It's been a few months since tribe requested our support in the form of premium membership. It appears that our contribution is essential for tribe's continued operation. By now this program has proved to be very successful. If you remember there was a time just when this started when tribe was down feeding us with "donuts" for hours almost every day. Now those days seem to be gone.
I think tribe deserves our support. It has been serving a crucial part in building our community and letting us stay connected in a safe and supporting environment, allowing us to be tuned to each others words, to know and inform others of events, and just play and have fun when we are bored at work. If you think about it - it is practically impossible to see our community function without tribe!
I would like to encourage you to be a *star* !
For only $5 a month (or $50 for a yearly subscription - this is what I chose + you get a t-shirt :)) you can feel that you support a service that you believe in, use, enjoy and love every day!
Don't wait anymore, just do it!!!

Re: Be a Star of the Tribe!
Thu, May 15, 2008 - 10:29 PMI'd like to pay anonymously by US postal system...and I don't want a star on my avatar or to be a part of the goldstar tribe...
I'd like Tribe to not ignore *new* members complaints or confusion. I'm not new but I sympathize with people who are.
Paypal doesn't appeal to me. T-shirts with logos don't mean a thing.
I'd like to know Mark Pincus cares for something other than developing gambling software for facebook...but I think there ought to be a way to contribute other than online...perhaps I am alone in that wish. -

Re: Be a Star of the Tribe!
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 9:15 AMI think right now tribe plays a very important role in keeping us connected, informed of events, allow us to discuss important issues, makes it possible for us to meet and get to know each other through different means than just the party scene. Personally, I have no interest in the other social networks because they would mostly connect me with people that I don't know and would never have more than a two line message swap with. But I do very much value tribe for connecting me with people that I care about and care about what they think, say and do. I would not want to lose that. I think tribe is run by people who care about building a conscious community. I think the fact that they cannot survive on the ad-based model is due to the fact that they are tiny compared to the other giants like myspace and facebook. That also reflects on their support services capabilities. To be honest I don't want them to grow that big anytime soon, it is best that it is a service that is kept for like minded people. If that means there some compromises we have to make as users, e.g. not having the best support, suffering a short downtime once in while, and not having support for postal service communication, so be it. It's totally worth it even with these inconviences.
I believe every one can afford the $5/month for a service we use on a daily basis. Just give up one drink a month and there you have it. Think about it, if tribe crashes tomorrow forever you may not know about any future parties and then you won't be buying those drinks anyway...
Don't make up too many excuses for yourself - if you think they deserve your support - just do it! -

Sat, May 17, 2008 - 9:04 AMyeah well one person's excuses are another person's explanations...if you catch my drift, Yair.
"Just do it" is get to be a tired old expression..it's overused.
