I'm thinking about this. What is your conclusion about outer planets in the 12th?
Outer planets symbolize society, authority and the larger things in life like generations, cities, the masses etc. and the 12th house is among other things the hidden and subconscious but still not on the personal level since it's above the horizon (houses above the horizon are the "social" houses that involves the relations with others).
Might this relate to some sort of unwilling interaction with authoritty or the larger society powers?
I'm curious about your thoughts on this.

Good question
I don't know.
I thought that I didn't have any outer object in my 12th
but a few years back, I found out about 2005 FY9 which ended up being named Makemake. It's a transneptunian dwarf planet like Eris,Pluto, and Haumea.
It's the 3rd largest dwarf planet after Eris, the largest and Pluto, the second largest. Haumea is the 4th largest.
with it being a transneptunian like Pluto, Makemake in 12th could be similar to Pluto.
I actually have a conjunction of dwarf planets, Ceres and Makemake in my 12th, using whole sign houses. Haumea is in my 12th,using placidus, koch, and equal house system. Haumea is conjunct my Ascendant with 2'12 orb,and so it affects my 1st house any way. In Whole sign house, it's in my 1st house.
Philip Sedgwick said that transneptunians are evolutionary intensified objects
the 12th house is associated with the collective unconscious. so evolutionary intensification in the areas of the collective unconscious, hidden
I think the outer planets and transneptunians can be be related to some sort of unwilling interaction with authority of the larger powers. They are transpersonal objects, and they are no related to mundane life. This is especially so for the transneptunians.
with a metaphysically oriented object in my 12th, I do tend to keep my metaphysical interests hidden from others. I don't like to be open about them in fear of people thinking that I am psychotic.

Re: Outer planets in the 12th house
Mon, October 5, 2009 - 2:15 AMI definitely agree that the outer planets drag in the collective big time; but just as the collective and things of it, such as culture, really affect the individual down to the core, I also totally feel a personalization of them. I think this is readily apparent to me with Leo Sun conjunct Pluto in the 12th.
Yes, it definitely brings in the collective unconscious. Such things as myths, fairy tales, archetypes, and the like are fascinating to me, and I just love to take my 12H Virgo Jupiter and go to it as much as I can in all sorts of ways. One thing that I have enjoyed doing lately is looking at transiting Pluto in Capricorn and noting how that is playing out globally and how what I am doing is mirroring certain aspects of those global effects. I am finding the the more I look at that, the more I see alternatives on both levels ~ personal and transpersonal ~ that are requiring a paradigm shift in creative thinking. I have to say that I am loving that, even though the areas of life in question make risks particularly scary.
To a similar degree, I am also experiencing the same sort of thing in interpreting Saturn, Uranus and Neptune as well. I sort of think that Pluto has primed the ground to do that, at least for me.
LOL ~ As for appearing psychotic, Raymond, I know what you mean. I pretty much stay silent, too, in most venues. Of course, here we are among friends, so appearing psychotic is not a cause for anxiety. LOL!
