Well, that happened to me too, Coors.
Taurus began creeping up on me when I was about 26 or so.
Before that I only had a Taurus Rising person as my one romantic mingling with that sign....and my best friend with his Taurus Saturn singleton.

After 27, I began to throw in the towel regarding dating. Pretty much lost all interest in it.
Then Taurus started assuming a gradually increasing presence as a crucial ingredient in my love-life. Before that Leo held first place...but I gradually started to regard Taurus as much....like maybe Leo is what I want but Taurus is what I need(?)

Interestingly enough, my Moon sign opposes Taurus and my Sun sign opposes Leo. So apparently my Moon sign's needs were gradually realized and raised to the same level of importance as my Sun sign's desires.

Wow...
This topic has become an astrological study in the personal evolution of anima and animus.

Kind of like two people who meet in the hallway and always go the same way to avoid bumping into each other - the result: We bump into each other. But it's good for a laugh. One of us always has to measure the real urgency of what we are trying to say and take a bow to the other. Neither of us has ever felt put off by the other except if we were arguing.

Both of us have strong Aries traits, my Mars conjuncts her Sun in Aries...and my Saturn conjuncts her Mars in Taurus. And these two conjunctions are semi-sextile to each other and tied into our synastry in various other ways through Jupiter and the Moon. There is a mutual fire Grand Trine involved. Our Venus aspects are somewhat harder, but our relationship is usually very cooperative and harmonious. I almost can't imagine someone easier to live with and share responsibilities. Alot of teamwork between us.

I have a Sun opposite Saturn Square pluto T square and my Best GF that i mentioned in an earlier post also has Sun Opp Saturn (Pisces/Virgo).

Interestingly my current dating partner shares a challening natal venus/uranus aspect (me a square and him an inconjunct) and we both have a challenging natal merc/uranus aspect (me a square and him and opposition). It is funny because we have the same freedom/close challenge plus the "flashes of wacky insight". We tend to talk over each other when on the phone and we are tanget twins...but its not so bad...few people can really make me laugh ( I am usually the one doing it) and its nice to have someone who gets your struggles a bit....actually with the venus uranus stuff - it makes it easier to understand a need for space and freedom.

Also they both have their suns conjunct their SN ( hers in Pisces and his in Aries). I not only have a planet conjuncting their SN ( hers\ Jupiter 4 deg, his \ Chiron 5 deg) but I also have planets that heavily square the nodal axis (her = My Neptune and Mars, Him= My Mercury and Venus). I also have a planet conjunct his NN.

One more thing about the men I met also this year - they have a flavoring of Taurus...a sign I have NEVER gelled with (maybe I am too much Scorpio). The Earlier NN Aries had Mars and Asc in Taurus. The person I am with now has Taurus Merc (his only earth planet), yet has Taurus on the IC and has his Venus and Sun in the Second house (Taurean Aries flavors) - he has said he has issues with possessiveness although I have not seen any of that....I failed to mention that before I dated either of these too guys there was another man after me..Aries Sun, Taurus Moon, Pisces Merc and Mars...... too funny.

Since I am talking of squares - Intesrestingly I read an article by John Yale on asteroid Vesta:

ttp://astrologeometry.com/2007/08/23/vesta-as-a-vital-love-component/

He talks about vesta as a vital love component but more interesting are his ideas that the most powerful markers of relationships are in fact the 4th harmonic aspects between only a few different placements and planets: Sun, Moon, Nodes, Vesta, Vertex, ASC Axis and MC axis. Interesting for those who think that many trines mark good relationships........

This is the basis of what I am trying to approach with this topic. I've also heard that people who have lots of semi-sextiles (like me, for instance) tend to attract people who have the same planets in a hard aspect like a square. This is like two people who deal with the same negaitive issues, but one doesn't have it as bad as the other. The one with the easier aspect has an easier time dealing with the negativities...but also doesn't have such an urgent meeting of the energies of these planets and doesn't have such a point-blank view as a person with, say, a square...so the semi-sextile person will never merge the energies of these planets with as much drama and finality as the square person. The semi-sextile person is dabbling while the square person is locked in a more serious conflict of energies. The semi-sextile person can learn about himself by observing the square person's behavior...and the square person is able to get assistance from the semi-sextile person by sharing his or her problems with them...because the semi-sextile person is not as crippled by it's effect. Pretty wild shit, if you ask me.

Sun/Chrion
Venus and Merc/ Chiron
also my Saturn midpoints to Sun, Merc and Venus all fall in Aries...

My b-day is actually Jan 7, 1975 at 7:36 pm in Tarrytown NY. You are right about the Juno's ...mine is in Pisces and his is in Scopio conjunct my moon by 2 degrees.

I have an interesting story recently on my dating life..I do feel chiron is a big deal for me...with a sun saturn pluto T square I look to the self confidence of Aries to help me overcome my fears etc. Last summer i met a guy and we started dating...His Saturn and NN were conjunct my Chiron. The relationship didnt last long ..but I was so much more aware of the things I did in relationships and how I caused injury to myself that way - for me its not speaking my mind...the dishrag effect...being afraid of revealing what I really think thinking people will withdraw affection. So then in August I get in touch with someone my intuition steered me to after a 1 year silence...Aries/Pisces again. This time my Chiron is conjunct his SN and Sun.

Last week I bought a book by that fabulous author Jan Spiller "Cosmic Love". I was facinated to read the nodal stuff that applied here. In the NN conjunct Chiron she said that this person is in your life "to make you aware of the wond that needs to be healed" - that relationship totally did make me aware...but it was not to be worked out there. Then with the SN and Sun conjunct SN it stated its a heavily karmic connection with that person possibly being the one who inflicted the wound. Through this relationship I am expressing and working out the actual karma.....

Either way its an interesting theory....

As for chart confiurations of the people I am close to ....I haven't noticed as much ...although I would say most people i know have lots of square and oppositions in charts...only rarely have I seen lots of trines. In fact my father has a major aspect - most negative between every personal planet..from what I have read that can mark a very old soul....

In both of the relationships where I actually started to think "M-A-R-R-I-A-G-E", Juno played a strong role. One had her Juno in my 7th House, and one has her Juno conjunct my venus.

Also, people often tend to think that relationships that get them excited are ones that should be cultivated. This was true for me in my teens and 20's...but in recent years I prefer people who make me feel calm, relaxed and centered. Taurus does this for me, and that makes sense partly because I have an overactive Scorpio Moon...but my Saturn is in Taurus and as a result I suppose "the Taurean way" gives me a sense of maturity and stability which I respect...and of slowly and surely taking care of business and practical details. This never happened in my past relationships when I was young and wild (excuse me). They were mostly Leos who aspired to my prototype idea of being "in love" through my Venus, and who intimidated my Mars in Aries to take out it's frustrations in the bedroom! ;-) Hee hee

I'm not sure I really agree with much that is said about HIGHER OCTAVES in astrology, were Neptune is a higher octave of Venus, and Pluto of Mars, and Uranus of Mercury, etc...but I do think that maybe we DO graduate into a "higher octave" understanding of love and relationships as we get older, and the planets or point in our charts which seem to be the most active as our "point of attraction" may change according to this octave change.

Also, someone here said that he as only one planet in an air sign (Aqu), and he has intensified relating through that planet with airy or Aquarian people. That is exactly the case with my Saturn in Taurus, which is the only planet I have in earth.
In my case and that other guy's case certain planets stand out because they are the only representatives of an element in a chart. My girlfriend's Jupiter in Scorpio is also her only planet in water...abd her I am with my Moon in scoprio conjunct her Jupiter giving her a whopping dose of Scorpionic feeling to expand on in Jupiterian fashion. Meanwhile, most of our relating is done through the fire-element. Now see, in a way this is related to the "singleton" in a bucket-pattern chart...which I really had hoped would be the predominant topic of the post. No matter. It's all related. A singleton planet stands out because it is physically isolated.

I have a locomotive pattern.
All my planets are arranged in a train-like pattern with Pluto as the locomotive, and Saturn as the caboose. Between Pluto & Saturn are three essentially empty houses - houses 7, 8 and 9 - if you don't count the South Node and asteroid Ceres in Leo. My first three girlfriends AND my own mother all were Leos with Mars and Venus in Virgo and something in Cancer too. Even my best friend (male) has a Virgo stellium. These people filled these empty houses for me, however after awhile I started to feel I had conquered or absorbed whatever I was suppoed to from these people, and they are now a permanent part of me so these houses are not really empty for me. (This was part of my recent topic "Do other people become us?")

Another point that might explain mysterious connections and relationships in some cases is the Vertex which really acts like the ultimate decendent: A composite "phantom opposite" of your Sun, Moon AND Ascendant...projected into the hemisphere opposite of your place of birth. It ca also explain alot of our own behavior and possibly what we unconciously try very hard to attract to ourselves.

I haven't seen your chart, Coors, but I wonder if you have a midpoint in Pisces where Chiron or some other planet in Aries is one of the "halfs". If the midpint is so close in Pisces, then something must be fairly close to Pisces (maybe Aquarius) in order to exact a Pisces midpoint where an Aries planet is one of the factors (halfway between Aries and Aquarius is Pisces).

I am also beginning to think that when we are exploring our own romantic side, we tend to work with easy aspects first...the type of stuff that makes teenagers' hearts (among other things) throb. But as we get older we start SPIRALLING in what we NEED more than what we WANT....or maybe a balance of both...and that's when things like Saturn and Jupiter...and maybe the little asteroid known as Juno start to play larger roles.

I don't know what your birthday is, but my girlfriends' Juno is in Pisces and my Venus conjuncts it. I believe this is a very strong connection for us. Maybe you have Juno in Pisces too if you are born in 1969 or '70. While Venus rules things like what simple things get us off, Juno is more related with how we view partnership and what things give us a sense of loyalty or betrayal in a relationship. Maybe you can see then, how Juno might begin to play a stronger role as we mature...because the very issues it deals with are more mature.

Neptune in Sagittarius
Uranus in Scorpio........so in terms on elements my chart it is pretty balanced but leaning more towards earth

I have a Virgo Stellium - Sun Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Juno in Virgo in the 8th and 9th houses

I seem to attract people with stelliums in there charts who are important to me. My old love has it in Libra...... My close friend has it in Sagittarius.......My current love interest has it in Aqua. I also have 3 good friends with stelliums in Scorpio, Libra and Sagittarius........My sisters both have stelliums as well in Libra and Sagittarius.....so alot of stelliums.... LOL!!

I have also noticed ......My biggest attractions have been to people with Venus in Fire signs.
My first bf, My old love and My current interest and A very strong attraction I had to someone had Venus in fire - 2 Venus in Aries , 2 Venus in Leo.....which is funny cause I have Venus in Cancer.......but I do have Venus square Pluto in my natal chart ......I guess I like a challenge :)

I also tend to be surrounded by people born in or around the cusps ........My Mom, 2 Sisters , Niece, Old love, Current love and 5 friends are all cusp born people..........including myself

One of my best friends has an almost 50-50 percentages of water and air. Her only fire is an Aries Mars, and all the guys she's ever liked were either Aries or Leo.
But, of course, neither turned out very well. I wouldn't say that elements were the issue, really, cuz I don't know the guys' charts, but she told me that her impression was they were the fun-loving, flirty type, whereas she wanted a real relationship.
So she broke up with all of them.

I have an overall water and air configuration as well, but can't stand fire types. Not socially, I mean. Some are indeed fun to hang out with, but I could never imagine being in a relationship with one, except maybe a Sag, with substantial water influences."giggles"

I also think that the house in which u have most planets will show the type of qualities u admire. Like I said, I like some, and I mean SOME of the Sag features, cuz I have 3 planets in my 9th house.

My mom, for instance, has most of her planets in air . A Sag Mars makes all her fire, and a Scorpio Venus, all her water. But she has 4 planets in the 10th house(Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Neptune), and likes Capricorn types of men.(my father included). And not just men. Those are the traits she admires the most.

Another one of my best friends has her Sun, Mercury and Venus in the 12th house and all the guys she liked were artistic, sensitive, loner types.

There is also that theory that if u have 2 planets in trine, and u find someone with a planet to trine both of those planets, completing a great trine, that person will give u a sense of "fated love".

The interesting thing is that for the last 2 years I have been attracting Arian/Pisces men. Now I have always attracted Aries and never knew why but the Pisces twist is new. I cannot really explain this on my chart other then Aries is on the 9th house and my chiron sits there...it also is the missing leg to my T-square. I just didnt have the patience for them then.

The current guy though I have noticed has a very similar chart to my friend. Their ASC are witin 15 degrees of each other and he and I have opp sign ascendants (Hers is conjunct my Sun). Both have Suns in the second house and my sun falls in both of their 12th houses, and my ascendant in their 7th and my mercury conjunct their ascendants. Elementally according to astro/com and the little Pullen report she is 14% Aries and then 13% Pisces. He is 17% Aries and 14% Pisces...those are the highest percentages. Both of them have deficiency in earth...which I have more of and I lack fire.

Saturn connections can show commitment though. IN fact there needs to be some saturn connection - just not TOO much :)

hrmm i can't say much about the patterns because i dont have a clear cut one in my chart (i think)

either way.. i do think oppositions and balance is a crucial part of one's decision to enter into a relationship with another.. i would say this matters more for relationships though than merely attraction, but im not sure.

i have only one Air sign in my chart and perhaps i emphasize this sign the most.. because i feel like am i mainly attracting others to this sign because i often have friends with strong strong Air...

however, its ironic because i feel like when this is the case, it does not take care of my emotional needs or my relationships needs or anything else really. once my friends enter my life.. they help me strength this sign but the rest is up to me.

i also once heard that in the old day astrologers in India would pair arranged marriages up with a spouse that was born 6 months apart... as an attempt to "balance".. theme of opposites once again..

When assessing the astrology of relationships, many if not most people look at interaspects, planets in other people's houses, and midpoints. No doubt these are valid criteria...

...but do some other types of comparisons play a large (or larger) role in how people relate?
In some cases, people seem attracted to each other through a balancing of elements, filling in each other's gaps...much as a husband and wife make up for each other's shortcomings and temper each other's rough edges. I have an abundance of Fire and Air...an adequate amount of Water...and just enough Earth to get in the door. I tend to have the longest, most serious and important relationships with people who have an abundance of Earth...but who can relate to me through just one or or two close aspects involving some combination of Fire, Air or Water.

I have observed the same tendency in other people: To find the most purpose and destiny in relationships compliment their shortcomings and as I said, smoothe their rough edges...and this is often most obvious (to me) in the blending of elements.

Now another type of comparitive factor occurs to me: Do we attract people who's chart pattern is significantly different than ours or very similar?

There are several types to consider:
     Locomotive
     Bowl
     Splay
     Bucket
     See-saw
     (...to name a few)

Some of these are similar, some are very different from each other. They represent a wide spectrum of the posible ways planets can be arranged in the 360* circle of the birthchart.

Do we tend to have relationships with other people who have chart patterns similar or "opposite" to ours?

In my own experience, I have a locomotive pattern (planets arranged like a train around the zodiac)...and I tend to form the most important relationships with people who have patterns consisting of stelliums or loose bucket-patterns...or generally people who have some pattern which is very different to mine.
