar return for me with the first eclipse, derrick, perhaps that's why it's more charged for me than others :-) Now the transiting moon must have just past approaching the exact degrees opposing my natal moon in Capricorn at 15 degrees.

Mon, July 20, 2009 - 1:00 PM"Whoa - are you saying that there are recurring dreams about churches or were 2 of the dreams out of the 14+ you had this week about churches?"
lol--2 of them had churches with dancing children, and in one of them i performed also.
And it does sound funny, but I really have had about at least 10 dreams a week!
Transiting sun and mercury are also in my 12th, so might not even be the eclipse. But I don't feel this one changing me yet--I felt the one on July 7th much more. We'll see!
I hope your surprises are good ones! -

It may not be an either-or!
In fact it is probably a combination of both and all the rest, too!

Well - good is an interesting word hehe!
Let's say that I intend to find good in them if I can ;-) -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 6:42 PMSolar eclipse falls in my 5th house. The only significant aspects it makes are sesquiquadrates to my N.Node/Ceres/Ascendant conjunction (13 Pisces 13, 15 Pisces 11, 15 Pisces 11 respectively.) It also falls in the 5th house of the eclipse chart where I live
Unless you count my progressed Moon (26 Cap 22) opposition progressed Mars (27 Can 57).
The reason I mention that is because the eclipse Mars (6 Gem 58) opposes my natal Moon 7 Sat 07, and where I'm living, the eclipse Ascendant/Descendant axis squares that Mars and my Moon.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 8:02 PMThe solar eclipse trines my Sun at 29 32 Pisces and my Mars at 26 35 Scorpio. Venus in the eclipse chart conjuncts my MC and trines my moon. Both of this month's eclipses actually look real good for me and so far nothing bad has happened. I could use a break from the grotesque Saturn and Pluto transits I've had!
I have both Neptune and Jupiter (solar rulers) in Capricorn and my 4th house so I'm really excited about the Cancer/Cap eclipses. I have no planets in Aqua or Leo so I didn't feel these eclipses via the energies of these signs. They were just a continuation of the hellish nightmare crap of the Pisces/Virgo eclipses-since Aqua rules my sixth and Leo my twelfth. I've had it up to here with 12th/6th house stuff infiltrating into my 1st house/7th house (and vice versa) seeing I'm a sun in Pisces seventh house, Virgo rising and I naturally have enough of all that....
Anyone else have a solar eclipse trine sun?

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Mon, July 20, 2009 - 8:06 PMI think this eclipse will most likely have a major effect on us all though, even if indirectly, seeing as it is the longest eclipse until 2150.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:31 PMI can't see a moon at all. I've been outside just right after 9pm and no moon. My brother can't see a moon either. I thought it would be like a solar eclipse where you could see the moon phase out then in again. I guess not? -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:52 PMFirst of all, the title of this thread is incorrect. Secondly, Solar Eclipses happen in New Moons, not Full Moons, so this is a New (dark) Moon that you wouldn't see anyway. Thirdly, in order to see a Solar Eclipse, it would have to be daytime where you are living. And fourthly, this is a Solar Eclipse in Cancer ~ the last Lunar Eclipse on July 7 was in Capricorn, not Cancer.
The next Lunar Eclipse will occur on August 5-6, depending on your time zone. It will be in Aquarius, so will trigger off the eclipses we had in Leo and Aquarius in January and February. -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:02 PMHere is a little cheat sheet:
Solar Eclipses = New Moon = seen only when it is day where you live
Lunar Eclipses = Full Moon = seen only when it is night where you live
You may see footage from India on the news for this eclipse.
From an esoteric perspective, New Moons are times to formulate intentions that you wish to have manifest. Full Moons are times of manifestations. So now would be a good time to send out your prayers. I am sure many people are focusing their intent on employment and financial improvements with this particularly potent eclipse in the picture. I suggest that the Sign (Cancer) be taken into account as well, so those intentions and petitions could be couched in Cancerian terms.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:45 PMLet me get this straight. There is no Lunar Eclipse tonight and what I was standing outside watching was a solar eclipse which I couldn't see because it's dark out. Am I right?
These 'lunar' eclipse threads for July 22 have really confused me. -
-
Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:49 PMsecsip, the title is incorrect...it is a new moon eclipse, therefore probably difficult to see ? -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 6:55 PMI didn't see a moon at all and still can't see the moon. My brother called me and said, "There's no moon out tonight, there are stars but no moon."
I'm very confused. -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:05 PMSecSip ~
You can't see a New Moon. It is dark because it has completely waned. As it begins to wax again, you see it in its phases. -
-
Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:10 PMThe phases of the moon are measured from dark to dark ~ New Moon to New Moon, with the Full Moon as a kind of climax.
Here is a cool site where you can follow the phases day by day:

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:28 PMThat's great. So, at the next eclipse in August, you will know that the moon will be full, too. Depending upon where people live, they may or may not be able to see the eclipse, however.

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:25 PMI found this interesting site:
cosmicguidelinesblog.blogspot.com/2...ml
Here is a summary from that site:
>>>
There will be six eclipses in 2009, and that's more than usual. An average year has four. But it fits doesn't it, this feeling of a new era, so of course there are more eclipses to boost the change. The first two eclipses will happen on January 26 (6° Aquarius), just as Jupiter enters Aquarius, and February 9,(20° Leo) just after the second pass of Saturn opposed Uranus. The next three eclipses will be July 7 (15° Capricorn), and then a Total Solar Eclipse (29° Cancer) will pass over China, where the earthquake was last year. The third Eclipse of Summer in the Northern hemisphere will be August 6, (13° Aquarius). The final eclipse happens just before the year ends on New Years Eve (10° 'Cancer).
>>>
It hadn't occurred to me until I looked at this site ...
But I have jupiter @29 cancer and venus @ 6 (rounded) aquarius H9 ... I always associated this opposition with my enthusiastic love for philosophy and religion ... and a love for learning in general. I wonder ... it isn't clear!
I am still learning about this myself a little, actually (at least the connection between eclipses and charts and astrology)
I noticed that in the charts I looked at eclipses appeared as conjunctions or oppositions between sun and moon.
I think the conjunction is a solar eclipse - the sun and moon line up with the moon blocking the sun's light.
I think the opposition is the lunar eclipse - the earth gets in between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light.
I think I am remembering that right. -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:36 PMThat's correct, riptide. Take a glance at that website I posted on the eclipse. It explains why this solar eclipse will be so strong ~ it will be the longest eclipse of the 21st Century. -

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Fri, July 24, 2009 - 9:10 PMMaybe its just me - but it did seem like this was quite an unusual year (and not just because of there being more eclipses than usual) .. and it does feel quite different now after the eclipse for whatever reason (it seems like a lot of things that had been building for some time have come together surrounding the dates of this eclipse).
From here it seems like "full speed ahead" on all the changes and on life lived in a new way!

Re: Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer on July 22nd
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 7:39 AMThe next eclipse will be exactly on my ascendant. I think one of last year's eclipses was also on my ascendant. 13 degrees Aquarius.
