so i've been through a lot of the threads about the house systems and the overal message i got was, use the chart system that fits you best...

i have a fairly dificult chart , with asc 0 gemini (while i look and act more like a taurus) and im still not decided if venus or mercury chart be the chart ruler

then, i've been studying astrology for so long, and i saw my chart 10000 times & i still am dissatisfied with my huge 6th - 12th house axis with 2 whole intercepted signs..i would agree more with taurus-scorpio in there with libra-aries on the cusp wile they are mainly in the 5th-11th
would make a lot more sense since all my friends &lovers had strong aries or libra influences.............

so in a nutshell.... for someone who was born in the north (making some houses huge) what house system would you reccomend??

That's one of the reasons why I have switched to whole sign houses

Astrologers who accept the quadrant house systems like Placidus and Koch say that intercepted signs have to do with karmic issues.

at least you weren't born in the polar regions, then the Placidus and Koch house systems can't be used. Campanus is the only quadrant house system that can be used. Whole Sign House and Equal Sign House systems can be used with polar regions because that's mainly an ecliptic-based house system.

I think this depends... sometimes we look for relationships that balance us in some way, or show us latent sides of ourselves. So, if you've got aries/libra intercepted, you may seek those qualities in others, as you maybe have a hard time expressing them yourself. My mother's got Leo intercepted and has been married to my father (Leo Sun, Moon, and Pluto) for nearly 40 years. Maybe look at how you express yourself in these areas rather than looking at your relationships. I can say, that while my mom's also got a Leo stellium including her sun, you'd never guess it. She seems much more Virgo.

Could that also have something to do with progression? Is your mom an August Leo? Just curious because of my own Virgo tendencies as a Leo ascendant with a progressed Virgo ascendant (perhaps I'm literally turning into my Virgo asc. mother :P).

Well... it hasn't changed over time (20-some years that I can clearly remember). And her progressed chart right now has only Saturn in Virgo. So I wouldn't think so. And even with progressions, she's still a Leo. And Leo energy is typically pretty tough to miss.
