Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 5:16 AMwe share saturn Q moon.
I think its about the gift of self discipline
what do you say? -
-
Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 1:46 PMsaturn Q moon?
cafeastrology had this to say about that:
"For your full creative powers to develop, you need periods of solitude but your own unique individual creative powers are developed through your own individual reflections. Studying the works of masters rather than reading another person's interpretation of the work of a master can also benefit you. You have the ability to develop new methods and concepts that are useful and practical."
*
Self-discipline...
I can NOT say that I have been particularly disciplined - I have other terrible aspects:
retrograde Uranus in First House, trine Sun, square Mercury, square Venus.. - if I don't use this energy consciously it would make me quite erratic, rebellious and wacky, no matter how much i want to fit in or do good in the usual sense...
Venus square Jupiter gives me a tendency to be overindulgent, doing what i want regardless of anything else...
Scorpio rising also contributes to that ("I want what I want when I want it and I'll get it no matter what or how..")
I also have a couple other placements that encourages procrastination or paralysis until issues are resolved.
All these overpower my supposedly super-responsible CAPRICORN MOON...
***
So I can't affirm or deny whether Saturn Q Moon is about self-discipline...

Tue, November 20, 2007 - 5:21 AMon the cafeastrology site they give the same interpretation for quintiles and biquintiles. Does that mean they're just as important? -
-
Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 1:50 PMit has been said that some astrologers who do not have much time to spare overlook minor aspects because it takes much time to find them... they're not as easy to spot as trines, square, oppositions, etc...
but quintiles signify creative potential, or if not expressed, then it would be destructive...

Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 7:51 AMI have read that quintiles bestow a person with an ability to physically and creatively manifest things related to the planets, houses and signs involved. This is often good for artists, or people who work with materials or tangible things. It could also be a person who knows how to manipulate energy, possibly Tai Chi or Kung Fu.
I have an exact quintile involving the Sun conjunct the 3rd House cusp and Neptune conjunct the Ascendant. Supposedly this gives me an ability to manifest my impressions
artistically. A whopping number of famous classical music composers had strong Sun-Neptune aspects, and Neptune conjunct the Ascendant. I'm talking like 90% of all the major ones, and many that we don't even remember very well. Many of them were from the French Impressionist period, too.
In addition to my quintile I have Mercury sextile Neptune, which supposedly makes for excellent drummers in music. Well, I'm not a drummer I'm a keyboardist...but I think my storngest point with playing ina band is a very unique and creative sense of timing, where I kind of overlap my own rhythm on top of the rhythm the rest of the band is playing too...without actually playing out of time. It seems that mnay people can't exactly tell what I'm doing, but it sure seems to perk the crowd up when I'm able to manifest the best of thse aspects. I really enjoy music with Middle Eastern, Latin and African rhythms and rather ethereal-sounding voices or instrumentation.
I think my Aquarius Mercury sextile to Sagg Neptune gives me the ability to conceive of unique and complex additions to existing patterns...but perhaps my quintile allows me to manifest it.
So, I'll get off talking all about me for a moment ;-) but from my experience AND from what I've read, a quintile gives a strong hands-on ability to manifest certain talents and to creatively manfest energy into something physical.

Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 8:06 AMI also seem to have a loose (70.5 degree) quintile between Sun and Mars, and a loose (142.5 degree) bi-quintile between Mars and Neptune. This seems to fit in with a strong pattern I have involving Mercury-Neptune-Ascendant-Sun-Mars.
I wonder just what I was working on in my past-lives for this to show up! ;-)

Re: quintiles
Tue, November 20, 2007 - 1:57 PMWooowww!!!
I really need to use all my quintiles! I would be very happy to...
But, like all those other creative people before me, I don't need to understand what my quintiles stand for to be creative, right? All I need to do is get off the ground, and evolve from a serpent into a flying dragon, and tap into my creative nature... Then my quintile powers will show up...
Where did u get info about quintiles, FJ? You seem to know so much.
I could use some encouragement.
(Saturn's energies in my life are manifesting negatively, that's why I'm so interested in this.)

Mercury-Saturn to NNode, Venus to SNode.

Re: quintiles
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 12:45 PMthe biquintiles are a little confusing to me when you look at the quincunx aspect. i have read the quincunx is a difficult aspect because of the different element and mode the two aspecting planets are in. now on the other hand a read how the biquintile is a gift, signifies creativity, and is somewhat like the trine. the quincunx 150 & biquntile 144 are both in different elements and modes... just a few degrees separate & such different interpretations. definitely something to think about. an example is my venus is in 4th house 11 cap and moon is in 11th house 16 leo and my north node in in 4th house 16 cap. my moon is quincunx north node & biquintile venus. i also am thinking this 5 degree orb mentioned in some of the articles on links included in the post may be a bit of a wide orb since it would allow the biquintile and quincunx to overlap. -

Re: quintiles
Wed, November 21, 2007 - 1:52 PM5 degrees for quintiles alone does seem a bit esxcessive.
All the 5-series aspects will show up on a 5th harmonic chart, if you have a programme that can do that. The 5tzh harmonic chart, along with the aspects belonging o it that belong to the radix are supposed to show up creative talents, but obsessions too, it this chart is very strong. Robert Hand suggested provisionally that 5-series aspects can follow a series of creative-destructiveness, with things breaking down again before they can be resolved again. Robert Hand wrote that about 25 years ago, though.
Does this creative/destructive thing ring any bells? -

Wed, November 21, 2007 - 10:17 PMIn a way, I had got the sense that this creative-destructive thing to be more organic than a Plutonic process, more then sense that things have to adapt and change in order to move on. -

Re: quintiles
Thu, November 22, 2007 - 1:40 PMNatty
I gather it was more a question of an inbult mutability or instability with the fives-series aspects that gave rise to this creative/destructive equation, rather than any link to Pluto. But bear in mind that the nodes too have been said to denote obsessions. Maybe it is a question of the same name, but a different beast in each case.
The decile - 36 degrees - belongs to this series too, as does an 18 degree aspect. Quintiles show up as conjunctions in the 5th harmonic chart.
Very close aspects and aspect patterns in the 5th harmonic may indicate the drive to 'shape' and apply certain talents, depending on the aspects these involve. Here are a couple of tasters: Tesla has Sun-Pluto on his Ascendant in the 5th, closely square Uranus, Janis Joplin Jupiter-Neptune on the ascendant trine Uranus, right on the nodal axis.
Anyone here manged to download a 5th harmonic chart and had a look?
My closest aspects in he 5th harmonic are exact squares from Neptune to Saturn-Mercury, Asc conjunct Moon squaring a Pluto Midheaven conjunction. Apart from having a talent for losing keys, not sure what to make of that right now. -

Re: quintiles
Thu, November 22, 2007 - 5:23 PMnexxus i just took a look at my 5th harmonic chart and it's a little crazy looking. ok taking a deep breath and trying to write this down without total confusion...lol
I have 2 t-squares. The first one has uranus square jupiter & pluto which are in opposition to one another. The 2nd t-square has sun chiron conjunction square moon venus conjunction & square neptune midheaven conjunction which are opposite to one another. Now the 2 separate t-squares are connected by uranus trine sun chiron conjunction; pluto trine moon venus conjunction; jupiter trine neptune midheaven conjunction; jupiter sextile moon venus conjunction.
Now other aspects are north node & ascendant trine & both sextile to uranus. Other aspects are ascendant square moon venus conjunction; mercury trine neptune midheaven conjunction; mars opposite saturn. The mars opposite saturn is interesting since it touches nothing else in the 5th harmonic chart and in my natal chart is part of a kite pattern and is in exact conjunction to one another.
Wasn’t sure what kind of orb to use for a harmonic chart, so i tried to keep the orbs tight; most are around 2 degrees, but a few are around 5degrees or less. Definitely a crazy chart, my 7th harmonic chart and 9th harmonic are less chaotic. 7th harmonic has all planets forming one t-square and 9th harmonic has a kite pattern. what this all means is i am ovewhelmed and need some time to be able to digest and form some kind of ideas/opinions.
crazy lady,

Re: quintiles
Thu, November 22, 2007 - 10:10 PMThat does sound like a powerful 5th harmonic chart Natty, especially if the orbs are that tight. Do Sun and Moon aspect each other too?
Is there a desire to male a difference in the world somewhere throuhg certain abilities, maybe? -

I have an opposition between Sun and Moon in the 7th. A harmonic in which Sun and Mon make an aspect is supooosed to be one that could be more important for you in geing your whole act together. I have seen an orb of 3 degrees as theone given, though.
Still, all this is still relatively uncharted - no pun intended - territory. -

Re: quintiles
Sun, November 25, 2007 - 1:23 AMI do get the impression that the 5th harmonic shows where the desire might be to 'shape' an ideal, or a vision.
Once again, can I recomend the book by M,icheal Hardin and Charles Harvey? It reallyis an eye-opener onthe subject of both mipoints and hrmonics.
David Hamblin also wrote a book full of axamples and case studies.
