Enjoy the drama! Transit Mars entered Leo on Oct 16th and will remain in that sign for an unusually long period of time, until June 6, 2010 (8 months!). It is slowing down and will go retro later this yr.

**If you have Mars in Leo, you’ll be having your Mars return which will be the beginning of a new trend for you, which could extend up to two years. The pace of your life is due to speed up now. This transit will give you more energy and may help you burn some calories too; however, you’ll have to watch your activities a bit because Mars can cause accidents, headaches, or high blood pressure. You will work hard at all of your goals and you may be more competitive now. You might appear aggressive so be mindful that you are not forcing your ideas on others, as this can hurt your relationships. You could give the impression that you are quite powerful and to some this may be intimidating and cause them to distance themselves from you. While you may have energy to burn, your patience could wear thin so be alert to this negative side of Mars.**
Mine is in the 1st, conjunct my Jupiter and square Venus/Mars until April. I was wondering why I have been hyper-active and keep doing risky things, such as running out in front of moving vehicles and playing with big black widow spiders while crushing cans to recycle. But I digress... Mars transits in the 1st can also sometimes make you ill, and I am down with a virus, though I am rarely sick. I take this transit as an unwelcome one also because Jupiter rules my MC and I don't need Mars mucking that area of my life up any more via the Jupiter conjunction square to natal Mars.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 6:20 PMMars will be in my 7th house conjunct my descendant by 5 degrees and then retrogrades into the 6th house (If I read up correctly, Mars retrogrades on 19 degrees) But a few sites also mentioned that it goes retrograde only on 20th December and then goes forward in March 2010. Can someone clarify this?
Mars retrograding explains a lot of things, especially with Jupiter moving forward just a week ago in my 1st house. According to Bob Marks, Mars rules activity; it doesn't matter if it's used for a fight or work, it just needs to express itself in action.
Mars retrograde in my 7th house means that I will be more actively pursuing relationships especially in business, and I would probably need to be very careful about not pissing people off when asserting my needs. Mars in Leo is also forming a great sextile with my diplomatic Libran stellium but will square my Uranium stellium at the top of my chart. I also see this as a potentially exciting time for in terms of pushing forward business wise, particularly with Jupiter entering my 2nd house in March. And I see myself with more energy and resources to work with others, especially since it also squares my natal Mars in Scorpio. I also look forward to the time that it conjuncts my natal Jupiter.
I need the extra energy!

Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 6:48 PMMars retrograde or any Mars transit for that matter intensifies feelings of entitlement (especially in aspects with Jupiter); the whole "it's not fair" cahoots especially when you feel that you've worked hard but someone else seems to be getting things that you want a lot easier.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 6:33 PMT Rx Uranus is exactly conjunct my natal Rx 7H Pisces Mars while T Mars is conjunct my natal 11H Leo Uranus. When T Mars goes retro, it will just complicate things further, it seems to me.
On the face of it, it sounded to me as though T Leo Mars would be just the energetic jump-start I need to get some positive action going, but I wasn't even considering the Houses, which makes a big difference for me in this. When I take the Houses into account, the picture changes into something more like what is going on rather than what I had hoped to have. Since natal Uranus opposes my natal 5H Aqua Moon/Chiron conjunction, T Mars is doing the same, ratcheting up the intensity. What has been bursting forth has been a heightened emotional involvement in collective issues so that they feel intensely personal and urgent. My emotions seem very primal at this time, but not so much on the level of close personal relationships as with matters of more global proportions ~ personalizing these in a disturbing way. Taking this in physically after filtering through the mind and emotions is akin to having my flesh eaten by bacteria. I feel almost unclean in knowing about certain things. At this time, the aspects to my natal Uranus/Moon opposition has rendered the Aqua part of the Aqua/Leo axis as anything but detached. Natal Uranus trine Sag NN and sextile Gemini MC is bound to be amplifying the whole dynamic as well. Natal Moon sextile NN and trine MC and Natal Chiron trine MC do not have an "easy aspect feel" to them right now. I hear screaming. It is very disconcerting.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 8:29 PMWould the transitioning Mars effect decisiveness/decision making?
Progressions with natal and transits?
or
Transits and natal? -
-
Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 8:31 PMIt will affect whatever it aspects. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Tue, October 20, 2009 - 8:42 PMHmm, if I look at Mars, its progression moves it into Capricorn 3rd house, getting mighty close to conjuncting with my natal Venus in Capricorn.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 2:44 AMIt will probably make you more impatient and impulsive and eager to get things done, sometimes without thinking of the consequences. -
-
Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 8:40 AMThat could make the next few months, interesting. Could be helpful or not so helpful.
Impulsiveness usually comes out with education/career/work stuff and relationship stuff in my experience thus far. -

Wed, October 21, 2009 - 9:12 AMLike Mercury Rx, Mars Rx tends to affect those of us who are more Martian. Some of you may not notice it at all. Unlike Mercury Rx, Mars Rx only happens every few yrs. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 9:32 AMI do think it also depends on certain aspects that can be triggered, as in my case. It seems kind of early yet to me to know what to make of it, but it looks like an erratic sort of energy with all that it is affecting in my chart. Once Mars goes retro, I wonder if it will seem to simmer down. I am used to a natal Rx Mars after all. -
-
Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 8:34 PMConsidering that so many planets are retro at any one point of time, I would think it normal for people to have one or two planets retro in their chart. It's a wonder then that ALL the planets in my natal chart are forward moving. I don't know if that's to be considered helpful or not.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 12:31 PMQuestion is, how do you know you are more Martian? Or Mercurian? Or Moonbeamish? Venusian? Etc.?
My other area of impulsiveness may be with moving/traveling at least it used to be.
Natally, Mars in Sagittarius 3rd house, near by are Neptune and Jupiter in sag. 2nd house. Maybe these help me land on my feet after an impulsive time has had its momentary flashes. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Wed, October 21, 2009 - 12:39 PMWell, it has been transitting my Asc/MC and Sun/Moon midpoints. It is certainly busy, I did wonder where Mars...ahem... was...., earlier on this week for one or two reasons.

Usually these planets will be more prominent via dignity, house placement, and/or aspect. You are more likely to be able to figure that out on your own through experience. Mars will be in your 10th/11th and trining your Sag planets, giving you optimism and energy in how you relate to others in your environment, esp. in work. It should be a productive time for you, if other factors don't over-ride it. It is opposing your Mercury, so you may be more agressive, or even combative, in how you communicate to others. I'd be careful of what I say around your superiors. You may be more irritable when it gets close to your Saturn in square aspect. You seem to have good control over your emotions though, so it probably wouldn't be a real problem. -

Thu, December 10, 2009 - 6:45 PMAre any other Martians having serious anger issues with this about-to-go-retro Mars??
I have the heat up full blast and I feel like I want to rip some heads off!!! Squaring Uranus... leading to homicide. You may print it. -

Can't relate. This, coming from someone who is admittedly very sensitive and has a strong sense of fairness and right and wrong, so I'm someone who gets pissed off and upset ALOT. If anything, I just learned that some things and some people frankly are not worth getting upset about. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Fri, December 11, 2009 - 2:44 AMdoes this mars retrograde affect scorpio planets also???
also....do all planets in aries get affected.... for example a venus in aries, rules by mars in pisces....
during the mars retrograde should the house with aries be taken into consideration, or the houses ruled by venus (since its in aries) -
-
Re: A Retarded Mars
Fri, December 11, 2009 - 7:36 AM"does this mars retrograde affect scorpio planets also???"
It's squaring them, so I'd say so. It's squaring my Uranus, and it hit a little late (after it perfected). I checked my transits to see if it was the Moon (which is conjunct Pluto), but it felt more Mars. I've been stuck on hatred towards a lot of people the past three days, and it's not female issues. I almost went on some word-paths, telling a bunch of (long-needed) people off... -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Fri, December 11, 2009 - 8:02 AMHey T,
It's squaring my natal Mars in Scorpio by 15 degrees, and Uranus at 18 degrees in Scorpio the top of my chart. Not so much hatred on my part but resentment. It's steamrolling on Mars and it will be some time before it hits Uranus
The energy is a complete turnaround compared to when Neptune/ Jupiter squared natal Venus by some months. My head are often in my pants and I'm floating about in my head getting lazy! -

Yeah, me too. Venus has been in my 5th for a while, and I have been incredibly physically lazy. Now my heart is beating out of my chest with rage and I am up with the sun.
I much prefer the hatred towards other people to the self-loathing I've had over the past few months.

Re: A Retarded Mars
Thu, December 24, 2009 - 8:47 PMThis Mars transit is really ridiculous. I have been waking up with headaches every day, and I feel like my third eye chakra has a hole in it.
I don't know if any of you have similar experiences, but I remember when it went retro last time, and all of my coworkers were fighting with each other so much that human resources came in. I usually begin jobs when the Sun is in Aries, as was the case here. I quit and went back to my old job (which was a less angry place) when it went direct and picked up speed. I'm starting to worry that if I get a job during this period if it might have that same negative energy.
At least there isn't another period until 2012.

"Sleep patterns, dietary habits and exercise routines are often affected by strange cravings or tendencies, anything that bucks the regular state of affairs. And as you might expect, the little physical inconveniences generally associated with quick seasonal or climate changes are also likelier to crop up—stomachaches, headaches, colds, allergies, or amorphously 'weird' feelings. During Mars retrograde, it's smart to listen closely to your body's messages… and to adjust your activities accordingly, in response to these variances."
Yeah. -

Thu, December 24, 2009 - 9:25 PMQuite interesting. I just started working on writing something I have titled "Arrow Through the Eye." I have been experiencing a number of synchronicities like this lately, and none have them have been cheery. Also, the frequency of my ocular migraines has increased. I used to only have one about once a year, but I had two in one month recently. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Yesterday, 12:01 AMRetarded Mars in my 7th house makes me knuckle down in relationships; not just on a personal nature, but also on the business level, particularly with clients. There are a lot of meetings, a few hours each (all of which I am not accustomed to) and coffees which are not just for the sake of delegating of who does what, when and how but also for relationships to be better established. A retarded Mars makes me see how little patience I have for other people, and it's good that I learn this here and now. The more successful business owners I know admit to putting in a lot of time courting the clients; business is not just an exchange between money and capabilities but how attuned you are to each other.
I find myself gritting my teeth through a meeting as I bounce off their ideas and resonate back to them while tapping a foot impatiently hoping that they'd hurry up and give me something to do for them already.
The saga continues. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Yesterday, 3:51 AMImpatience is definitely another facet... and my sister was complaining to me about how angry/impatient customers and coworkers have been at her work. She asked when Mars goes direct. Heh... Sorry.
I've been fighting a cold too, and I am not sick very often...

Re: A Retarded Mars
Yesterday, 9:08 AMTanit,
Mars has been retro'ing in my second house and (as you said) squared to 5th Uranus. I'm thinking Mars may aspect our Saturn and Pluto (and my moon) at some point too. I haven't really considered this, it just occurred to me. Interesting aspects of this retro Mars for us (or me atleast) is the conjunction to Jupiter at the end of the retro period where Mars will also square our/my natal Mercury and Mars. I suppose that will be the payoff at the end.
I've been feeling particularly restless since the retro. It's almost like my natal Aries Mars has been kicked into gear out of a deep sleep, or something. I've been particularly expressive with my anger and discontent (something my friends are not wholly used to considering my placid Libra moon/Taurus Sun demeanor) and I almost feel like I've got a lot of money to earn in a little bit of time, for some reason. I've been getting frequent headaches, too. -

Re: A Retarded Mars
Yesterday, 9:45 AMHey everyone Long time no see! Merry Christmas and I have missed you all!^^ I hope you all have been well and behaving since I've been gone! Lol! Ah discussing Mars I see! Very interesting planet. I Love the different colors Mars takes on when it is connected to different planets. Mars often shows us our fire and our spark in life and you just may see people doing what the Mars connection or influence suggest in their careers or just in general in life. Many people simply are their Mars as it relates to the first house cusp also and it can make up a big part of our self identity as it relates to what we do and how we act helping to be a strong or at least noticed influence. For instance I have Mars in a square to Neptune with Neptune in the 7th house(angular) and Mars in the 10th house(angular, accidental exaltation) helping to give a plethora of interpretations. I have been venturing into so many other branches of Astrology lately such as Mayan Astrology but, I think I can muster up an interpretation simply based on the fact that Astrology shows out in real life according to my "Energetic Reflection Theory". Having Mars in the 10th house usually makes for someone who is acting out in passion when it comes to their career helping to infuse this person with a need to be successful and to maybe even become famous or rise to the competition within their chosen field.. Having Mars in the 10th house is usually prominent in the charts of people who are into Sports and whatnot but, that is far from me anymore, actually since I was a child I haven't engaged in sports or extraneous activity of that sort. But my MC is in Pisces anyhow with Mars' energies simply manifesting in the 10th house in Aries rather. With Mars being in Aries we can see that action will take place in it's purest form for this person and they may be impatient but, connecting to certain planets distorts it a bit. Mars adds energy to whatever it touches and when connecting to Neptune it adds fuel to the imagination or creativity and maybe even psychic or energetic awareness if other aspects help to indicate so. Mars in the 10th house of Career in a square to the Ruler of my MC And the Co-ruler Jupiter in the 1st helps to signify that I am bound to have those energies affect what I do for a living. Jupiter in the 1st in Cancer helps relate to being Philosophical and a teacher in many respects as well as an emotional nature that may grow overboard but, provide as a landscape in mapping out how I may want to interact with society as well as how I will do so.Having Mars adds fuel to my beliefs and philosophies helping to allow the public(10th house) to perceive me as someone who may be boasting or a snob but, with the connections to Neptune from both Mars and Jupiter we can see that the illusion is a fault created on both of our faulty ends, hence I and Society.a Mars.Neptune connection helps me to not have a particularly rigid behavior and manner of acting out so Energies are being picked up and reflected back out to society and the effort may be on purpose on my end also at the same time. Mars/Neptune connection in the least can show Energy/Action and Sensitivity/Imagination all coming together within the individual and expressed through whatever other colorations are attached to it through the Aspects,Signs,Planets.Dispositions,etc. Squares help to relate to a career effort as well as an early effort helping to show talent in my opinion especially if the challenge is self motivated while, oppositions help to allow the energies to be expressed through other people allowing the person to find either trait Super Attractive or Greatly Detested. As for Trines we can make the relation to what the person does as a hobby which is an everyday thing for them as well as something they may do for fun and they may also show some need to be in an organization or in new and expanding experiences that represent whatever the connections show(for instance with Neptune they may be super sensitive and psychic at one point or super creative and talented and express it an gain the attention of others who are passionately motivated by this person and seen in society as something helping to stretch the minds of people and it can be something a person can teach others, also helping to show that this person may be performing(also seen with squares)musically),while Sextiles help to relate to friendships, networks, communication and opportunities that can be gained as expressed through the planets. This person could be good at what they do such as sports and whatnot but, they don't always pay attention to opening up to the shyer more subtle people so they may miss out on the opportunity for gaining friends and the same with Neptune.
Wow I have been typing on and on and on! I am just happy to be back!
LOVE and MISS YOU GUYS!

I concur with it awaking our Aries Mars because I am more angry, restless and I have had some pornographic dreams! I've been going back and forth between energy and exhaustion.
I actually am not talking to my two closest friends right now because I've blown too many friendships this year, and told them that they should not put up with me right now.
I hope the Mars/Jupiter conjunction brings a payoff... it squares our Mars/Venus/Merc in the 10th though, which would more likely sabotage a payoff that would be available! I've had 6 job interviews and not one has been fruitful yet. -
