this may have been discussed already, but I cannot really find it with a search.
I have a few things going on in my 10th house, both my sun and moon show up there. I have also done charts and reports for others in my family (my daughter and boyfriend) and we all have some crazy aspects going on in the 10th house.
Can anyone share their insight on what the 10th house means? especially the meaning of the MOON in the tenth house?

Wed, November 8, 2006 - 11:36 PMHi--in The Complete Book of Astrology,it says that sun in 10th house shines in public and will do wellin whatever job they choose,also will gain an athoritative position as matter of course. moon in the 10th house means that our attitude toward career goes thru phases--generally feel happier in a 'feminine' career such as nurseing or working in hotels,restaurants or the dairy industry.I have moon and saturn my 10th house.Glad to see your post,farmer -

Thu, November 9, 2006 - 4:13 PMive both the moon and pluto in my 10th, i feel as if it were an obsession to climb the professional ladder and be SOMEONE. im terrified of losing it all to something (though this self destruction thoughts are always, always present) and/or doing nothing that will trascend.

The 10th House reveals the nature of your career and professional life - how you contribute to (and in) the world. The 10th can also signifiy relationships to authority figures.
A person with a 10th house moon feels the pulse of the community or public. They've got an internal zeitgeist register. Depending on other placements, this person could be good at capturing the mood of the time in a number of ways. A few examples might include talk-show host, politician, a fashion designer, advertiser, television programmer... they "get" their audience.
One of my daughters has her moon in the 10th at her MC. She's interested in visual merchandising. In all her projects, she's always got "it"... that ability to capture her market and understand why something would and would not work. She's also good at working with/around women and womens' causes, another moon in the 10th house attribute.

And if that 10th house Pluto gives you any problems, don't let it get you down for too long. Keep reinventing, renewing, and pushing onward. You'll come out better for it. -

yes, ive thought about it too. ive a strong placed venus (in capricorn though, sadly).. the things ive painted, drew, sung, etc etc.. are liked the most by women.

Fri, November 10, 2006 - 1:41 PMTwo of my daughters (from different mothers) have 10th House Suns and both are highly ambitious and goal-oriented. the 21 year old Pisces is a hiphop producer and show promoter; the 13 year old Leo is immersed in competitive interstate gymanstics. since i have not lived with them for over ten years, i cannot claim any daily influence in their lives. however, they know i am a highly ambitious artist and author and there's probably an ambition gene we share somewhere.
it seems to me the 10th house Sun needs to shine where it can be seen, recognized and applauded for its achievements. my own 12th House Sun doesn't dampen my ambitions, public or otherwise, except i am more reclusive and not as prone to appear in person to the public; i don't even appear in my own films. yet. -

Fri, November 10, 2006 - 3:51 PM10th house is interesting to have the sun or moon there- This is difficult to put to words but recognition -for the sun in the tenth house is easy to attain but "NOT" until after the person puts the effort forward it is not easier in any way -essentually you acheive recognition for your efforts and it shines to the world in some way. the moon is similar but there is a fluctuation and sometimes it is behind the scenes as well as the fluctuation of outward recognition it an off and on thing. With both sun and moon there you may do both behind the scenes in fluctuation and be out in front as well.
Sherpa -maybe try it out and appear in one of your movies-pretend you are a 1st or 11th house sun. -

I managed to live as a 1st House Sun for ten years (or pretend) until I discovered the accurate time of my birth. Up until then, I recall how trying it was for me to TRY and be a 1st House Sun personality. Blechhh. I was right after sunrise and so my 12th house Sun is conjunct my ASC by three degrees. That three degrees gives me just enough wisdom to realize how the protection and sustenance of anything sacred requires envelopment in mystery. This is not for anyone else to understand. Natal Vesta also conjuncts the ASC.
I actually would like to star in one of my movies as someone completely different than the way I am, like perhaps an accidental psychopathic who inherits a criminal legacy by chance; now, that might be fun to portray... -

Hi everybody!!!
I have my Sun, my Mercury and Saturn in 10th house.
Ive had some moments of "glory" and my professional life and sudden falls, I dont know if the glory comes from the Sun, and the sudden falls comes from Saturn...
I want to know if my Sun is more powerful than the "malefic" Saturn... im full of energy and never give up!!!!!

I would think you'd prefer the forefront of anything you involved with.
Not just in the professional part of your life but in other aspects also.
In a leader position, or out in the open. if in a play you'd hope for a leading role.
You might not be too comfortable with a back stage job. or you'd want it to be noticed and an important job. Like stage manager.
Depending on the positions of Mars, Pluto maybe Saturn you may, or may not be very competitive with this, out in the open theme.
But a certain recognition for you your efforts is most likely very important.
Sign would tell allot for the feel of it too. And the MC sign. -

Natal Uranus pluto and mars in 10th. well mars on just before 11th cusp so I like the blend for that.

Sun, May 3, 2009 - 10:30 PMSort of funny ~ 10H Cancer Venus, but I used to act. 12H Leo Sun conj Pluto ~ won prizes for supporting roles. Rarely ever took a lead. Wasn't bad when I did, but I stood out more in the lesser parts. Go figure. -

Wherever the Moon is in the house, there is change. So with your Moon (change) focused in the duty (also career, 10th) house, either your career changes or your feeling about your career changes.
