I have this coming up soon in the 5th. I have heard a variety of not-so-good descriptions of this transit. Any real-life stories? If you've been through it and wish to share, please do. Did you notice any significant changes in your life?

Your chart usually indicates a snapshot of your personality and the issues, conflicts and challenges that you would have to deal with or play out in this lifetime.

The North and South node of the moon draws the focus on karmic lessons that are to be played out in this lifetime and are always read in a pair, thus we should always take into consideration the axis of the opposing signs and houses. You should always treat the opposing signs and houses as a continuum in itself. For instance the 1st and 7th houses speak of the self and relationships with others respectively. The 6th and the 12th houses speak of the tangible working, living environments and physical health and routine while the 12th house speaks of the intuition, mental health and subconscious. All these, although they may sound like extremes, are linked by a continuum. We are usually treading the bridge between the chasms somewhere in the middle.

South node of the moon indicates what you have been used to, which could be collectively defined by past lives or even the kind of life that you could easily find yourself slip into this lifetime. This is an inherent part of your character and what serves to be familiar to you and therefore is effortless. South nodes could also be indicative of fears and insecurities which may be carried over by past lives. The north node is what you should strive to be working towards in achieving in the current life. In a way learning the lessons of the North Node means breaking out of the familiar and taking risks in order to embrace the unknown. As mentioned the axis of the nodes should be taken into consideration.

Saturn on the south node could make it more difficult for you to realise the issues of your North node. It could hold you back and make you more set in your ways and make you feel very self-righteous in that you already achieved what you are are meant to do in this life. It may make you feel complacent and justified that you have certain fears and insecurities. If in hard aspect with planets such as Mars and Pluto, you may find yourself very stubborn and fixed in your ways and even argumentative in that you are willing to risk all so that things remain the way they are.

You may however use this as an opportunity to understand the limitations that hold you back from achieving your North node lessons. Saturn's energy if correctly channeled could be used to probe deeply and questioning the boundaries; and breaking down what is no longer relevant to you. Saturn's energy takes time to realise and the lessons learnt and the rewards or punishment that you are meted are usually accumulative and over periods of time. Therefore, be sensitive to the little changes in your life as you make decisions with the North Node and South Node in mind.

You hear the horror stories where people with those placements are not listening to the changes that they should be implementing with these transits. Saturn tends to smash things up and smack people upside the head if the smaller warnings are not heeded. So it pays to wisen up and listen.

Thank you so much. That was very informative. I have always known saturn transits as worthwhile and a time of evolution. I will try not to fear this one! I will be watching for rigidity in my thoughts...Thank you for taking the time. :)

The only thing I would add is that you should try to remember to stay in balance.

I have had saturn on my Nnode recently and it brought a lot of attention towards striving towards goals and becoming stronger and whatnot but now I have recently realized how much I had been neglecting the Snode during this time. I can't tell you just how much I really NEEDED to also relax and be myself a little bit.

I guess that ideally you would be able to focus on both nodes together. I'm not sure if even a significant transit is a good reason to let yourself get as out of balance as I had gotten. Although at the time it just seemed completely imperative to focus the way I was on making things happen and keeping on top of things. It was threatening to undo me until I started balancing thigns out better.

Saturn on your North Node makes you feel that you have a duty to fulfill which is defined by the house that the conjunction falls into.

Saturn on my North Node in 8th house and in Virgo is an indication that I should be more diligent with streamlining the practical aspects of my existence (living and working arrangements, health and fitness, checks and balances) and also shaving off all unwanted indulgences that interfere with that purpose.

Mebbe, it sounds like you got the conjunction in the 7th house by your mentions of balance.

It's coming up...the end of this month shows saturn at zero libra, right on my south node. I'm a little apprehensive, not particularly looking forward to this time.

Any one have any other insights, experiences or advice to get me through it?

Anyone care to weigh in here?

I'll try to add an update as this transit moves along. I have one week to go...

Saturn on your South Node means it's opposite your North Node. My immediate impression is that it's going to be a good thing: the conjunction with your South Node will make you realize and release the South Node old news karma; the opposition to your North Node will make you anxious to do more North Node activities. I think you'll have the right opportunities and the right motivations to make the best use of them in terms of your node axis.

At a glance, a south node at the beginning of Libra would mean letting go of judgements and the tendency to sabotage one's self with indecision; a north node at the beginning of Aires would mean "your soul" wants you to be more spontaneous and ambitious without counting the cost so much – take some risks, go get'em, etc. Maybe after all of this is over, you'll be more confident and outgoing? I don't know, the transits I've done for myself that included the nodes never seemed that powerful or accurate in my experience. While you're worried about this node transit with saturn, there may be other transits that hit you harder.

And, it's important to remeber that the nodes themselves are lunar points, so I'd be paying close attention to my natal moon position and what's affecting Lady Luna at the same time as when things are aspecting the nodes.

              Hey Yoda,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, well Lady Luna is getting hit too! I have SN, Uranus, jupiter and moon in a little stelluim in early libra. And lets not forget the up coming square from transiting pluto to my moon, etc.

I like what you said about being more outgoing and confident and ambitious. I just now got a new job that is requiring a lot more from me. South node in libra is rough in the confidence factor. It's very hard to not worry about what others think.

I have a feeling that this "saturn" thing is going to become a theme, whatever it may be. My next solar return shows moon, saturn and vertex in a tight conjunction in the 6th. Saturn and vertex...sounds like encounters of responsibility. I don't know. Am I reaching here?

              Thanks again!

With your moon caught up in the mix, I'd say you are entering a phase of new growth geared towards making you aware of what you can get away with. You'll always have those nagging Libra voices a la your South Node and stellium, but it seems like you're entering a phase where you need to think on your feet and have answers for things that are clear and linear. You may want to try a few things:

                - Your first gut reaction is usually the correct one; go with your gut without the usual inner debates a few times when the stakes are low, (ie, beach or bar?) and see how things go.

                - If you have a decision to make with a lot of moving parts and trade-offs, pick the side you feel inclined towards and play the inner lawyer against itself. Where you once may have said, "Option A is where I'm leaning, but I don't want the consequences X, Y, or Z", try saying something like this instead: "I say we go with Option A. We can deal with consequences X, Y, and Z more easily than we can deal with the consequences from option B." Even if the herd doesn't go with you're opinion, you won't be too hurt because you naturally saw both sides to it and probably had less of an emotional attachment to either outcome, (I say this because Libra folks can usually see the merits for both sides of an argument, and usually just want what works best for everyone). What's important is being confident and assertive; that in and of itself will win you many friends and allies.

                - Surprise some of your more-weathered and time-tested friends by doing things that are out of character for you, but in line with being more assertive. Guage their reactions and your own, and start getting into the skin of the Martian Aires energy. Just don't do anything that may jeopardize the friendships in question; you just want to *surprise* them, lol.

                - Imagine that you are given a management position where you are to hire and fire people for the good of the company. Visualize yourself having to fire one of six people that work under you and who you like equally. How do you do it? What if you have to hire one person out of six equally-qualified candidates, but you have to call the five you don't hire to thanks-but-no-thanks them. Such things may scare the pants of your Libra energy, but your Aires energy is what will see you through such things.

i am a survivor of transit saturn over my south node. what a transit! saturn while it was at 14 degrees virgo conjoined my sun and south node in that degree. karmic? DEF! it was transiting my 5th house. long story short, i was at the top of the world. living life. enjoying. i met a person i fell very deeply for.

the level of the karma was deep. the person had an anaretic venus in cancer conj mine at 29 as well. it also conjoined my moon. and not to mention that his mars was also there along with our venus'. sun conjunctions. pluto and uranus also conjoined that sun of mine. (keep in mind this is along with my south node and transit saturn moving over these planets because we were born 1 day apart.)

anywho, seperation was involved. yes. and it hurt my heart and soul tremendously. uh, almost everything that i was enjoying at the time was taken away almost within a blink of an eye. i kid u not. i ended up moving back home and not only to my old room or anything. thats not how saturn worked on my transit. it was back home to share a room with my taurus of a sister and 5 yr old nephew. and for anyone wondering, she had pluto in the second. so if u can, use that as a certain guide to imagine how up to my neck i was in my things, as well as literally, having her things over my neck as well.

it involved serious health scares. old family issues that seemed to be projected onto newer ones.

this transit involved the sun, which rules my fourth house, which is why im taking the family thing into acct. saturn had family debt to settle. old debt and i guess that was a moment to let things go. uh, i also had to let that person i spoke about go. the lifestyle also went. the just going anywhere to have fun was out. idk...... it was a turning point.
