You don't have your chart posted, so we don't have any way of knowing. I hope things get better for you. It may be some bad Mars or Uranus type of transits to Mercury, or maybe to any 3rd house planets or 3rd house ruler planet. Mars-Pluto transits can bring some surprises like that.

ive been through this for the last few days too, husbands accident was on the 30th though..there were a few brutal accidents in this area on that day. I havent looked at the transits really, all i knew is he had merc opposing neptune at the time it happened... he was thrown from the car into a swamp after the highway collision (head-on with a pickup truck) the ppl in the truck were ok though..
It was pretty traumatizing to see him after, he had bad injury to his eye and face(glass in there), blood covered head and the retina was torn off..broken back, and a messed up arm (mostly soft tissue damage...the only fracture was fractures to his vertebrae..which supposedly should heal) i dont understand how he is still alive after a crash like that
