Hi,people!

I just read this topic about planets in the sign on the 1-28 degree.

So, what is the deal with planets on the 29 degree.
Is that important because its the last degree, or it can be only interpret in Sabian symbols, with with no special meaning to it.

Couse i have mars in 29 degree in scorpio.
And it does fit me, but i wander if i get those scorpio charasteristic from my other scorpio planets.
Im confused

Any insight?

Astrologers tend to reduce things to Black and White too much.
There is nothing "magical" about the 29th degree.
It's just that each consecutive degree from 0 - 29 has an increasing level of Instant Karma for us.
This may increase exponentially with each degree so we may notice the effects more when we reach the highest degrees.
This means that as the degrees increase, we need to work more directly and spontaneously with the energy associated with the planet in the sign of question...or we have some kind of direct and instant "slap in the face" regarding it. The situation becomes critical.

For instance, my Saturn is at 29* 59' Taurus in my 6th House.
In matters related to working carefully, patiently and responsibly...and taking care of details and responsibilities associated with the 6th house...if I don't respond with urgency to these things I will suffer INSTANT KARMIC DISTRESS. I am 5x as likely to be chewed out for something that someone else also does wrong, believe it or not. I sometimes look on with disbelief as others get away with murder while I have to answer for the smallest mistake. Also, the same goes for paperwork and documents and other types of responsibilities. If I don't take care of things, I will have almost supernaturally impossible occurences come back to slap me in the face.

This should give an idea how the latest degrees work.
It's very good to keep a dossier of EVERYTHING related to your planet(s) of highest degree.
This will show your most critical areas of life.
It's ok to put everything else on the back-burner for a planet of highest degree.
    I'd highly recommmend it!

        Your welcome!
Remember that Karma sowed with planets in earlier degrees will be reaped LATER...as opposed to the planets of later degree which are reaped instantly, more or less.

This gives one a great idea of how to prioritize things in his/her life.
Take care of the business associated with your latest-degree planets first.
You can make a list of your planets in decending degrees, so you know which ones need the most immediate attention.

Next, you can also organize your planets by aspects so you end up with groupings of higher-degree planets whcih aspect each other.
This represents your most crucial themes in life.

Bear in mind that some planets will aspect other planets which are both slightly higher AND slightly lower in degree than they are.

So many people think that they need to start with a Sun Sign or an Ascendant when using astrology to unravel their life.
If you really want to gain control of your life, work with the most immediate and demanding energy first.
This will clear the level so you can go to the NEXT level of priority.

I will do it for myself as an example:

        (Jupiter @ 29* 57' Saggitarius) QUINCUNX (Saturn @ 29* 59' Taurus)
        (Jupiter @ 29* 57' Saggitarius) TRINE (Mars @ 27* 36' Aries)
        (Mars @ 27* 36' Aries) SEMI-SEXTILE ((Saturn @ 29* 59' Taurus)
        (Pluto @ 1* 42' Libra) TRINE (Saturn @ 29* 59' Taurus)
        (Jupiter @ 29* 59' Saggitarius) SQUARE (Pluto @ 1* 42' Libra)

So you see, Saturn and Jupiter set up the most immediate, crucial and demanding energies I will work with in my life because they are at the highest degrees and form the tightest aspect. The quincunx causes a stressful perpetual adjustment between Saturn's restrictiveness and Jupiter's expansiveness. Mars figures in next at 27* 36' Aries and fuels Jupiter's desire for expansion, while needing to literally live up to some points of Saturnian discipline through the semi-sextile. All these planets come together in this little complex which is uniquely mine. ;-) The Jupiter-Pluto square causes some conflict between power-issues in my life and the way that I attempt to expand myself.

But notice how Pluto figures into this complex by squaring Jupiter...although Pluto is actually at a very early degree.
So Pluto is actually the DELAYED Karma in this case.
Pluto is where I will eventually reap whatever I do not deal with in the complex of higher-degree planets.

        Is this making sense? =-)

Ok,This aspects and karma relations does sound a little complicated,so ill take one step at the time :)

I m guessing since my mars is in sixth house and in conjunct uranus i should also be careful in my work and in my health.
I know excersise is important, and when im ina bad fase, i get very high temperature, ..so yes, I should take care of my health

One more question ,do you belive in cusps?
Like when a planet, sun,moon,mars... in in the late degree it takes over some of the charasteristics of the next sign
          • Unsu...

I did a little research since yesterday, and mostly all explanations i found were just like FJ said. And i found an answer to my question about the cusp.I never like the idea of cusps anyway, its confusing

"No such things as cusps in real astrology. 29 and 0 degree planets of a sign are critical degrees.

Many astrologers consider 0 and 29 degrees of any sign critical degrees as well. The 0 and 29 degrees are more crisis-oriented points, especially in predictive work.

If a natal planet is found at 29 degrees of any sign, also known as the Anaretic degree, there can be some real issues with decision-making in that part of the personality represented by the energies of the planet. The native may evaluate and re-evaluate situations before making a move one day, and the next day, jump into the action without listening to himself or herself!

For example, if Mars is at 29 degrees, the native may devise many plans of actions, worry excessively about the possible actions and different routes to take, and then execute a spontaneous action that is contrary to the decision!"

With my mars, this description fits me perfectly, now I know why I do this things, and I do act like this all the time.

"Besides decision-making problems, vacillation, and jumping into situations blindly, the 29th degree is also associated with a sense of urgency. It's the last degree of the zodiac sign, and there can be a real sense of urgency surrounding the characteristics and associations of the particular sign.

In astrology, the anaretic degree is the final degree of any sign, which is 29 degrees 0 minutes to 29 degrees 59 minutes. This degree is considered to be a critical degree, so any planets or celestial bodies placed within that range are likely to display the most extreme attributes of the sign or planet. Generally, when a planet is posited an anaretic degree, it the means that one cannot get enough of whatever it is they want."

            • I am a little afraid to ask, how then would this apply to the Asc-Dec Axis? Must make me the worlds most indecisive woman...Ok by me, I think others might do well to think things through before action...

Yes, it does sound like a potentially inflammatory conbination: Mars & Uranus (no pun intended!)
Perhaps inflammatory for your for your health...but perhaps Uranus give you the ability to work in sophisticated ways with energy (Mars) in the body (6th House).

As far a s cusps go, I think of cusps as like the surface water...breaking from one level of existence to another. And it is often easier to see ahead than to see behind (look back and you see the reflective surface - look forward and see a blurry idea of the future). So you are rising from the waters of one sign to the less dense and more ethereal realm of the next. Is it possible to have your head out and your body IN the water? Sure! Each life lived on a cusp will have slightly differing degrees and we learn form experience where are and where we are probably going. There are progressed degrees for every person...so if born near a cusp you may actually progress from one sign to the next in your lifetime. I find that spontaneous living and meditation and reflection all have their place in find these things out for yourself.

            • just ran across this:

The Anaretic Degree, sometimes also called the Karmic Degree, is most often referred to as the 29th degree. To better understand its significance, let's break it down mathematically: The full wheel of the Zodiac contains 360 degrees and is composed of 12 houses (representing the 12 Signs). Thus, each house contains 30 degrees. Each degree within a house is labeled 0-29; therefore, the 29th degree is the last degree that a planet travels through in any house. If you have a planet positioned at the 29th degree in any of the houses of the Zodiac in your chart, you could say that planet is stationed at the Anaretic Degree.
Your personal astrological chart is a snapshot of the planets in the heavens. It captures the location of the planets within the houses at the exact time of your birth. Astrologers look to the characteristics of the planet at a Karmic Degree and respect its teachings. In Astrology, it is very significant if you have a planet at the Anaretic Degree. If a planet is in this position at the time of your birth, it means that you are very close to mastering an important lesson of the universe, but you have not quite achieved success. It is only when the lesson of that planet is mastered that you may move on and progress spiritually and universally. People with an Anaretic Degree have a lesson to learn.

Astrologers take the meaning of planets at an Anaretic Degree and encourage people to push themselves in the directions of the planet's characteristics. This planetary position signifies an urgent need to correctly utilize the energy of that planet. The lessons it indicates cannot be ignored if the individual wants to grow and transcend or achieve reincarnation and spiritual reinvention of the physical form.

Below is a list of the meanings of each of the planets when they are positioned at the Anaretic Degree. Find which placements are in your chart. For a more precise reading, the attributes of a planet at the Karmic Degree must be taken into consideration along with the Houses and the Signs that the planets occupy.

              Planets
              Sun

When positioned in the 29th degree of your chart, the Sun indicates a need to focus more on your identity and your sense of self. Answer the question, "Who am I?" Deeply consider your roots and how they've shaped the person you are. Issues with your father or your father figure may need to be resolved. You may often have difficulty relating to men due to this conflict. Keep your ego in check. Work on your sense of individuality and cultivate proactive channels of self-expression. Pay closer attention to certain aspects of your health, mainly issues concerning your heart, back and spine.

              Moon

Spending some time unpacking your emotions is time well spent. The Moon encourages us to open ourselves up and to communicate our true feelings. There may be issues with your mother or women in your life that you need to resolve. Listen to your instincts and your feelings and make efforts to express them more honestly. Pay attention to your mood. Your first reaction may be the best; trust your instincts and reflexes. Seek out or offer your mothering and nurturing side. Pay close attention to the health of your stomach and breasts.

              Mercury

Mercury is the Planet of Communication, and at its Anaretic Degree it focuses on the lesson of expressing oneself more clearly. Strut your intellect and practice your mental dexterity. Stretch your vocabulary and use new words. Take the time to contemplate your mental processes and explore your inner mind. You are preoccupied with issues of mental health or mental acuity. Practice the logic that you study. Pay closer attention to the health of your arms, hands, shoulders and lungs.

              Venus

You've always had issues with relationships and romantic partners, and in this lifetime you need to work the kinks out of having a successful relationship. Beauty, charm and aesthetics are also worthy of your reevaluation, and thinking about what makes something or someone pleasing is a big part of that lesson. Assess your relationship with material possessions. The company you keep is more culturally astute and you hope to emulate their tastes. Seek harmony and sociability in everything you do and you will reach the popularity you seek. Pay close attention to the health of your throat and kidneys.

              Mars

Problems with asserting yourself have always been an issue; you're on the cusp of either learning how to be more aggressive or learning to keep your aggressions in check. Learn to put your needs out on the table rather than surrounding yourself with people who fight your battles for you. You have suppressed passions that you need to bring to the surface. Get closer to your own sexual energy and expertise and bring the lessons of assertiveness into the bedroom as well. Once you have courage and willpower, you can have whatever you want. Pay close attention to your health concerning blood, cuts, burns and headaches.

              Jupiter
The Planet Jupiter encourages you to achieve your goals. Go back to school if you've been wanting to, or self-educate. Get in touch with a higher sense of thinking and learning. Take note of ethics, religion or foreign affairs. Explore more of the world outside of yourself. Avoid excess in drinking and risk taking. Take advantage of opportunities that involve long distance travel. Any or all of these experiences will bring the enrichment you desperately need. Pay attention to the health of your liver, hips and thighs.

              Saturn

If Saturn appears in the 29th degree in your chart, it symbolizes that you've never learned to take proper responsibility for yourself and that you need to get organized, once and for all. Learn your limitations and accept them. Make plans accordingly. Deal with your ambitions and your frustrations; take real steps to make your plans come to fruition. Patience is something you've always battled with and you've never had a great respect for authority figures, but part of moving on is learning how to deal with both. Practice diligence. Ask for assistance when you need it. Learn how reassuring and comforting a little structure in your life can be. Pay close attention to the health of your knees, skin, bones and teeth.

              Uranus

Accepting revolutionary ideas -- your own or someone else's -- will take you to new heights. You've always been one to be stunned by bizarre, erratic happenings, but you should learn to accept these events as great opportunities. Celebrate the differences and the oddities of the world around you and you will become an active participant. Until you learn this social tolerance, you will never progress to the next stage of universal development. Your dependence on stability is keeping you weighted down. Create and invent new projects and new possibilities. Pay close attention to the health of your nervous system and your ankles.

              Neptune

With Neptune in your Karmic Degree, you've never learned how to face an issue head on. You always escape your problems or pretend they don't exist. Too often this planet brings with it alcoholism or drug dependency, or the kind of shallow happiness that comes from faded glamor and tattered gowns. You currently deal in smoke and mirrors, and planting yourself in the here and now is the most valuable task you can undertake. Unveil the secrets of your life and deal with them directly and frankly. Pay close attention to the health of your feet.

              Pluto

You've always had a difficult time accepting changes, letting go and starting anew. Recognize that change is a chance for rebirth and rejuvenation and that death is an infallible part of living. With every ending there is a new beginning. Your tendency is to hang on to the past for as long as you can. Accept the hand life deals you; take it moment by moment. Learn to start anew and to make life where there was once nothing. Pay closer attention to the health of your reproductive system.

With this second Scorpio Full Moon occurring in the 29th degrees of Taurus and Scorpio, we will be tested on the lessons of these elements – stabilize your 'Earth' by recognizing and releasing the emotions that de-stabilize you.
How have you mastered the Taurus lesson of discovering your values?
What are the talents you were born with and how are you using them?
Are you a good steward of the Earth, responsible for creating a personal sustainable lifestyle?
Do you listen to and trust your senses?
Practice extending your senses 360 degrees around you – what do you hear, see, smell, taste and sense?
                      What is life telling you?
Exercising these muscles will strengthen your instincts again.

  • I have moon in aries in the 29th degree. My moon is square mars and conjunct my sun and mercury. I just read last night about the 29th degree after realizing how horrible I am at making big decisions. I get a huge feeling of pressure inside and a feeling of intensity when I have a big decision to make (such as a change of job, move, buying a house, etc.) and I will go over and over it in my mind--the pressure will build, and then I HAVE to make a decision and I do and the pressure is relieved, but then often I'm left with chaos because the decision was poor--it's as if I didn't think through all the consequences carefully.

My ascendant is in Leo, also in the 29th degree.

I don't know how to mitigate the problems associated with this.

I dont know, i dont really have problams with making decisions .

      My problem is this
" if Mars is at 29 degrees, the native may devise many plans of actions, worry excessively about the possible actions and different routes to take, and then execute a spontaneous action that is contrary to the decision!" "

Its like, I say ill do this, this ,and this and than i do the exactly opposite, i rush into things without thinking, like i have no brain and control over my impulses.

The trouble is specially when im trying to explain to my self why I should NOT do something, when i end the list of NO-s, i go and do just that. Well,at least i get to amuze my self with this :)

As for the moon on the 29 degree i found this.

I have aries lagna & my mars is in the 29th degree of sagitarrius.
"if Mars is at 29 degrees, the native may devise many plans of actions, worry excessively about the possible actions and different routes to take, and then execute a spontaneous action that is contrary to the decision!"

In the 29th degree the planet has compiled all knowledge & experience from the previous degrees of the sign. The conclusion leads a person back to phenomenology, the running experience of consciousness; read:
    plato.stanford.edu/entries/...menology/

For the anaretic degree there is a nihilism associated with abandoning ones knowledge & experience, and behaving like new. Some astrologers interpret this as the planet is weak. I don't think this is the right attitude.

Think about a chess player who's played tens of thousands of games. He has a vast range of knowledge & experience he brings to the table, lessons from past games he's played. When a new game starts he sets the old games behind him. The game is new and anything could happen. Yet if one of the old scenarios pops up which he's experienced and delt with before, he will know how to react.

The anaretic degree planets have a sort of immunity to all the problems of the previous degrees.

The pattern is to take the new experiences & integrate them with the old; but still focusing primarily on the old. Not good at reacting to new experiences, but the planet develops mastery over time; so it is good for tasks which require mastery.

This is why the planet is said to be 'tired'. Mastery is attained through repetition. Approaching the same task, again and again, exploring all possibilities & integrating them. Mastery is achieved by making mistakes. The planet sort of seeks out new mistakes to make, in order to integrate them.
