Lilith in a Males Chart

topic posted Tue, March 27, 2007 - 6:19 PM by
I was wondering what everyones ideas on how Lilith would work in a males chart, if powerfully placed. I got this Lilith that got all these exact aspects, forms chart patterns.... When I read about the effects about it in a males chart.... there seems to be this connection to some fear or impression of other woman in their lifes. To me Lilith doesn't relate to the idea of conflict between the sexes...some of the interps I read for Lilith are so emotionally bias...and just flat-out sexist...BOTH WAYS!!! So I see this common theme of bringing power and control to a woman, but fear and pain to a male...oxymoron in the making. My friend calls me Liliths child by how my Lilith is aspected. So I decided to ask this wonderful group an opition on how to direct my Liliths energy, or to recogize it.

In my eyes Lilith is the energy that discribes the void between yourself and the creator, whoever that may be...

These are the two Mean and True node (Mean is the one on astro.com)...

Mean - At 2 Degrees Taurus in the 8th house
- Opposed Pluto at 2 Scorpio 2nd house
- Trine Moon at 5 Virgo 12th house, Neptune at 2 Capricorn 4th house
- Sextile Sun at 2 Cancer 10th house

True - At 16 Degrees Taurus exactly conjuct 9th house Cusp
- Conjuct North Node, Pallas Athena at 17 Taurus, and Venus at 16 Taurus
- Opposed to Saturn and POF at 22 Scorpio 3rd house
- Squared to Jupiter at 16 Aquarus 5th house
- Trine Asc at Virgo 20 degrees and sextile to Virgos ruler Mercury in Cancer at 19 degrees 10th house

The Venus in Taurus in its brillance, lucifer-morning star phase, being 45 degrees behind the sun. The max distance sorta speak...so the true would make all Minor aspects... to the Sun and Neptune that Venus does.

Any sugestions would be GREAT!!

Thank you :),

    so, in general, for BOTH men & women, Lilith brings power (control, not so much!), fear, mystery & pain ~ all tangled up together..... anyone who separates her effects for different genders is treading dangerously on the thin-ice of stereotyping & projection IMHO...... but of course it has been done:

    In a woman's horoscope, Lilith represents which part of life the woman plays a strong role in. Lilith is very evident and dominant in charts of powerful, creative women; Those who are quite successful yet vulnerable and sensitive. Many have unconventional relationships.

    In a man's chart, Lilith reveals the type of woman he fears and the type that can drive him over the edge, often to despair. Men...have you ever met a woman that drove you over the edge? She was your Lilith and I bet she shows up in your chart! The ideal position for Lilith in a male chart has an effect that would attract strong and beautiful to him.

    Remember, for women Lilith represents the power she has in her chart. For men, Lilith may also represent hidden powers struggles and unresolved issues with the women in his life.

    For both sexes Lilith shows us what we are most secretive about. Look for Lilith in your chart to see what defense mechanisms you use to hide any emotional wounding. Lilith in everyone's chart represents sexual passion!

    (from this article it is not so clear which Lilith the author is referencing)
    ~~~~~~~~~
    In the female chart, the embodiment of the ideal Lilith seems to be the woman, who is strong and consciously using her instincts, who is in monthly contact with her own blood, who takes control of her sexual power, who knows the rhythms of her body and controls contraception and pregnancy, whether she wants children or not, and if so, has no fear to give birth and experience this tour de force as a source of female strength. In the sexual act, she is sometimes above the male and sometimes below, just goes with the flow in the free interplay of forces between her and her partner. It's pretty obvious that a woman like that experiences conflicts when she gets into company with traditional-minded women and insecure men. She has to find her own way to live her forces in relationships and society.
    The ideal Lilith has her effect on the male chart by making him attracted and attractive to strong women. A fair contact with proud and impressive women is no problem for him. A sign for a positive development of Lilith in the male horoscope seems to be, that more and more men get involved in the adventure of being there at child-birth, to consciously accompany their partner, to stand at her side throughout this deeply touching experience and to remain strong in the face of this female initiation. A typical remark of somebody with underdeveloped Lilith-forces concerning birth would be: "No I can't look at it - I wouldn't be able to feel sexual desire for my partner any more!"
    No Illusions
    But even with this more positive picture we should not have any illusions about the fact, that experiences with transiting as well as natal Lilith are often connected to feelings of pain and agony. That brings us back to the myth: Lilith cannot forget, that she was punished and tortured just because she wanted to act freely and according to her own will. That shows why Lilith often brings us into contact with uncontrollable emotions, desire for revenge and frightening sides of sexuality: That is whenever we got to the point where we had to give in, because as children we were in an inferior position or as adults we may have suppressed our true being because of social pressure, cowardice or indolence.
    Astrologically or mythologically, Lilith personalities, people affected by Lilith, have access to their intuition. Lilith personalities are equipped with excellent manipulation and seduction abilities, and if they are smart, they won't use this talent to damage others, but to improve the living conditions of everyone involved. Often these people have diplomatic abilities, psychological understanding and the ability to empathise with other people. Lilith personalities have a sense for the correct word at the right time and know instinctively, what is appropriate in certain communications with certain individuals or a groups and what is not. Mostly they are charismatic people, sending out harmony and balance.
    Like Hekate, the Black Moon is a "Queen of the Night", and negatively it is demonic (black magic) and vampiresque, while positively it is related to sexual initiation and transformational magic, a symbolic and oniric/artistic/imaginative world of primal wisdom that resists rationalization.
    Often, regarding Lilith, the traditional negative or "demonic" associations are rejected as being the result of the judeo-christian "male superiority" and "ego" ideologies. But this doesn't change to me the fact that there are still many demons inside of both men and women, and that the world of the night with all its mystery and magic still exists, although in areas and in ways different from those of the past.
    ~~~~~~~~

    Black Moon Lilith is believed to be a point of instinctive and emotional intelligence, whereby individuals can gain contact with and feel their inner heartfelt truths and soul longings and passions. Since at Lilith the Moon is more distant from the Earth than usual, the Sun gains relative prominence, and Lilith is also associated with the unveiling of illusions, the illumination of self-defeating behaviour patterns, the exorcism of self-centred desires, and the coming into closer contact with Earth wisdom. A strongly placed Lilith favours art, creativity, detachment from social norms, emotional sensitivity and vulnerability, an uncompromising will, and unconventional relationships.
    ~~~~~~~~
    Powerlessness and abuse suffered in early life can create very strong reaction formations that make people "hate" their own vulnerability and feelings, and this can manifest outward as feelings against those that show these traits. All this can be very complicated, "twisted", and dark. Sexuality is often the playground of unconscious reactions of this type, and the more negative or demonic traits of the Lilith legend can be (and are often in the literature) explained this way.
    ~~~~~~~~

    There was one “person” believed to have escaped the taint of original sin, and by avoiding that particular sin was somehow freed from the curse of death as well. Ironically, this creature went on to become the model of amorality in general, and vicious femininity in particular. Her wicked ways (read: free will) led to her immortality and her eventual association with all things carnally evil. Despite that the Zohar succinctly refers to her as “the ruin of the world,” she is uncorrupted by sin… or at least human sins involving trees, gardens, snakes, and death.

      So I am supposed to fear Scorpio women? That's odd, I don't feel any fear, but I do feel a lot of attraction, and quite a bit of camaraderie with them. Would you be willing to take a look at my placement too? It's here:

        Mike ~

        your Black Moon Lilith in Scorpio, 9th house.....
        tells me that you are attracted to relationships with extreme power dynamics and/or may be unaware of your own use of power plays with partners. Early experience of death & frequent setbacks/accidents taught you the abilities to heal & regenerate, along with a possible precognitive sense in avoiding danger, but you don't always choose to heed these warnings.

        You are often misunderstood & even taken advantage of, but that doesn't deter you you from travel/move to far away places, an optimistic interest in all things educational/philosophical & the need for much independence in your life.

        how does that sound for you?

        love all-ways,

          ps for Mike ~

          this was quoted earlier in the thread but describes Lilith in the 9th house too ~

          Lilith in the 9th house finds response in society. Here her instinctive self-assertiveness is motivated religiously, philosophically or politically. We find here the demand of the 9th house, that society should take over one's own behavior as a main thread or perspective. Basically, Lilith is as a very personal, charismatic energy, and if you act it out in the 9th house it may also lead to fanaticism or dogmatism. You turn your own view into the leading ideology and with Lilith you express this with much charisma, even to the degree of being dangerous. So we find Lilith in 9 in the chart of Adolf Hitler. Christian Klar, one of the heads of the former German terrorist group RAF had Lilith in 9. Interesting is also, that iron Lady Margaret Thatcher had Lilith in the house of politics. Prince Charles, whose political and philosophical abitions do not amuse the queen, has his Lilith in 9. And a great artist with Lilith in 9 confronted us in his powerful paintings with strange new perspectives: Salvador Dali.

      Mem,

      I found this article not to long ago on the web thats pretty intresting... (in that first artilce that fear of woman that drives you over the edge... I don't understand, I am crused with thinking outloud, and would put that woman in her place ..... as if it were any man who were that way too!!) I'll amit though, it is usally the opposite way. I am a traditionalist at heart, no doubts, and some of the most wildest personalities are attracted to me, but I got some sort of mellowing effect, as they can never find a reason to be pissed at me :P !!! (Well not for long) Right now I am living with a sweetheart who has Lilith conjuct her 7th house cusp Aquarius, opposed to Pluto in Leo.

      Thank you very much Mem for that infomation. Everytime I try to study anything on Lilith, it is always in Dutch or in French. I have been casting astrology charts since I was 8 years old, and I do make some money on the side off of it, but mostly all my clients are Europeans. It was some of my astro buddies over there that stressed my lilith, but kept on telling me to read books not in English... CONSPERICY!!! I CRY CONSPERICY!!! lol

      Laugher is the way I connect my Soul with my Spirit, when you have nothing else to loose, all you got left is laugher :).

      -NOW THIS IS ALL AN ARTICLE -
      (beginning isn't pasted)
      www.antonialangsdorf.de/dateie...say.php

      The astrological and psychological interpretation is mainly based on the story of Lilith as Adams first wife who preferred a wild and free existence in the land of the demons to the illusory idyll of paradise. Important for the interpretation is the moment of pain and revenge: Lilith had been punished just because she acted in a free and self-determined way. In her pain and anger, she takes revenge on Adam, symbolizing all the men. She also took revenge on Eve, symbolizing all the nice, servile women who betray their ideals of freedom and equality by adapting themselves to the male demands. In a way, Eve was smarter than Lilith in all her radical honesty: Eve acted nice and servile, but later she seduced Adam to try the apple from the forbidden tree - and than shared a life outside of paradise with him. Thus, Lilith also stands for a form of independence, that may cause some loneliness or force the chart-owner to get in with the wrong crowd, symbolized by the demons. In the traditional astrological literature about the black moon, Lilith is mostly described as representing the dark part of the female being. She appears as a demonic, dark goddess, as a destrucitve, psychic trouble-maker, the ultimate femme fatale, the mean seducer, she is a rogue, she wants revenge, she kills the newborn - really a very diabolic image. A good example for a typical Lilith figure is the biblical tale of Salome, the daughter of Herod. With her power of seduction and intrigue she caused the horrible dead of John the Baptist by decapitation.

      1.3.The view has changed
      Meanwhile, this one-sided view of Lilith has changed. Women's Liberation and the evolution of society in general, but also the rediscovery of the power of nature and the new belief in witchcraft and old rituals - all that opens up new ways for us to get Lilith out of her life in the shadow and integrate her into ours. For me the new picture of Lilith shows best in the process of birth, which is the most original female action altogether. It's a very painful process with very earthy feelings but at the same time something highly spiritual, an incredible break-through. A natural birth shows many clichés of darkness: It's full of blood, painful, slimy, frightening, archaic and - out of control! You have to use very rough chemical or physical methods to intervene in the process of birth. The delivery releases enormous power which the woman has to surrender to. We should not forget that not long ago every birth was a matter of life and death and that the woman at childbirth had a high risk to die or to lose her child. In addition, mother and child have to take the first, far-reaching step to separation, until birth, they shared one body. For the newborn, it's the first step into future independence. When the woman holds the child in her arms, we have the picture of the exhausted, yet happy euphoric mother in great relief. A transformation happened: From the animal like, earthy woman who drives out the child into the bad world into the lovely mother Mary.

      If you take the rhythm of the Lilith-cycle you find that it takes approx. 9 years (8 Years and 311 days to be exact) to cross all signs and in each sign, Lilith stays for exactly 9 months. This indicates Lilith's strong relation to the female pregnancy period of time. There also seems to be a relationship with the nodal axis: One Lilith cycle is approximately half a nodal cycle. And whereas the nodal axis results from the lunar orbit crossing the ecliptic, Lilith results from the lunar orbit revolving the earth.

      1.4. The female power
      I believe that Lilith represents one part of the female trinity: The original, earthy and unspoiled part, the female power as such. Besides Eve, the symbol of the wife, the companion of the man and Mary, the idealized mother, Lilith reflects just that, which man cannot tame and which he - especially the male - therefore with all his might tried to suppress and to demonize. The separation of women into the holy and the whore is still common - and of course, Lilith plays the part of the whore here - the part which men and society desire and need but at the same time fear and repress. I think Lilith also represents the witches and the magic women, the midwifes and the wise women of the Middle Ages, who had been ostracized or killed because of their knowledge of contraception, birth and health care. Lilith as a witch was burnt at the stake, Lilith becomes ritually circumcised and deprived of her clitoris, Lilith has been covered up in the burka among the Taliban. The modern, western world uses medicine, personal hygiene and science as an excuse for the attempt to tame Lilith and to put her out of action: Women are systematically treated in a way to get them out of the habit of listening to their body and using their natural instincts. A good example are frightening methods of pre-natal care that make the pregnant women wax in the hands of the doctors instead of enabling them to discover the strength of their bodies. I do not deny that cesarean section saved countless lives of childbearing women - but the decision for this method is often made in a haste or it turns out to be redundant altogether. There are many more unnecessary manipulations of the birth process that deprive the woman from the chance to experience birth as a source of strength. And last but not least the pill! Three decades of experience with the pill have shown, that this male invention brought sexual freedom at the woman's expense: The pill works in a way that separates the woman from her natural body feelings and throws her off her hormonal and emotional balance. Women who take the pill pay for their sexual freedom with extremely heavy physical and mental side-effects. A very important threshold in the life of a woman is when she gets her first period. In modern society, there exists no appropriate ritual to help the girl in this phase, it has become purely a medical and hygienic problem. Each mother stands on her own how to handle it and the chance for a great initiation is gone. Besides, it's popular to ridicule the goddess: The blue testing fluid in the advertising for tampons and panty liners, feminine spray and other hygienic excesses are likely to offend the goddess and minimize her power.

      A more optimistic picture
      I will now try to paint a more positive, modern picture of Lilith. In my view, she represents a combination of the magic power of the dark goddess, the female instinct and the endeavor to be equal to the male. In the female chart, the embodiment of the ideal Lilith seems to be the woman, who is strong and consciously using her instincts, who is in monthly contact with her own blood, who takes control of her sexual power, who knows the rhythms of her body and controls contraception and pregnancy, whether she wants children or not, and if so, has no fear to give birth and experience this tour de force as a source of female strength. In the sexual act, she is sometimes above the male and sometimes below, just goes with the flow in the free interplay of forces between her and her partner. It's pretty obvious that a woman like that experiences conflicts when she gets into company with traditional-minded women and insecure men. She has to find her own way to live her forces in relationships and society.

      The ideal Lilith has her effect on the male chart by making him attracted and attractive to strong women. A fair contact with proud and impressive women is no problem for him. A sign for a positive development of Lilith in the male horoscope seems to be, that more and more men get involved in the adventure of being there at child-birth, to consciously accompany their partner, to stand at her side throughout this deeply touching experience and to remain strong in the face of this female initiation. A typical remark of somebody with underdeveloped Lilith-forces concerning birth would be: "No I can't look at it - I wouldn't be able to feel sexual desire for my partner any more!"

      No Illusions
      But even with this more positive picture we should not have any illusions about the fact, that experiences with transiting as well as natal Lilith are often connected to feelings of pain and agony. That brings us back to the myth: Lilith cannot forget, that she was punished and tortured just because she wanted to act freely and according to her own will. That shows why Lilith often brings us into contact with uncontrollable emotions, desire for revenge and frightening sides of sexuality: That is whenever we got to the point where we had to give in, because as children we were in an inferior position or as adults we may have suppressed our true being because of social pressure, cowardice or indolence. However: Transiting Lilith confronts us with the pain that appears because we realize that we didn't live out our true nature - because we didn't want or were not allowed to be who we really are. This also seems to have a connection to the issue of homosexuality - especially when it's hidden or suppressed. In this case Lilith forces the chart-owner to stand by himself and be honest about his sexual preferences. My colleague Lianella Livaldi-Laun who has been working with Lilith for more then 10 years and has published two books about the black moon, mentions several cases in which Lilith in the male horoscope may indicate a hidden or obvious homosexuality and the fight to for acceptance.

      1.5. Natal Lilith
      Concerning natal Lilith, I have noticed, that she is very strong in artists horoscopes. In general, we find her dominant in the charts of powerful, creative, personalities who live a life apart from social norms and conventions, quite successfully but yet vulnerable or sensitive in their feelings. They tend to have unconventional relationships ore end up living as a maverick because they are not willing to make any compromise. In the chart of women who have Lilith in hard aspects to the moon or in the 5th house she may also indicate general problems with pregnancy and childbirth - either the chart-owner suffers from miscarriage or she does not want to be pregnant or is afraid of motherhood.

      1.6. Transiting Lilith
      Transiting Lilith often brings experiences of pain or loss. I observed that she plays her part in miscarriage, abortion, childlessness as well as acts of violence or fateful death. I also assume that she may be involved with rape. But in contact with Lilith we can also have the most incredible experiences of initiation and as we know from the esoteric teaching, initiation is rarely a funny and relaxed event!

      1.7. Lilith in relationships
      Lilith is no joke in relationships! Most people are not conscious about the forces of the goddess, much less, having integrated them. Thus, a date under the influence of Lilith may grow into a dangerous liaison, into painful, intense, obsessive or strange love affairs. Often it's a matter of male or female self-esteem, of power and powerlessness and of radical break-through. Lilith often uncovers hidden structures of suppression and confronts the partners with their true desires which they haven't lived out. If you look at Lilith under the aspect of being radically honest about your sexuality and your true feelings, its obviously not easy to get along in peace and harmony in a relationship when she is dominant.

      2. Lilith in the houses

      /…/

      2.5. Lilith in the 9th house

      The most impressive Lilith case I have in my collection also shows Lilith in the 9th house. The name of the chart-owner is Marianne Bachmeier. In her life the goddess showed in a highly emotional, archaic and tragic way. The story is terrible, yet poetic. Marianne Bachmeier became famous because she shot the murderer of her daughter in the courtroom. Two films had been made of her story. She became the secret idol for victimized mothers and children, an avenging angel, a heroine. Violence was a central thread in her life, starting in her childhood. As a girl, she was raped and became pregnant. They put her into a children's home and she had to give the child away for adoption. In this facility, she was raped a second time with ensuing pregnancy and again had to give away the child. In the age of 23 she gave birth to her daughter Anna. Then the ultimate horror: At the age of 7, Anna was killed in a sex crime. The perpetrator had been caught and one year later the incredible happened: During the trial, Marianne Bachmeier calmly stood up, pulled out a pistol she had smuggled and fired eight shots at the offender. Six bullets hit his back. Afterwards, she said into the silence: " I wanted to make sure I kill him. Actually I wanted to shoot him in the face" and let security arrest her without any resistance. With this act she became a public heroine. The sentence was mild: 6 Years for manslaughter and they let her go after three years. At the age of 43 she got cancer. She was working at terminal care at that time. She died at the age of 46. She had asked a friend of hers who was a journalist to accompany her dying with the camera.

      In the Chart we find Lilith here at the cusp of the 9th house in conjunction with mercury, squaring Pluto and in Trine with the moon. Mars at the ascendant tells us something about the potential for violence in this life, here he stands for the unconditional acting on emotional impulses. If we are generous with the orbs we also identify a grand trine between Mars/IC, Lilith/Mercury and the moon. Among other things, the 9th house is also relevant for justice. And it points to the outside, into society. For Marianne Bachmeier, her desire for revenge was more than a personal feeling. She didn't shoot the murderer in the heat of the moment. In conjunction with Mercury, Lilith acted well-planned here. And Bachmeier wanted to tell and show the world what she was doing. Indeed this act had something grand, philosophical, Jupiter-like, because Marianne took revenge symbolically for all mothers who ever experienced the terrible loss of a child by crime. She acted in a way others may have dreamt of but wouldn't dare to. Of course its strictly forbidden to take the law in ones own hands. But her act was very popular and she had - appropriate to the 9th house - made her self an executor for a real public demand in the face of the most dreadful of crimes - sex crime against children. Becoming a hero by an act of violence - this is in the chart also expressed within the square between Lilith in 9 and Pluto in 11.

      Let's also take a look at the charts of the events in this case. If we take the synastry between Mariannes birth chart and the murder of her daughter, we see transiting Lilith in the 1st house at the south node, forming a square with natal Uranus. At the same time, the Sun activated natal Lilith and her square to natal Pluto.

      The day Marianne took revenge we see destiny at work with the nodes on the MC-Ascendant-axis and in T-Square to Lilith. Interesting as well is the trine to Venus at the cusp of 11: Maybe an indicator for the positive resonance by women? And if you watch the new moon constellation squaring the Ascendant you have a symbol for the great power of renewal that the act probably had for Marianne.

      Compared to Mariannes natal chart, we find that the trine between Lilith and Venus also reaches natal Jupiter: For Marianne, this murder was deeply meaningful. I think that the nodal axis with north node here in 11 also had some impact on the natal Square between Lilith and Pluto. In addition, we have the current Mars at the DC opposing the natal Mars-Ascendant-conjunction and in sextile to the Lilith-Mercury conjunction - that probably increased Mariannes readiness for active violence. The square from Neptune probably symbolized the fantasies that preceded the final act. The stellium of planets in the 6th house may have pointed out that for Marianne this act was essential, a need for survive. The square from transiting Pluto to natal Moon also indicates that here a fate was sealed. And even terminator Saturn was involved: We find him in conjunction with Jupiter at the south node. When 14 years later, Saturn hit the north node, it was exactly when Marianne passed away. That shows once again that you would never watch Lilith isolated. But as in all the cases shown here, she is the clue to a deeper understanding of the story.

        thanks mem and allan for the good info.

        what would you make of
        the synastry or composite dynamics
        when one person's lilith conjunct the other ?

        2nd house taurus 7 02 with 6th house taurus 04 0 1 - almost within 3 degrees . . .

        would this explain some bizarreness in relationship dynamics?

          or how about this one -
          her lilith in pisces in her first house
          conjunct his chiron in pisces in his fourth house . . .

          what would the differnce be b/n lillitth and chiron

      I have lilth in the eighth house in Gemini -I am not sure that fear is a good word for lilth.
      Lilth seems pretty alluring and magnetic rather than fearful, perhaps the undercurrents of its tide and potential for control is what I am aware of and with it I become a little wary and just little curious at the same time

Fear of... hummm..We me mom is a Scorpio Sun, and I supose in a way in youth I was a bit afraid of a side of her. But I'm suposed to be a bit. Bit of fear of moms rath is a great parenting tool. Though I scared the hell out of her way more than the other way around se has explianed to me a few times. I used to enjoy that a bit I think.
        As for Scorpio women, Yes the used to. But I came to understand it was something I was too familar with Scorpio Asc. And yes the scorpio privacy didn't want to see it.. Now I Like it alot. I think it took some living to come around to it from the other end..

        One of the things I found with this is, men have a fem side too, and Lilith may show this power w/ it the fem of a man...

          no, the asteroid Lilith is another thing.....

          separate from the Black Moon Lilith wich is also known as the lunar apogee (what we are discussing),
          the Dark Moon Lilith which (witch) is a hypothetical second moon of Earth,
          & the fixed star Lilith, also known as the eye/hand of Medusa and/or "most evil star"

          love all-ways,

                on astro.com you can add the Black Moon Lilith by selecting "Lilith" in the box where you can add extra things like the Part of Fortune & Juno ~ the symbol shows up as a crescent moon over a cross on the chart.....

                for asteroid Lilith you can add #1181 in the box for more asteroids.....

                Dark Moon Lilith is in the list of hypothetical points/objects as Waldermath moon, or something like that....... & there are a few other Lilith mathematical points there too (worked with slightly different equations, I think)

                  highlight the lilith gets you the cresent moon cross= ?? (thought this was the asteroid)

                  h13-gets you "osc" =?? (I thought this was Black Moon)

                  #1181 gets you "Lilit" (this is the asteroid)??

                  Well ge does it matter that much for me asc Scorpio 16.21 cresent 9.47 Nept12.55 "Lilit" 16.46, and osc rx 29.22..
                  It's all sort of the same theme reading about them though..I thought at the time..

                    yes, it is almost the same thing ~ especially at the start of attempting to detangle Lilith..... I have been confused & the information I'm giving now is still my best guess, according to what I've researched ~ but Lilith still insists on moving all about the chart ~ frustrating me!

                    highlight Lilith in box = Black Moon Lilith (mean value) = crescent moon over cross symbol
                    1181 = asteroid Lilith = "Lilit" on astro.com chart
                    h58 = Waldemath Black Moon = Dark Moon Lilith (I think?) = "Walde" on chart
                    h13 = Black Moon Lilith (true value) = "osc." on chart
                    h21 = Interpolated Lunar Apogee aka Natural Apogee (still attempting to figure out which Lilith this is!) = "intp." on chart

                        How would you think asteroid Lilith works in a male's chart, then? I think I've read that in a woman's chart it's the part of her femininity that she feels is different, strange and fears will be rejected because it doesn't fit social norms. I'm curious about the asteroid in a man's chart, esp. in synastry--mostly because my Sun is closely conjunct both a man's asteroid Lilith and Eros, a man I have a strong attraction with (of course there a lot of other contacts between the charts), and I just don't feel any of the negative connotations that maybe the asteroid could suggest--of course, I don't really know what it does suggest...

                          Hmmm,... so in interpreting Lilith, (the one that you click on in the box at Astro.com! LOL!), do you interpret aspects only by conjunction or do trines, sextiles, squares, etc.,.. count?
                          Just wondering because Lilith is a "hypothetical point."

                          Mine is widely conj the sun, (7 degrees and out of quality because Lilith is in Libra and the sun is in Virgo), trine Saturn nearly exact by 1 degree of orb, and sextile to the north node exact, quincunx Chiron exact, and is placed in the 8th house.

                          Ahhhh!!!

                          I have no idea how to interpret that!

    i have lillith in the second iin taurus - and i think possibly opposing neptune - but the info on lillith seems so conflicting i could never make much of it . seems to me that a long time ago i tried to learn about lillith and learned that there are actually three different versions ?

    long cut and paste below . . ..
    In the beginning was the Great Goddess, and the Goddess was the Earth, and the Earth was the Goddess. "

    The origins of the cult of the Great Goddess lie hidden in the dim twilight of prehistoric time. The Goddess ruled for hundreds of thousands of years. In the course of time, the Mother- Goddess was overthrown and driven under, and the triumph of the most patriarchal of archetypes - Jahweh, God the Father, Allah - was complete in the Judaic, Christian and Moslem worlds. It was only in the tamed form of Mary, Mother of God, that some aspects of the Mother Goddess were permitted to survive. Various Black Madonnas in ancient sanctuaries still bear witness to her.

    The figure of Lilith represents one aspect of the Great Goddess. In ancient Babylon, she was worshiped as Lilitu, Ischtar or Lamaschtu. Jewish mythology already puts her into darker realms - an evil Demon of the night, a fitting mate for Satan, lying in wait for men, and killing children.

    The Astronomical Lilith
    The Moon travels along an elliptical path around the Earth. An ellipse has two focal points, and the other focal point, not occupied by the Earth has been called the Dark Moon, the Black Moon or Lilith. This is a slightly simplified definition, since, actually, the Moon and the Earth both move around their common center of gravity, and the path of the Moon is not a neat ellipse, but a rather wobbly affair. One must distinguish between the mean orbit of the Moon, which is a slowly elongating ellipse, and the actual orbit, which vacillates around the mean path, due to interference of various kinds. Just as there a "mean" and a "true" Lunar Node, so there is a "mean" and a "true" ellipse and a "mean" and a "true" Lilith. I write "true" in inverted commas, because the Moon's Node is only "true" about twice per month, when the Moon is actually on it, for the rest of the time, it is as "untrue" as the mean Node. In fact, when working with a point so close to the Earth, one should also take the great parallax into consideration, i.e. consider, from which point on the Earth one is actually looking at a point in the heavens. Astrology observes the planets geocentrically, as if from the Earth's center, and not topocentrically, from the actual place of the observer.
    The Dark Moon has also been defined as the apogee of the Moon's orbit, or that point in the orbit farthest from the Earth. Both these points, the apogee and the second focal point, lie on the long axis of the orbital ellipse, the line of apsides. Seen from the Earth, they lie in the same direction, and therefore occupy the same place in the zodiac. The second focal point lies at a distance only about 36́000 km from the Earth, the apogee at about 400́000 km. Apart from this, both definitions can be regarded as being equivalent. Because the orbit of the Moon continually shifts forward in space, the Dark Moon moves along the zodiac at about 40° per year. A complete revolution takes 8 years and 10 months.

    Interpreting Lilith
    "During my years of astrological practice, I have come to use the Dark Moon in all my chart analyses, as a complement to interpreting the Moon. It would never occur to me to neglect this influence. The Dark Moon describes our relationship to the absolute, to sacrifice as such, and shows how we let go. In transit, the Dark Moon indicates some form of castration or frustration, frequently in the areas of desire, a powerlessness of the psyche, or a general inhibition. On the other hand, it shows where we question ourselves, our lives, our jobs, and our beliefs. I feel this is important, since it gives us the opportunity to "let go" of something. The Dark Moon shows where we can let the Whole flow into our selves, without putting an "I" in the way, without putting up a wall in the form of ego. At the same time, it doesn't indicate passivity - on the contrary - it symbolizes the firm will to be open and trusting, to let the Greater World flow through one, relying entirely on the great laws of the universe, on that which we name God. To prepare us for this opening, the Dark Moon creates a necessary void."
    (Joëlle de Gravelaine in "Lilith und das Loslassen", Astrologie Heute Nr. 23)

    Q to Astrodienst: Which Lilith do you use in astrology? There are more than one, aren't there?
    The astrological tradition of Lilith/Dark Moon originates primarily in France and has spread over large parts of Europe in the last 25 years from there. At least in Europe, Lilith always refers to the second focal point of the Lunar orbit, or to the Lunar apogee, which both are on the same axis and at the same position of the zodiac, from a geocentric viewpoint.
    The terms 'dark moon' and 'black moon' are both used for the same mathematical point. The asteroid Lilith is a real asteroid (#1181), but there is no relevant astrological tradition associated with it. Currently there are about 36'000 numbered asteroids known with precise orbits, in the average you find 100 of them in every degree of the zodiac.
    There is also a theory about a fictitious second Earth Moon. These are not documented by contemporary astronomers, even when a 100 years ago some astronomers have claimed to have seen such invisible objects.Please see section 2.6 of the Swiss Ephemeris documentation for our policy as ephemeris authority regarding fictitious objects.

    Dark Moon, Black Moon or Lilith, this hypothetical point in astrology is known by several names. Some argue that the Dark Moon is one thing, Black Moon another and Lilith yet another. The reality is that there is an asteroid named Lilith, but it is not the same as the Dark or Black Moon. However, when used as a point in a birthchart, all three names appear valid as they all seem to describe the same thing.

    This point arises due to the Moon's path around the ecliptic forming an axis of the perigee when the moon's orbit is closest to the earth and the apogee when its orbit is furthest from the earth. It is an empty area, a void created, an empty focus. Moving at about 40 degrees a year, the perigee is from where the path of the Dark Moon is calculated. It takes a little under nine years for it to complete its course.

    In astrology, the Dark Moon is representative of the darker side of our nature, the negative side. It is the hidden depths that we know exist yet we prefer not to acknowledge. It is subtle on the surface, yet profound beneath. It is the foundations of our personality and the shocking truth that we often deny and project onto others instead. The refusal to see what is really within ourselves. The subtle refusal to see what part we may have played in some unpleasant drama of our lives, how we ourselves have manifested our fears. It is the kind of thing that we intrinsically know we have to deal with, confront the darker side in order to progress unhindered, yet most often we try to ignore. It is the deeper truth that we are forever in search of within ourselves. Probably the best use we can make of the dark moon is to explore our hidden depths, realize that we all have that darker side and go within to resolve that which ultimately hinders us.

    The Dark Moon is representative of the negative traits of guilt, shame, hatred, envy, and vengefulness, often brought about by personal wounds and hurts. The true dark side of things we try to hide.

    There is another side of the Dark Moon astrologically. Carl G Jung, the famous psychoanalyst described something that he called the "anima". The anima is a man's image of the ideal woman and also the feminine side of his personality. For a woman it is the image of the ideal man and the masculine side of her personality. So the dark moon in a birthchart will represent these ideals too.

    It is also representative of the enchantress or the seducer, one who lures another by use of sexuality or devious means. The kind who tempts another by implying that the grass is greener on the other side, that they can "rescue" someone, but it is in reality for their own selfish gain.

    The Dark Moon, Lilith, also has associations with motherhood, like her counterpart the Moon. With Lilith however, the instinctive nurturing is replaced by a strong protection of her offspring to the point that she would kill if necessary any that threatened them or caused them harm. She is also reactive against the ties involved with motherhood and the emptiness that mothers sometimes feel by isolation and the perceived lack of individuality that accompanies it.

    These things do not only apply to women, they apply to men as well, as the Black Moon is also their feminine side.

    Keywords: danger, darkness, deceit, destruction, devious, devouring, dreams, emptiness, enchantress, envy, fears, guilt, hatred, imagination, isolation, jealousy, magic, marriage-wrecker, mystery, night, poison, secrets, seduction, shame, the "other woman" who thinks a man needs rescuing from the "chains" of his partner, vengefulness

    The manner in which the Dark Moon plays out will be of the character of the sign in which it is posited and with over tones of the ruling planet of that sign. For example, if your Dark Moon is in Aries, it will act in the manner of Aries with over tones of Mars.
    If you don't know where your Dark Moon/Lilith is, there is an online ephemeris where you can input your birth date and time, and it will give you a list of all your planetary placements. It includes both the mean and true Dark Moon as well as many of the asteroids, including Chiron.
    The following is from : www.astrologysoftware.com/resou...le.asp
    There are 3 astrological points with the name Lilith: asteroid Lilith, Black Moon Lilith and Dark Moon Lilith. They are all called Lilith because the way you interpret them in a chart is related to the Lilith story.
    Probably the earliest version of Lilith is from Mesopotamia in the 13 -15th centuries BC where she was the Goddess of Death in the form of an owl. She was called Lilith because it means "screech owl". The version of Lilith we know today is as the first wife of Adam, before Eve, although she is not mentioned in the Bible or in ancient Hebrew religious writings. This version seems to come from a medieval writing that purports to be part of Hebrew writings but is not. The writer probably took the older legend and Christianized it by making it part of a Bible story. Lilith became the woman from hell, the anti-female.

    There are many versions and interpretations of her story. As the first wife of Adam she refused to be subordinate to him. She refused to lie beneath him in sexual relations. She wanted to lie side by side or on top. When he tried to force her she used her powers to fly away. This part of her story has interested many women today . They like to think of Lilith as a feminist heroine, saying she was courageous and asserting her equality. However, in the original story she was more a symbol of the psychologically damaged. If you interpret the Lilith in a chart as heroic or admirable it will not be accurate. The Lilith in your chart operate as places where you are having trouble, where you don't fit in with the norm.

    After Adam refused to have her as his wife, she ran off and mated with many demons, which was strictly against God's will. God sent 3 angels to her to get her to stop but she didn't obey so He started killing her children at the rate of 100 per day. She went mad with grief and started killing other people's children. Painful issues surrounding children, birth, unsuitable sexual partners and parts of your life where you just can't function like others do are Lilith issues.

    Asteroid Lilith
    The glyph for asteroid Lilith is a straight horizontal line with 4 small vertical lines sticking up from it , sort of like an upturned rake head, and on the right below the horizontal line is a very small mark like a capital L or V. Some say it is an upturned hand which could be either rejecting or expecting something different. It takes about 5 years for Lilith to travel through all 12 signs, since it does retrograde a lot. It orbits the Sun in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroid Lilith has to do with all aspects of difficult sexual relationships.

    Black Moon Lilith
    Black Moon Lilith is the astrologer's term for the lunar apogee. Since the Moon has an elliptical (oval) orbit and a wobbly one at that, the distance the Moon is from the Earth varies. The lunar apogee is the mathematical point in the sky where the Moon is farthest from the Earth. The reason this point is called Lilith is because in the Lilith story she was acting out the difficult (distant) part of the Moon, in murderous rage, vindictiveness, and insanity. The glyph for Black Moon Lilith is a black crescent pointing east, similar to a 3rd quarter Moon, but with a cross underneath.
    Black Moon Lilith can be calculated as mean or true, similar to the way the Moon's nodes are calculated as mean or true. But in the case of the Black Moon there can be as much as 30 degrees difference between the mean and true so it is possible for them to be in different signs or houses. Deciding which to use is easier if you look at charts of people you know where the mean and true are in different signs and houses. The true is the more accurate placement but an ephemeris for it has only been available for about 10 years so not as much work has been done using it. The ephemeris for the mean has been available for about 100 years and astrologers in Europe have been using it almost that long. That's why you see the mean used more in articles and books.

    The mean moves about 39 degrees per year or about 3 deg 8 min per month and does not retrograde. The true Black Moon retrogrades a lot and can move anywhere from 9 deg to well over 70 deg per year. It also can move up to 4 deg per day or stay at the same degree for several days so it is important to get an accurate placement for the true. An ephemeris in a book is fine for mean but not for the true. You can get the true in Win*Star software, Hallo ran software, or Riyal freeware or you can use the Swiss Ephemeris online to get both true and mean. Directions for using the Swiss Ephemeris to find Black Moon Lilith are at groups.yahoo.com/group/3Liliths. It takes about 9 years for the mean or true to pass through all 12 signs.

    Dark Moon Lilith
    Unlike Black Moon Lilith, Dark Moon Lilith is a real body in the sky, a second Moon to the Earth that doesn't reflect light, hence the name Dark Moon. The glyph for Dark Moon Lilith is a zero with a forward slash running diagonally through it. There is some controversy over whether it is really there since it can only be seen as a spot moving across the Sun. However, there have been sightings since the 1600's as detailed in Delphi Jay's book, Interpreting Lilith, pg. 1-6. Dr. Georges Waitemata, an astronomer, documented it in 1898 and came up with calculations which gave it an orbit of 119 days around the Earth.
    The astrologer Sepiaria used the Waitemata calculations to come up with an ephemeris but he made errors which caused a difference of anywhere from about 2 to over 40 degrees. Delphi Jay, Ivy Goldstein-Jacobson, Mae Ludlum-Wilson and others copied Sepiaria's calculations. The original Waitemata calculations can be found in Solar Fire software or Riyal freeware. Many astrologers use the Sepiaria calculations with success, but the Waitemata calculations are more accurate. Dark Moon Lilith can be interpreted similarly to the other Lilith. Delphi Jay says Dark Moon Lilith is a place where you must operate impersonally because operating personally there will never be successful.
    Further information on all 3 Lilith can be found at groups.yahoo.com/group/3Liliths/
