We have currently been in the middle of a Saturn-Uranus opposition, and I'm curious as to where it falls in the charts of people on this list, and what you see that meaning. The opposition has been and will be exact on the following dates:
Saturn in 18 Virgo opposing Uranus retrograde in 18 Pisces on November 4, 2008, election day in the United States.
Saturn retrograde in 20 Virgo opposing Uranus in 20 Pisces Jan. 30 through Feb. 11, 2009.
Saturn retrograde in 24 Virgo opposing Uranus in 24 Pisces on Sept. 15, 2009.
Saturn retrograde in 28 Virgo opposing Uranus in 28 Pisces on April 26, 2010.
And, finally, on July 26, 2010, Saturn will be at 00 Libra opposing Uranus retrograde in 00 Aries. This opposition is enhanced by a Jupiter/Uranus conjunction on June 8, 2009 at 00 Aries, and a Jupiter/Pluto square at 3 Aries/3 Capricorn on Aug. 8. The dominance of the 00 cardinal axis—the sign of the spring and autumn equinox—is formidable to say the least.
Furthermore, on July 30, 2010, there will be an opposition between the Moon at 00 Aries and Mars at 00 Libra, further accentuating the Saturn/Uranus opposition on the 00 cardinal axis. All of this will follow a lunar eclipse at 4 Cancer/4 Capricorn, with Pluto conjoining the Moon at 4 Capricorn.
However, for this list's purpose, I'd be interested in how it's manifesting in natal charts. This is one of those times when you can't just look at the house Saturn is transiting--you have to combine it with the house that Uranus is transiting, which will be the opposite house of Saturn. All examples welcome.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 12:08 PMI am not completely clear about what information you want. Are you looking for people who have Saturn/Uruanus opposition in the natal chart? -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 2:14 PMIn what natal house in your chart does transiting Saturn in Virgo-Libra fall, and in what natal house (usually the opposite) does transiting Uranus in Pisces-Aries fall? And how would you interpret it according to the experiences currently going on in your life? The idea is that this transit can't be treated in isolation--in other words, if you say, "Transiting Saturn is in my 4th house," you have to blend that with transiting Uranus which most likely will be in your 10th house.
Hope that helps.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 4:40 PMT Saturn falls in 1H - 2H and T Uranus in 7H. (Natally, Saturn is in Scorpio 3H and Uranus in Leo 11H.) T Saturn was conj my natal 1H Mercury off & on, and T Uranus is now and has been conjunct my natal 7H Mars off & on. (Natal Mercury is opp natal Mars, and natal Uranus is opp natal 5H Moon/Chiron conjunction in Aquarius). T Saturn conj natal Mercury has been opposing T Uranus conj natal Mars at various times.
Tensions with a co-worker and financial issues at the organization where I was working in a job i did not like culminated in being fired in early May. I was able to get through most of the summer on savings, and my elderly mother has been financing me since. I have plans to begin a new career that will involve being self-employed, but it requires an investment of capital and time for training at home. My mother has been glad enough to have me available to assist her since, while she is not ill, she requires more flexibility in service than can be accommodated through most other means. Meanwhile, I have felt stymied and stuck in my life.
This month I have seen an unprecedented influx of social activity that has kept me distracted. A few ventures I investigated for some cash flow went nowhere. Just the other day my mother indicated that it would be possible to provide me with the means to get started in my objective of training for the new career I have in mind, probably sometime shortly after the first of the year. In the meantime, it looks as though the social front is going to continue to expand.
At the present time, what seems to be affecting me most is T Mars exactly conj natal 11H Uranus, which is expressing itself as an increase is social conscience and consciousness and rendering me more political than I have ever been before. I am feeling emotionally invested in issues of the collective in a manner that is uncomfortably unfamiliar. While this seems off-point, I can sense that it is tying into my general sense of impotence to change things of value to me while strangely enhancing certain personal relationships, both old and new.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 12:19 PMThis transit was a bad one for me:
Saturn retrograde in 20 Virgo opposing Uranus in 20 Pisces Jan. 30 through Feb. 11, 2009.
Transit in my 3rd (Saturn) to 9th (Uranus), Also aspected other planets, most notably my Mars/Venus in the 10th, Moon in the 5th.
Saturn return at the time, and I gave my notice to quit my job impulsively Jan 22, left on Feb 4, had a going away Feb 5 and declared my feelings to a coworker on Feb 10th when I knew it was too late... he blew up at me on Feb 11th and never spoke to me again. He gave notice on Jan 29th.
Yeah, not a nice transit for me. -

Sun, October 25, 2009 - 2:21 PMTeresa - You may be looking at it on a short-term basis, and it doesn't seem nice now. But something drove you to do it. The way life goes is that drive isn't always clearly understood at the time that it occurs.

Mon, October 26, 2009 - 12:18 PMMichele - you are right, I am sure. And I feel that it was all for the best. It seems that the Uranus opposition does add some impulsive energy to wherever Saturn is transiting, though. It sort of forces you to confront those Saturn demons. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? - to Teresa
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 7:58 AMSaturn rules the tried-and-true, the foundations of your life, the structure of your life. It's as important as your skeletal system. Once that is firmly rooted, you can take on the Uranian roller-coasters and not be upset about it. I think Uranian transits can be more upsetting for people who are too attached to their Saturn, or who are not attached enough!

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 12:49 PMI like your idea of focusing on the opposing houses. It does seem to bring out the issues that are likely to be involved in a long term transit like this.
For me uranus is in H11 and saturn in H5.
I'd say that what I have noticed is surprises and both increased social obligation and restriction. More is expected of me and the boundaries are closer in.
In general, there are plenty of problems to solve (many with a social orientation) but more constraints as well in how they can be approached without bringing on disaster. This just means I have to be even MORE creative and think things through even more carefully. Finding ways to balance overlapping and conflicting responsibilities and committments is an interesting tightrope act.
In the midst of all of this I am finding that my own personal work and interests are put on hold (at least I hope it is 'on hold' and not shut down indefinitely). I do think I am learning a lot, though by accepting work in areas I hadn't thought I'd be going. I've had to let go of a lot of my preconceived creative ideas or problem solving approaches and merge more with current movements and the current and long standing restrictions aren't something that I am finding ways to get around in the way I usually try to (and sometimes succeed).
I really am learning a lot - especially in terms of new ways to approach problems that I hadn't considered before and that weren't even on my radar screen in the past.
Past experience is provign to be extremely useful - but it needs to be applied in totally new ways.
While I feel a bit frustrated that my own original ideas aren't going anywhere, I am having a lot of success through following through on the ideas of others as carefully as possible.
Also - anything that presents itself at first as a new or original idea has been turning up as something 'old news' or 'already done' or 'we don't do that and this is why'.
I guess I shouldn't give up on new original ideas. I think this process will just make my own thinking better so that when I do have a new idea eventually, it will be really good and useful. (I'm hoping).

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 12:57 PMT Saturn, 2nd house is 22 Libra
I find I am becoming acutely aware of the need to "ask payment for services rendered". Natal Saturn is in the 6th, square Moon and Neptune , and I have a tendency to dismiss the value of my efforts in service to others. This is a challenge for me, however the universe is offering opportunities to practice.
T Uranus, 8th house, 22 Pisces
I am re-evaluating my attitudes in regard to my sexuality, Jupiter on the DSC is offering plenty of opportunity to experiment... ; )
Also, I have renegotiated the agreement of a divorce settlement with my ex husband.
My mother has a medical condition that has rendered her incapable of managing her affairs, I am living in her house since she fell ill. She had assigned my brother (Aries) as Power of Attorney, and it has come to light that he is not altogether keen on our mother and the childhood we shared. I have some sense that this issue will probably culminate around that eclipse. My Mercury (in Natal grand trine with Moon and Pluto) at 7 Capricorn. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Sun, October 25, 2009 - 2:27 PMSaturn is on my MC and will be squaring natal Saturn, Uranus is on my IC.
Maybe ask me again later. I feel quite buoyant at the moment, could be Juper on Moon - otherwise, this is the lowest point financially I have experienced for a decade at least. Though things are - slowly - filling up.
A nasty practise some schools now have is to 'audition' you - send you to a student who gets to cherry pick out of several saps who go to give them a test lesson. I agreed to do one this year..but would just loved to have told both school and student to get lost (and hex all concerned with a thousand roaches in their kitchens). The students seemed ok and made dates the following week, but they could be BS-ing me. (one of my other students interviews people at his workplace and told me that in a tie, 'he would go for the one with the biggest.....erm, achievements.'
Dreams are being rekindled, by net-buddies elsewhere telling me to get over to New York and the like and get exhibitons together, so which will be the stronger there, Saturn or Uranus..well, whatever. Maybe last time, I was that much more crap as an artist than now, or maybe things really are becoming a little more democratic with net websites everywhere.

Mon, October 26, 2009 - 4:02 AMSaturn is opposing my natal mercury, thus leaving my mercury to conjunct uranus.....no puns no puns.....no...
Saturn in 10th, uranus in my 4th..I never stay at my home for more then 2 days as it drives me crazy..I have to go out, anywhere, usually i end up staying at a friends house... My mind really is driving me crazy...I find it hard to sleep most nights, my mind a race horse reversing aroudn the track of my life..... I have big decisions revolving around my future, building towards a new life, new career, maybe even new country..All is in the pipelines at the moment, I guess it will all unravel itself when it all finally bursts into flames aspecting my natal sun at 29 deg pisces. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Mon, October 26, 2009 - 5:35 AMSaturn in 7th house. Married, got into an affair, divorced, living with new man, happy, all except for money issues all within a spate of three years. Moon in Capricorn helped me work through the nasty bits. There were a lot of emotional issues I had to contend with.
And that's when Saturn moved into the 8th house which affects partners' money (I've done too many charts and readings that show that I can't avoid the reality that I will be the one bringing in more cash for both me and my new man's livelihoods for a while until the economy swings around) This starts my cycle of debts to taxman, dad for university fees as divorce monies are being sorted out. For a person who's madly independent (Uranus on zenith with Mars in Scorpio), having to bring home the bacon for someone else even if I do love him to death doesn't appeal to me. Not that he's being completely useless, he's helping me with my work for nothing as long as I pay rent and he's doing his fair share of getting in touch with people who used to give him business, but I haven't seen the fruit of his labour as yet, as in it's all futile. He's not a go-getter I still think; he's a back end person best at doing research.
This is also about the same time that Uranus is in the 2nd house, which most of the time, signifies a boom or bust in my personal finances. I have good accounts from bigger companies than I have serviced before, but some of the contracts fizzle out prematurely due to forces that are beyond me. But I also got a couple of windfalls; an arts grant for a book, and another huge account; another milestone so far. Uranus in the 2nd house does keep you on edge.
I think I've learnt my lesson well. Where Saturn and Uranus are sitting opposite each other on the 2nd-8th house axis, never take any opportunity for granted. Do your best to deliver your end of the job, no matter how small the job is, how difficult the people. Saturn having passed through my 7th house taught me a lot about maintaining business relationships with clients, or potential clients, if you end up working with them, it's a bonus. Whatever you do sustain the relationship. With this transit, I have had accounts from people who I have done free things for and expecting nothing in return except to be remembered, where before I used to be not so interested in clients unless they have a job for me.
Neptune sweeping through my first house - I want to run away on a holiday and write my book.
Mars in 6th house and 7th house through the retrograde period - Work like hell
Mars currently conjunct natal Jupiter in 6th house Leo - Strong feelings of entitlement. I deserve that house on the beach you twat. The ex girlfriend wasn't even as hot, or as accomplished or as strong and dependable as I am, and I,I have to work my ass off to support us both now that you've burnt a 50k a year villa on a nobody. Uranus is in his 6th house natally.
Jupiter in 2nd house next March - hopefully some good tidings soon -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Mon, October 26, 2009 - 8:28 PMHey swirly,
My boyfriend has transiting Saturn and Uranus in opposition on the 6th and 12th house axis. Saturn in 12th and Uranus in 6th. Saturn in 12th house can also mean psychosomatic illness; he had a heart attack scare from stress from the 6th house Uranus, which basically disrupts his entire working and living arrangement. He was also quite ill with stress; lost a whole lot of weight because he couldn't work out to alleviate his stress and his doctors were afraid that his heart might run into problems.
He is a foreigner here, so his employment pass ran into problems, and then there were legal issues with his business partnerships crumbling and having to close them properly and paying out the partners. And then the house started falling apart; small 6th house issues. The aircon was breaking down half the time, the ceiling was starting to peel, there were problems with repairs. Also work has gone down the shithole; he lost clients and had to do other odd jobs to earn his keep.
But Jupiter will soon swim into his 6th house by March next year to alleviate matters, hopefully. -

Mon, October 26, 2009 - 9:34 PMHopefully things will ease for your boyfriend, Lady Saber.
When the body and mind are compromised for extended amounts of time, the longer it can take to recover/recoup. The equilibrium of mental/emotional/physical/spiritual sometimes quite a delicate balance to maintain.
It seems to me this year rather quiet healthwise, compared to some prior years that I've experienced thus far.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Mon, October 26, 2009 - 8:36 PMMy opposition is between 2nd house Saturn and 8th house Uranus. The last time the opposition was exact I was laid off. I've also gotten rid of a couple of friends and have found my self-esteem and psychological freedom as a result, as cliche as that sounds. I've also become more serious about expenditures-I don't find a need to spend as much money to look a certain way or to even buy things I desire. I've also stopped using credit, even though paying off my debt is still an issue. However, I've reached a point where how much money I have/don't have doesn't define me as much, and i'm also learning to "make do" with what I have no matter what I want to learn/experience. Overall my self esteem is a lot higher, and I feel a lot freer than ever. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 8:03 AMYou appear to understand the 2nd/8th house axis far better than most. Too often we see it being "money," (2nd) or "other people's money," (8th). In truth, it's the axis of resources, of which money is only one type. Most would say that the opposition would affect your income, and it did with the layoff. (I've been there, so know what you're going through.) You are adjusting your attitude about possessions, how they end up owning you; or the bountiful abundance of spending ends up just messing with your head. I like the principle of feng shui when it comes to understanding the 2nd/8th house axis...clutter clogs up your head, not just your dwelling place.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 9:41 AMWhen I married my ex husband I was big on possessions. I had a lavish wedding and a lavish house and very lavish everything. But since the divorce, I did not put as much importance on money with my current boyfriend as I did my ex husband. I let go of a lot of things. I felt freer when I was handling the divorce monies and because I made the payments reasonable and did not cling on to things such as the lavish matrimonial house which he insisted on having.
But my experience with my current boyfriend is different. Both of us are used to lavish lifestyles but we have a lot less now. We are very happy and I don't feel the urge to keep up with the Joneses like I did with my ex. However I feel the urge to build up on my business and sustain relationships with people in general. With Uranus in the 2nd house you don't know where your opportunities are, so you can't take things for granted.
I used to think that money is just an energy, it comes and goes and I always think, especially as a business person that I have the money flow with me and I have been doing very well in the past years that I think that luck will never run out on me.
However with recent transits, I have become more prudent and practical. I ensure that I pay my bills (I'm notoriously late) and don't take for granted every cheque that comes my way (which I used to).
It's a good place to start from scratch I think 2nd-8th house transits. -
-
Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 9:29 PM"From scratch," indeed! It really is the beginning of not wasting. And I find spending more enjoyable now in that I spend more on things I really value. I don't splurge on anything that I don't deeply feel I need (except for dinner once in a while!). It's all about experiences and what leads me to be better in some way. If something doesn't contribute to the future or interferes with important things like health and artistic pursuits, I put my cash back in my wallet. -
-
Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Wed, October 28, 2009 - 5:39 AMAlso I realised, the expensive dinners and house and furniture and wedding were really a call for help in a way that I was feeling really empty inside to start. I was going all over the place but not connecting to my husband which was the essential part of the relationship.
This transit was also when I got an unexpected grant from writing a book. I know that I have been and will always be a writer and I will publish something, but didn't think that I was going to get 'paid' so soon and not before I finished a manuscript. I mean it's a bloody grant! A lot of published writers and editors however think it's not all that surprising that I don't only deserved a grant but the work is definitely publishable.
I started going for writers meets practically when Saturn crossed my 8th house cusp.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Tue, October 27, 2009 - 9:42 PMExactly-sanity is also a resource! I think the Uranus just snapped me awake to my own uniqueness and right to the emotions I have, which other people weren't going to question any more, and of course that led to a stronger 2nd house foundation. Now it's on to the 3rd with it as I try to communicate all this self I now feel comfortable owning and stubbornly guard with the help of Uranus insights.
I love the way you put it-- a cluttered 2nd house definitely screws up the 8th!! At one point my apartment burned down-it wasn't during the opposition, but last March-I think approaching, or it could be a Pluto opp Sun/Venus thing. But despite being thrown into a sort of chaos, I was relieved to get rid of all that stupid stuff! I even left some things using soot as an excuse. Today I just give things away just to keep a cleaner closet. And also try to throw/give something away whenever I buy something. Saturn can be fun after it's done with all its work. It's like a big check on a to-do list. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Wed, October 28, 2009 - 5:42 AMAnd I have to say that with my Saturn return, I have had a great share of rewards too, especially with my existing, very rewarding relationship with my boyfriend. It was my current boyfriend that inspired me to write again. He was travelling a lot once and we went through enough drama for me to want to write about it. One thing led to another and here I am with a real live muse that I adore and an opportunity in writing. -

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Wed, October 28, 2009 - 7:32 AMNot to complicate the topic, but remember that events in your life have Saturn Returns and Saturn cycles also. If, for example, you are concerned about a job, do a "job chart," for when you started the job. Then watch the chart seven years out, 14 years out., etc. When I was downsized, it was a traumatic event, but nonetheless an event. It was in 2003. In 2010, I will see the first square of transiting Saturn to the downsizing chart's "natal" Saturn. These are the times when we get clues as to whether we're on the right track or not.
Marriage charts work that way, too. The 7-year-itch actually has a basis in astrology. It occurs in a marriage when the marriage chart Saturn gets its first square from transiting Saturn.
Related back to the topic, the Saturn/Uranus opposition is not just transiting your natal chart. It is transiting marriage charts, job charts, etc.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart? to Sonah22
Wed, October 28, 2009 - 1:54 PMI wonder how entertaining that will be for those who need a Saturn shake-up. Uranus and Pluto are the heaviest hitters in that department. I wonder if it might me a total re-think of Saturn on some level. How to ground the chthonic influences or something like that. Sounds like it could be a good 12h House/1st House challenge for people who have those planets in aspect in those areas.

Re: Saturn-Uranus opposition--where is it in your chart?
Wed, October 28, 2009 - 8:13 PMMy Saturn-Uranus opposition started in the 1st/7th house axis. I went through very strong changes where I built a heavily saturnine self, finishing my studies, holding on to a job and eventually climbing up the material ladder with a new job. Dating my current boyfriend, I also qui many of my vices - smoking and drinking heavily, became more responsible for my life and emotional states. So much so, I ended up discarding many of my friends who are simply not in phase with what I'm going through. I've become 'uncool' and ultra-responsible. Some friends decided they don't like me no more and disappeared. But it's all cool.
Now that this opposition has moved into my 2nd (saturn) and 8th (Uranus) house. For the first time in my life, I'm conscious of the fact that with my will, I can get anything I want in my life and it has truly manifested in my personal life, my relationships, my job. I am working hard (but not hard enough) to pursue that one dream that has pursued me my whole life and in a year or two, I want to finally get there. Maybe it will coincide with my saturn return.
I haven't felt much of Uranus in the 8th house acting, other than stirring up desires to explore the unexplored creative urges I keep getting in flashes. With regards to money, I'm still not very good at handling it (splurged on some purchases that can be thoroughly justified!) but I will get there. Since Saturn has entered my second house, my self-esteem and value has taken a huge beating (usually coming from my unintentional partner who has the opposition is occuring in his 12th/6th house).
