Does anyone have a sun/moon opposition?

topic posted Sun, January 27, 2008 - 7:57 PM by  Unsubscribed
hello all :)
I would really like to hear from anyone in regards to their experiences with this aspect.
My moon is in cancer in the 6th, and my sun is in cap in the 12th
horror stories welcome

When pluto moves on to 11 degrees, he will conjunt my sun and activate this vicious aspect

...hopefully i wont be in a loony bin by then ;)

eeek, when pluto conjuncted my sun back in 1994-1995, I had a hard time...hehe. My whole life changed and so did my direction in life. Looking back on it now, I am grateful for it. As long as you are aware that it's just the transit and not you, you will be fine. Just learn what you can and be receptive to what Pluto is teaching you. We all come here to Earth to learn, and this transit is gonna teach you. Blessings...

BTW...my sun and moon don't oppose, they square. It was during this transit that I really saw that life as I knew it, ie: going to college, getting a job afterwards and living the typical American life was not all there was to life. I was opened up to deep spiritual truths that only left me thirsting for more. I became aware of the energy of my sun moon square: that I had absolutely no idea how to harmonize the masculine and feminine energies in my psyche, and that I needed to dive deep into my own subconcious to find out why I couldn't find balance. I though that it would be an easy 1-2 year commitment to finding this. 13 years later, I am still diving deep into the ocean of the unknown, but the journey here has been the treasure, not just the end result

      thnxx! :)
actually, just started my pluto conjunct merc this month(in the 11th) and it hasnt been very comforting when doing research, i read things like...
"If you feel like you might lose your mind during this 2 year transit, take heart...blah blah blah"
      *sigh*
oh well, theres always a brighter side right? like the fact that my pluto square saturn is just recently OVER

sun in 9th conj MC, moon in 3rd.
oh, my bad, they aren't really aspected with each other, just in opposite signs.
        but i do have a moon/mars opposition.
so, yeah t. pluto opp mars is expected...

        now, don't feel doomed...
just pay attention to the signs and look within.
        just be open for change.
that's all that pluto asks for...
        i think.

......more like, "when pluto tears you like a carrot up from your garden, chops you up into tiny pieces and throws you in a pot of stew because thats what your real purpose in life is and it will help you in the long run get to knwo your real self better.." (its for your own good?!?)lol
...wouldnt that be awesome if pluto DID ask before a horrid transit..
"look man..i was hoping you wouldnt mind too much if i just have a little visit with your natl merc for a little while.........hows about it...buy you a beer?"

ive heard squares are a harder energy to deal with than oppositions..is that right?
      • Re: Does anyone have a sun/moon opposition?

Sun and moon integration - one of the things I'm most interested in. I don't have a sun/moon opposition but I have a few friends who do. I have a sun sextile moon.

The bulk of them being libra sun and aries moon, pisces sun and virgo moon. Oppositions aren't any harder to deal with compared to squares. i have witness alot of swaying from one extreme to the other (the libra/aries passion and foolhardiness) or the way too mutable (pisces/virgo that it's almost manic). However, I do have abit of oppositions in my natal chart so i do understand where they're coming from.

What is more important to you? the fact that pluto is gonna sit on your sun or that you feel you haven't quite found the balance or integration between the sun and moon?

the integration i feel like i understand and 'know' now; used to it, etc..... what i am worried about is what kind of 'hyde' pluto is going to turn it into, you know? i am also worried of possible health problems...
maybe i shouldve included that in my title..because i guess it is just the combo of energies from that transit siting on the 6th and 12th that really worries me
trying not to panic...but i have recently witnessed the power of a transit to completely change 'every'thing i thought was stable in my mind/emotions (neptune)
in one way, its kind of nice to know ahead of time whats coming..but on the other, its hard not to be scared

a transit doesn't necessarily adds power to overturn anything in one's life. If there are issues to be worried about or fear, chances are that deep down you already know it exists.

i do think what transits do are to indicate the time and sort of changes that you have to deal with now. "there is a time for everything" is a statement that makes alot of sense to me. i like looking at transits and see what kind of issue i have to deal with but i think to worry or fear it is like wearing a life jacket and 2 seat belts while going out for a drive. what if you end up manifesting things that weren't there in the first place? that happens to us all too easily sometimes..

i had to deal with a pluto opposite sun transit for a long time and pluto has finally moved enough distance from the opposition orb (whew!). But midway through the transit, i realised the stuff i had to learn or rather, the truths i'd been forced to face. after that, realisations came a little easier and the transit became easier to handle.

True, squares tend to bring about tension, sometimes, with a side- stepping uneasiness, and sometimes with potential to flare head on. Both ways don't help solve the problem, the energy would be there and nagging at you to address them in some way.

Oppositions are two issues pushed to different ends of the stick and woe betide if the thin curtain between them is drawn back. There is surely bound to be lots of head- to- head flare- ups. And unless they are reconciled in some way, the conflicting energies will remain obvious.

I really dont think that you should be worrying as much about Sun moon oppositions in the sense that the moon moves very very quickly through the zodiac so there is a higher likelihood that there are more people with unpleasant moon- sun aspects in comparison to people with unpleasant aspects with outer planets say Pluto for a start. My own moon in Capricorn squares my sun.

I think your fears are more centred around the Pluto transit (but hell everyone's unsettled too). I am guessing that the transit might shake up your sense of self, and in that you would try to literally have a grip of yourself; grounding yourself in your ambition and your sight on the world and worldly matters (career, structure, etc), but don't neglect your need to be nurtured (Cancer); pay attention to your feelings. Before you can be nurtured by other people or the universe, always nurture yourself first. You need to be open to nurturing in order for you to receive it. And being nurtured and/or needing to be nurtured does not necessarily mean that you can't take care of yourself. It's part of being human. As babies we all need to suckle onto a mother's breast before we could eat solid food.

Oppositions often address issues that people often regard to be on opposite ends of the stick when truly, it is an intimate flow; a symbiosis if you like. Cancer rules the mother figure, capricorn rules the father figure. They don't need necessarily need to be polar opposites in order to make sense in anyone's life. I've experienced my fair share of nurturing, intuitive fathers and structured, no- nonsense mothers.

Hey I have sun moon opposition. Life cetainly has not been easy for me. The good news is that in time I ve grown and learnd alot and dealing with it is easier. I have a theory that your first half of life you are your sun chart and as you get into your secound half of life you begin to experience your natal and become your riseing sign.
Depending on your pluto asspect that will determine what happens when pluto gets into cap?? It might be poitive:)

what houses is your opposition in? what do you mean when you say "depending on your pluto aspect..."? Sun is sitting 11 degrees cap, moon is 15 degrees cancer, and pluto 21 degrees libra...(I started this thread under my old account, my chart is in my pics too)
Things in my life definately started changing as pluto entered cap...I am really getting aquainted with pluto lately.
Had pluto square saturn, now pluto conjunct merc...in some years the sun conjunction and moon opposition
In a strange way, i am finding i do like it, the transformation. Its like jumping in the deep end and trusting you will learn to swim. Natal pluto is in the 8th, so that might show some of that draw in me
It hurts, but feels good on the spiritual deep level at the same time

Pisces sun, taurus moon (and cancer rising) here - somewhat opposing, I guess. I'm not sure how this affects me, but it may be why I seem such a stick in the mud sometimes for a Pisces. ;)

Guy I'm going after now is a Capricorn/Sagittarius cusp with moon in Virgo and Aries rising. That's gotta be difficult. ;-P
