Sun opposition Uranus
The Sun opposes Uranus suggesting a situation in which self-will and independence is strongly marked. You sometimes act to create excitement and controversy. You can be hard to deal with because of sudden changes in behavior, eccentric notions, and viewing everything from a personal point of view. This confrontation with Uranus will set off times in your life when you will be high-strung and have a nervous disposition. You are very original, but also a little impractical. -

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Thu, October 1, 2009 - 10:20 PMI don't know if it's my Sun-Uranus opposition, or my Mars conjunct Mercury (or the combo), but I sometimes say things just to shock ppl, or use my words as weapons. I know the right buttons to push.
Uranus is likely to be prominent in a lot of our charts because we are interested in astrology, and I take that to be something most people are not interested in... we tend towards different ways of thinking. -

lol
I have sun-mercury opposition uranus and sometimes I get annoyed when I see someone so self-satisfied in their "i'm right" attitude that I will offer a line of argument that I don't even believe in just to shake the other person up a bit. Maybe its my mars in gemini playing devil's advocate though! I agree with your comment that uranus i likely to feature in the charts of people interesting in astrology. Uranus is in my second house, is a fire singleton, disposits my moon and is opposition the sun and mercury! -

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Fri, October 2, 2009 - 1:04 PMPaul,
You're right. Playing devil's advocate is so much fun. I like challenging people's stubbornness and I like people who do that for a living (ie. Bill Mahr). And you're a Gemini, Paul? My Gemini bro. hehe -

Sun, Mercury and Mars in Gemini!
I like making people think about their preconceptions or "comfortable" thought patterns! -

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Fri, October 2, 2009 - 3:38 PMhow interesting :)
How do you make people rethink those preconceptions? -

humour normally works best every time. Paint a situation they take to be obvious into an extreme situation and juxtapose it against something equally absurd. There's always some that resist it, but most people laugh first and think later. -
-
Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Fri, October 2, 2009 - 4:03 PMWell, we have seen some instances in the past regarding New Age beliefs and "ascended masters" where the other party was not keen on re-evaluating tightly held opinions. But, you can only do what you can, and the rest is up to the other person who will meet this "advocacy" with an open mind or ~ not. -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.

Fri, October 2, 2009 - 5:03 PMOpen minds, do they exist, Amia? lol.
Yes, humour is my best friend. You should read my blog. humour is beneath the surface. I could be a comedian, wait I am. ^.^ That's why I love satiric comedies and black comedies. Comedy speaks the truth in ways close-mindedness doesn't.

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Sun, June 10, 2007 - 5:36 PMI think Sun/Uranus shows a person who has a unique brand of self-expression, and also a tendency to feel that others are trying repress/opress/suppress him/her. It shows a kind of egotistical need to be unique...and maybe that's very general to say, since of course there could be many house-combinations...and I am also speaking generally about Sun/Uranus aspects.
I have Sun trine Uranus and my best friend has Sun conjunct Uranus.
He has a tendency to constantly assert his right to express himself as he chooses, rather compulsively and eccentrically. His conjunction is in Libra, and he seems to always want a high degree of "flaky-ness" in a relationship...(both giving it and getting it from others)...and there seems to be competetive need to balance who is "Top Flake"; It's like he one minute he wants you to be "on top" and the next minute HE wants to be on top. Well...that's the Libra conjunction, anyway.
In the case of your opposition, I think maybe you get into situations of "playing around witrh the truth", maybe even harmlessly. It sounds like maybe playing around with different versions of truth is how you express yourself and get close to others. Uranus in Sagg rocks the boat as far as how you might look at things...and Sun in Gemini wants to examine it one facet at a time. The result is a highly expressive tendency to try on different ideas for size, and to throw your ideas out there for the same purpose. Sounds like intellectual foreplay rules your world, maybe.

Sun, June 10, 2007 - 5:48 PMSun in Cap. opp. Uranus in Cancer, t-squared to Moonconj.Saturn in Libra. Maybe it's the Chiron rising, but I'm always on the opposite side, taking the alternative view. -

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Sun, June 10, 2007 - 10:55 PMMy Cap. Sun is intercepted in the 1st H, Cancer Uranus in the 7th. I am independent/self-contained. Why? Because I could never trust anyone to take care of me. I am iconoclastic, because the old order doesn't work for me.

Sun, June 10, 2007 - 6:08 PMHi Remi :
This is an opposition I also have in my natal chart. Sun Aquarius/Capricorn opposing Uranus in Cancer. It makes me a bit of a crabby antiquey type of comfort loving person. Always seeking home.
For you I would think your Multi faceted abilities of the Sun in Gemini and Uranus showing itself in Sagittarius would make you very apt to have good hunches and intuituion. Flashes of insight that you will be able to back up w/well produced records. If you feel yourself out of balance it might be times in your life when you ignore these hunches and the proofing of them. Maybe taking in too much information from eradic sources might cause some insecurities....Anything Gemini loves a lot of information and anything Sagitarrius loves to be right. -

Sun, June 10, 2007 - 6:22 PMREm,
What house are they in?
Gemini is inquisitive and fact collecting -great with names to things.
Sag sort of expands on subjects it wants more than the information it wants cross references and theories.
Both signs can be humorus, Gemini has a morbid streak while sag has a streak of sarcasm. Have you ever thought of being a columnist its readers would never grow bored and you would keep the boss on his/her toes.

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Tue, June 12, 2007 - 4:44 AMhellooo
i thought i'd contribute to this post..
my uranus is in the 7th house, trine to my sun in the 4th.... theye both conjunct angle (sun=ic, uranus= desc) but due to the big six house, they are trine...
Uranus is also opposite my chiron in the first , and is also trine my venus..
I'd say although uranus is in the 7th, i more see it as uranus in the first..
why, i dont know, but i have more effect on people then they have on me...
Its like i suprise people, shock them, confront them (in this case im talking about friends, family, coworkers, my girlfriend) although they accept the freedom oriented style i behave, they also rebel against it.. i am the type of person who takes chances, i like sudden decisions, weird behaviour... what more i dont know, but i do know that this uranus is my freebee out of misery.. it is in the same degree as my saturn in scorpio, and so while saturn squares my sun and venus and blocks them, uranus trines them and is cooperative..
also my girlfriends sun, moon and uranus is conjunct my uranus... in the 7th
she is a saggitarius, with sun moon mercury jupiter neptune uranus in saggitarius...
and ALSO... weird but true, every girl i met that had her sun conjunct my uranus, it made for a huge atraction especially on my part, and usually on both sides...

Re: Sun aspecting Uranus
Tue, June 12, 2007 - 4:54 PMSun represents your ego, husband, boyfriend, or boss; Uranus is about sudden change, represents friends also; Hard aspects usually mean something unpleasant. When this aspect is activated you may have unpleasant sudden change in your ego(car accident-Uranus is a highest in a Mercury octave) or a break up with a friend/boyfriend, sudden divorce or your boss may give your a negative review. However, your have to look at your Leo and Aqua houses and planets in them, are they aspected as well? Right now transiting Uranus and Jupiter trigerring this aspect, making it a T-square. I think Gemini new moon on Thursday may activate it. The conclusion: expect the unexpected this weekend. -

And I'm sometimes terse, as I was earlier also in your going insane thread. I said it was Mars square Mars, which it was, but that was only part of the story. It was also an episode in a much larger event, which Daniel Levinson (Seasons of a Man's Life) called the Early Adult Transition and Gail Sheehy (Passages) Pulling Up Roots, which we call Uranus squaring its natal place. It takes place from 17 or 18 to 22 or 23, although as a distinct period it will subsequently be perceived as having ended at 22, thanks to Saturn squaring its natal place at that time. It's the same transition that Wayne (loss of faith thread) is going through, although loss of faith is his issue and not necessarily yours.
There is in general, though, a religious dimension, sometimes an overt rejection of our parents' faith, more usually a subtle shift, not only in religious belief but in values and life orientation. As Sheehy emphasizes it's a period when you separate psychologically, if not physically, from your parents, becoming your own person. This is a period of mounting idealism and a need for a sense of community. People in their late teens and early twenties often travel, either going to school or moving temporarily to a different part of the country. Our journeying is both literal and figurative. We're exploring new places and new ways of being. Even if we stay at home we explore new idea systems and life styles and join communities (such as "the" astrological community).
We try to find ourselves, and in doing so question old verities. This is less overtly visible in women than men, but there is often a period in a Uranus age transit during which we feel the urge to do the unthinkable. That's why it's a period of delinquency, marked by an urge to break the rules. This is normal and healthy. By questioning our existing notions of right and wrong, often by transgressing, we're feeling our way to our own personal value system. It's unhealthy only if we don't rebel and manage to totally stifle the urge to misbehave.
Since you natally have Sun opposite Uranus, while Uranus is squaring its natal place it's also squaring the Sun. This accentuates your natural creativity and flair, and enables you to (want to) decide what kind of creative endeavor to pursue. Natal Sun opposite Uranus can be erratic and sensationalist, especially with Mercury and Mars squaring Neptune. Your imagination runs away with you. But you have something else that can potentially hold it in check. Those who don't know you well, who see the provocateur, might not realize that you're ultimately animated by a hard core of purpose. Your Sun opposite Saturn is stronger than Sun opposite Uranus. Underlying the creative and intellectual pyrotechnics is a cool, calculating nature. You're capable of disciplining yourself in pursuit of longterm objectives, and this will be more and more evident as you mature, especially after your Saturn Return.
Your recent Mars transit was, as I said, an episode in a larger transformation. As an event in its own right it predicts a period of tension and restlessness. Love affairs often begin or end during Mars age transits. More usually we change the furniture around, start taking a different route to work or school, change who we interact with and where we go and what we do on a daily basis. These are the sorts of things that tend to change during these transits, things that affect your daily, physical routine, but these changes are not what the transit predicts. What it predicts is the underlying urge, which might or might not lead to an external event.
Your creative flair can be seen in the distinct looks you've created in your portfolio, the tough babe (or rebel?), the demure maiden, the sophisticate. Do you take requests? I'll bet you could do a killer film noir. You know, the mysterious lady in the slinky dress and veil, with a cigarette holder, who wants to hire the hardbitten private eye to find her missing brother. But of course, there's more to her than meets the eye.
Given your Mercury conjunct Mars, I can't help wondering if your creative pursuit will involve one of the mechanical arts: photography, web design, architecture. Modeling, with your ability to express a distinct look, seems the most obvious, although I can't as easily see the Mars-Mercury connection in it. Thats's why I mentioned photography.
See, that's not so terse.
Spock

Resurrecting this post after 2 years? Well, I know that I am going through a psychological transformation and just last night I remembered quickly that I wrote about this transformation some years ago and with the power of the Internet I found this post and re-read everything. Now, you are saying that I have a Saturn transit =/. I think I have had this transit for the past four months =/ Bad saturn.
