I HEARD THAT THE TYPE OF PERSON UR ATTRACTED TO IS BASED ON UR VENUS AND SUN PLACEMENT FOR GIRLS AND UR MARS AND MOON SIGN PLACEMENT FOR MALES. IS THAT TRUE?

Re: ATTRACTION
Mon, December 24, 2007 - 3:28 PMattraction is a very complex thing. For me it has a lot to do with uranus I think.
But the sun/mars for girls and moon/venus for males seems to have more to do with what is expected of the opposite sex to me.
What a person gets attracted to is not always the same as what they expect from others. -

Re: ATTRACTION
Mon, December 24, 2007 - 4:07 PMyes, attraction is a complex thing ~ not necessarily the same for all people....
but a good clue is to look to the sign on the descendant for the 'flavor' that one is looking for in a partner
some people are attracted to those who have in their charts what they may lack (elements/hemisphere focus),
other are attracted to those who *resonate* in similar ways,
some (like me!) enjoy a good challenge & the sparks of opposition
in general,
the sign that Mars is in will describe what 'turns him/her on'
Venus will describe the style that he/she is naturally attracted to
the Moon describes the most natural way that emotions are expressed
(which is often tied to the person's experience with the female figures in their life and/or "mother" whatever that means to the person)
the Sun indicates a person's main focus
(& that can be tied to the experience with male role models, father figures, guiding principles & ideal self-expression)
the different Lilith forms (Black Moon, Dark Moon & asteroid) have been connected with especially magnetic, tempestuous & often difficult "fatal attractions", steamy love affairs & fascinating flirtations
& a few of the other asteroids like Juno, Eros & Psyche describe specific aspects of lust, love, attraction, etc.
then, if all of that isn't enough information,
planets conjunct in synastry between two people are likely to indicate something shared
love all-ways (there are SO many ways!),

Re: ATTRACTION
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 3:49 PMwhat do "lilth forms" mean? and where would i find that on my chart?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
all the Liliths that I currently use are available on www.astro.com (but I'm becoming aware that there are more & some of the forms are still rather confusing, so I hope you are not expecting an 'easy answer' on this!).....
here's what I got, so far (comments, suggestions, intuitive guesses & links much appreciated!):
Black Moon Lilith (the one most people talk about) ~ sign of a crescent moon over a cross ~ the empty focus of the moon's elliptical orbit around the earth -------> called just "Lilith" in the box of additional objects on the extended chart selection, highlight the word
Asteroid Lilith ~ will say "Lilit" on your astro.com chart ---------> asteroid #1181, you must enter that number in the additional asteroids or hypothetical planets box on the extended chart selection page
Dark Moon Lilith ~ will say "Walde" on chart ~ the hypothetical second moon of earth ~ also called Waldemath Dark Moon------> enter h58 in the additional asteroids, etc. box
here's what I'm still working on:
Fixed star Agol ~ also called Lilith ---------> check the box for "add some fixed stars" on the extended chart selection page & I believe that it will add Agol, along with others to the outer rim of the chart
interpolated Lunar Apogee (Lilith) ~ also called Natural Apogee ~ written as "intp" on chart (correct me if I'm wrong) ~ the farthest point from the earth in the moon's orbit ------> listed on the hypothetical planets, etc. page, there is a link to it on the extended chart selection page, h21
h13, Osculating Lunar Apogee ("True" Lilith / Black Moon) ~ I think this is an alternate calculation for Black Moon Lilith (which is not on object, but a mathematical point, so like the Moon's nodes, can be calculated a few ways) & if I am correct on this, should always fall just within a few degrees of the crescent moon over a cross symbol on the chart, listed as "osc"
I hope this helps ~ it sums up just about two years of my un-tangling of all these forms, but in no way am I implying that this is my "final answer"!
love all-ways,
Re: ATTRACTION
Wed, December 26, 2007 - 11:18 AMTo see what kind of person you are attracted to in your own chart, I would look at 7th house from the Ascendant and the Moon, the lords of these signs, as well as the planet Venus. The 7th house is the house of your partner, while Venus is the planet of sex and relationships. There is a special harmonic chart in Vedic astrology called the navamsa that we look at for relationships. Jupiter is the planet of the husband, so for people looking for a husband Jupiter is important too. Venus is important for everyone, regardless of gender or preference.
The Sun comes into play when comparing two charts. You want to look for compatibility between one person's Sun sign and the other person's Moon sign. That's why 7th from the Moon is important, but also the same sign as your Moon too.
Re: ATTRACTION
Thu, December 27, 2007 - 4:38 AMThis is interesting because my partner's 7th house is Aquarius (which is my Sun Sign). His Venus is in Sagittarius, which is my Moon sign and a big part of my personality. His Mars is in Cancer, and I am the nuturing, domestic type. My Venus is in Pisces (his Moon sign). :o)
I've noticed that for myself, I am attracted to where my Mars is (in Taurus). I like a quiet but strong, dominating male.
Re: ATTRACTION
Fri, December 28, 2007 - 2:30 PMI have heard the same thing. I'm very attracted to someone whose Black Moon Lilith is conjunct (1.0 orb) my Venus and whose Walde is exactly opposite my Black Moon Lilith. The day I realized I was attracted to him (have known him for years prior), Venus was conjunct his Black Moon Lilith-my Venus and square transiting Pluto and Hades. -
Re: ATTRACTION
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 3:22 PMI say Mars in a woman's chart shows what she finds most attractive in a man. What she finds sexy, actually.
I have my Mars in Gemini, one of the brainiest signs, and I never liked "macho" types. For me the greatest turn-on is a man who controls himself and his instincts. The types that hide their sexuality.(Gemini is known for its androgynous streak)
When I was a kid I had a huge crush on Boy George. Nobody told me it was unusual for a guy to wear make-up, so I kept saying he looks pretty to me."giggles"
I also like a good sense of humor. Jim Carrey will always be in my top 10 sexiest men in the world."giggles"
Then, there's the Descendant. That shows which sign completes u best. This works equally well for both men and women. -
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 3:59 PMnatalie,
it doesn't have to be someone with sun, moon or asc in any of those signs, just someone who has those traits.
With Mars in Sag, u're probably attracted to athletic men that also have a brainy side, an interest in philosophy or other abstract sciences and possibly someone who shares ur views and beliefs.
Re: ATTRACTION
Dunno much about eros and psyche. Actually, I remember reading on cafeastrology that eros shows the way u love, not the type of partner u attract.
And according to the bobmarksastrologer site, Juno shows the type of partner u attract, whether u like it or not. "giggles"
I've never liked any Leos.
Re: ATTRACTION
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 4:14 PMActually, it does matter. when Sun and Moon are in square, that's a very difficult aspect. Especially when the man's Sun is square the woman's Moon.
The opposition is equally challenging, but it has a bigger chance of survival than the square, because the attraction is very strong and both parties are willing to compromise and accept each other's differences.
The sextile is a very easy aspect. Its shows there's an opportunity for a relationship to blossom, but it might not show an actual attraction.
The trine and conjunction, especially between a Man's Sun and a woman's Moon are very harmonious aspects in a relationship.
Re: ATTRACTION
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 10:44 PMI think that for me --who no one in this forum cares about :)-- I am like how Kissinger said that the US doesn't have allies but has... interests... in how I approach this topic... :)
That's an astrology joke, ok? :)
I mean, look at my planets:
Sun/Moon: Gemini/Aries
Venus/Mars: Gemini/Taurus
I have no planets in the "Others" house, House 7 which is in Aries.
My Uranus is in Scorpio (House 2 for those keeping track at home), which, from what I can tell, suggests I'm a freak or approach things... interestingly.... :)
So, from all this I guess I like fit, strong, intelligent women who I meet for really intense and weird "conversations" that don't matter. -
Re: ATTRACTION
Sun, December 30, 2007 - 7:12 AMWell, Morgan, it's the 7th house cusp that's most important. That's the sign and the very degree of this sign at which the 7th house begins. That's the Descendant.
But, of course, just because one of the two has his/her Sun close to the other's Descendant, it doesn't mean that they're a match made in heaven.
There are tons of other aspects to be considered, like I've said before.
Sun, December 30, 2007 - 7:23 AMWith Mars in Aquarius, unless it makes any major aspects to other planets, u're also likely to be interested in men who are brainy, cultivated, sociable, in one word, "polished".
Aquarius is the most human of signs, so that should say a lot in itself.
It would really help if u posted ur charts.(urs and ur boyfriend's, I mean)
My Best long term friends were my lovers at one time also. I have a will also to stay freinds..Well lotsa Cancer too sooo....
Also might this show an atraction to...how do I say...The feeling like they are so diferent than anyone else you've ever connected to.
Re: ATTRACTION
Sat, January 5, 2008 - 11:31 AMYeah, aren't Aries and Libra opposite eachother in the chart? I mean, 1st and 7th houses?
I have 7th Cap, which confers I'm attracted to those who've "ascended" or have some sort of social standing/maturity to them. Mars is in Aries, sexually I'm all about that Ram nature. Venus is in Aries too, but I'm not so into loving Aries' love nature tho I am more of a Libra lover and my moon is in Libra.
Which is just confusing....so I guess one can't really tell attraction to a T by planet placement. -
