Gemini with Pisces? Would it work?

topic posted Thu, January 10, 2008 - 9:22 AM by  Paul
hi guys,

I'm a Gemini, my chart is in my pics (08th june 1985, 18:15, Dublin, Ireland), and i was wondering how compatible I am to someone born March 5th 1983, waterford Dublin, time unknown.

I'd really appreciate someone letting me know.

Our sun-signs are from totally different places, water and air, but we both share duality.

What would our relationship be like, favorable or not?

There are a lot of factors to consider when discussing compatibility- besides the synastry of the planets, what each party wants or is willing to accept in a relationship. On a very basic level, Pisces and Gemini are square to one another. The square, of course, is a dynamic aspect (some might say "stressful"). Some individuals want a relationship with a lot of activity, tension (in the best sense of the word), and challenges; others do not.
I am a Pisces and did date a Gemini once.....I found it very challenging and it didn't work for me.

If you want quick answers try inputing the info in a web site like cafeastrology.com or download an astrology program or something. :)

I only go for the gals where it says "negative aspect" all the way down... and its why I'm single. ;)

8th of june and 5th of march is a square. That's a pretty big challenge in itself, but there are countless other factors to be looked at. U really need to get her time of birth.

It sounds like if it works it could be one of the greatest growth periods of your lives if you both stayed open during the challenges.

For sure having someone who really knew what they were talking about ~ not me! ~ could be most beneficial.

            LOL. Right. Or his.

My apologies, Paul. Ur ascendant in 10 degrees Scorpio trines her Sun in 13 degrees Pisces. That's a powerful sign of compatibility and mutual attraction.

Buut..her Moon in 26 degrees of Scorpio squares ur Moon in 29 degrees of Aquarius. That means ur emotional temperaments are very different. She's very intense and jealous, whereas u're probably more relaxed and light-hearted about most things. So u're likely to argue cuz u don't "feel" each other accurately. Meaning ur moods won't correspond most of the time.

And ur Mercury in Gemini is square her Pisces Sun. That pretty much means u don't get her basic self, her deepest wants and needs, aspirations and temperament. And probably don't agree with her behavior in some parts.
So that's another sign of conflict.

On the other hand, her Mercury is conjunct ur Moon, showing emotional understanding on her part. U probably feel like u can talk to her about ur unexpressed feelings, and she's probably a good listener, so this is another reason why u might enjoy each other's company.

Her Mercury is trine ur Mars and square ur Saturn, showing that u probably enjoy arguing and intellectual debates, but also that u might have a depressing effect on her psyche. That's a real bummer for a Pisces. She'll be looking for someone who can lift her spirits, cuz she can get depressed by herself.

Be careful not to be overly serious or complain too much about ur problems, cuz she'll get weary very quickly.

On the other hand, the fact that u have a Scorp Rising, with Pluto conjunct ur Asc and Venus opposition Asc shows that she might see u as a sensitive, deeply emotional person.

But with ur Sun and Mercury in Gemini, u're probably not...this is just to warn u that she might be attracted to the image u project, rather than ur true self.

            That's largely what I've noticed.

I'll need an exact hour for a fully demoralizing assessment, though..."giggles"

              Thanks everyone for your comments.

To be completely honest, the pisces in question, actually is a guy. :S
We met at Uni about 3 yrs ago and I stayed in Uk and he moved back to Ireland. Since then we've seen each other four or five times a year for a weeked here or there (we went to paris for a weekend in June, which was nice). But I'm thinking, I don't want my life to be like this in 3 yrs time more. I fell in love, and just before the new year, I confronted him about it. He cried and was like, i can't believe you;re leaving me.

But I happen to know that he's been with other girls, and none of his friends know he's bisexual. he won't tell them, which means that we'll never have a relationship. Its just really tough.

                Bisexual, ey?

Well, he has a Scorpio Moon, and Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries. Why am I not surprised?

Well, it's probably for the best. If he doesn't want to tell his friends it could mean he's not entirely sure of his feelings for you and wants to keep his options open.

On the other hand, the Pisces Sun says insecurity and, in someone who doesn't care about astrology studies, it usually brings hiper-sensitivity to others' opinions and criticisms.
Along with that Venus-Mars conjunction in Aries it could mean he's enjoying his "sexy, macho" image, and wouldn't want his friends to change their opinion about him.
And unfortunately, sometimes insecurity overcomes all other feelings...

Seems like a challenge to me at first glance, most of which is already brought up here.

To see further into the nature of this, I looked at my mom and stepfather. He is the Gemini, she the Pisces. It lasted 30 years and was only good for less than 5 years but neither would leave - it took so much for my mom to break it off, and now my stepdad is a much better person. I have seen other male Geminis and female Pisces in the same predicaments by the way.

I have also noticed that it never lasts as long when it is a Male Pisces and a Female Gemini - and many times that combo doesn't even seem to get off the ground. Just my experience with these two signs in general, and of course the charts will reveal more! :-)

I'm a Pisces. My room mate is a Gemini. We have been friends for a couple years and live together well. Two of my best friends in highschool were Geminis also. I think it works because we understand eachothers' mood swings. I haven't had a love relationship with one yet, though.

It is hard to put too much into simply the sun sign.

But one factor to watch for is probably the pisces not taking the gemini energy personally.

Whether that factor actually turns up in the relationship depends on how much it is reinforced or possibly contradicted in the rest of the chart as well as how "evolved" the people are.

The square (90 degrees apart) is reported as a "challenging" aspect. But it is also known to be a very strong source of strength if the energies are aligned right. It just takes vigilance and awareness to keep meeting the challenge and getting results.

    it can work.

my boyfriend is a pisces sun/cancer moon and i'm a gemini sun/aries moon. that's 2 squares for you already. we also have a mars sq mars. but we have nice mercury/moon/venus/mars aspects. Before we decided to get together we had a long talk about where we're both coming from and where we're going. both of us have a strong feeling about the longevity of this relationship.

there are many moments of miscommunication and sometimes i move too fast for him. Sometimes I have no idea what he really means when he says things. but i learn to be patient and free to express my emotions around him. and he learns to communicate his feelings more clearly and become more spontaneous.

i'm lucky that my lil pail of water is an emotionally mature person (then again he just finished his saturn return). instead of playing guessing games, ask questions (gently). be sensitive to the pisces, let them take charge! it's amazing the places they can take you to sometimes..

Jacqueline- Thanks for sharing that- it is a wonderful example that relationships are made up of two PEOPLE and not two Charts.
If relationships didn't have some amount of challenge, effort, and thus reward, then why bother?

When I dated my Gemini boyfriend I was 28 and he was 26ish ....so I'll agree that we weren't the most mature or evolved folks. Now that I'm (almost) 40 (and dating a Taurus, whom I adore) I can look back and see where a little more patience on our parts could have saved us from more than a few heated arguments.

well i am a pisces and my north node is in gemini....ive been trying to find a gemini ...i dated an aquarius , gemini moon, gemini rising and it was amazing at first. but totally off balance. he was obssessed with me and i was sort of hung up on things not being the way i wanted them to be in the relationship...as soon as i realized i was totally into him..he left without a word and sent me a txt message because he was too afraid to talk about his feelings with me.
i think pisces and gemini share a deep soul connection with that mutable energy and all...if the people involved are pretty evolved and aware of what their needs are....i did learn a lot from him...i have some scorpio issues that he helped me realize. you have to be gentle with a pisces though..
i looked the chart up..with moon in leo and saturn in scorpio....you probably need to show some emotion or be willing to talk about emotions..also she has mercury in pisces

oh crap..i put in the wrong year! that changes everything! so her mercury is in aquarius and moon in sag...so you'll probably be a great fit!
saturn in scorpio can also limit emotions as well...but i would guess the return to saturn would be painful there..i have saturn in scorpio but also mars and pluto there as well so i think it changes that. good luck, sounds like an amazing pairing!

Moon/Uranus/Jupiter conjunct in Sagittarius! Mars conjunct Venus in Aries. If that's your cup of tea then it's too good to pass up!

Bisexuals are great - they're not such slaves to the System as the rest of us. Vital and energetic, great lovers of sex. And the need for freedom is paramount in this case. Suggest that he sometimes include you in a theesome. We all have (or are at risk of having) the sort of feelings that you are having now. Remember your Gemini fluidity and openess - you have something of real value here. Keep your Scorpionic/Plutonic stuff at bay for a while and see if this perhaps isn't a path with a heart.
        Good Luck!

I think it can. All depending on the moon sign compatibility and venus. My parents are living proof! They were engaged after two months of dating, and have been married for 27 years now. My father is Gemini sun, libra moon, taurus venus, and Sag Asc. My mother is a Pisces sun, moon, and Asc with taurus in venus too. It boggles my mind from time to time, but I've never seen any other couple thier age so happy with eachother. They are playful, and laugh all the time. Maybe it's a karmic relationship, who knows.

            thanks everyone for your posts.

Weird, cos just before reading this, the Pisces rang me up to talk, drunk of course.

We just can't get away from each other really. We're just two best friends. Really, I guess we know each other better than anyone else. We definitely share a soul connection, lovers or not.

I think we're just meant to be there for each other, as best friends.

Wow. I just read all these posts after checking my post, Please Help Me, wherein the gentleman in question is a Gemini to my Pisces. I've always felt a kind of connection to the Gemini, we're both dual & mutable. You can gain insights from this, comparing and contrasting the mutability/duality of the air & the water. Geminis tend to improve with age, getting over what can unfortunately comes across as shallowness or selfishness in their youth.
"We just can't get away from each other really. We're just two best friends."
When I was in high school my 2 best friends (actually, my 2 only friends) were Gemini. Get together with 2 teenaged Geminis when you're an adolescent ... GOOD fun. And my first Lover of Any Emotional Significance was a Gemini. The whole relationship was VERY strange but just what I needed at the time. Of course he wanted it to go on & on, but for me it was over. Then we got to be friends. Haven't seen or heard from him for years .... my Husband is a Cancer with a stellium in Gemini ...
Because of the nature of the Pisces/Gemini association, it can either be just so great you want to weep or an endless parade of misunderstandings (petty or more) and defensiveness. More than most sun-sign pairings, the other synastries are very important. So if the Gemini has Cancer/Taurus influences, for instance, and the Pisces has Aquarius/Aries influences, it could all balance out. Be patient, be loving, be conscious of the differences & it can be great. Good Luck.

I've just started dating a Pisces.

    I'm a Gemini.

Its not going to work but I don't think it matters... no relationships "work" nowadays.

She's a lot younger than me and so on. The synergy charts say "negative aspect" all the way down, and the positive ones say "are you fucking sure?" Negative reaction from our friends, too. The mostly fixed firey air established male claims her as his secondary.

    I have to calm Pluto-Moon down a lot--as a metaphor--, already.

Cheers, Paul, Guinesses for all around.

Pisces may when coming to learn a Gemini's true "face" which SOME ppl believe is just a form of the other they thought they saw before (I.E. "two-face" sigh) feel disillusioned and entirely shattered, Gemini is to some degree just as illusive as pisces but we are in more of a psychological level changing from feeling to thought to feeling from one moment to the next. Pisces are enduring and hold on to a dream or fantasy long after even the seed has been planeted, and they can hurt for long after the while and Gemini could so easily just not be aware of this fantasy life the Pisces hold deep inside. Let's see however if you were born the 8th June of 1985.... I'm not looking at your chart now but I'm a June 5th Gem of the same year so I understand you are either an Aqua or Pisces Moon. If you're Pisces Moon honestly the relationship could be highly ideal for both of you.

This is interesting for me - I'm a Pisces with a Gemini sun who is sort of/sort of not involved with another guy who is a Gemini with either a Virgo or Libra sun. He has and continued to express interest in me but always seems to keep this distance which makes whatever it is that we have something static. I'm interested - the attraction is mutual - and he knows it.

I don't crowd him and always make myself available. I don't sulk or overly demands his attention or presence. As a matter of fact, I always emphasize that I know he's busy. I try to be understanding, giving and forgiving but my Gemini doesn't seem to appreciate that.

I just don't know what he wants.

So Paul - let me ask you - as a Pisces, what am I doing wrong ? Give me your Gemini perspective.

Try Astrodienst composite chart if you want that info. It depends on your whole chart- and that information should really be used to show
what areas you may have problems. You choose to work it out. And wouldnt you really like to get to know her before you make those judgements? It depends on so much besides your chart- backround interests, and how you handle possible problems.
    Anything can work.
