I just started Dan Browns newest book-The Lost Symbol and I find it very interesting that supposably D.C has the most astrological symbols out of any other city in the world...and that the capitol blg was specifically built on a certain date and time because of the moon's node in virgo...

Has anyone else researched this and actually seen symbols thru out the city? I really would like to get back there and explore!

There is lots of stuff on this, particularly when you start exploring its Freemasonry connection. The Jungian astrologer Janet Kane has done a lot of research on it. There is probably some stuff on her website. Just Google Janet Kane or Janet's Planets and take a look.

Of course I live in the DC area and have for almost 40 years now, and about all I can say is that the layout may be that way, but it has been built-up and altered. And damn if it looks like anything much resembling its plan from the ground when you are walking around. You see it from maps and blueprints, but I sure don't get it much from the ant's eye view.

I just finished Dan Brown's new book. There's another book (not a novel, but of course not a page-turner like Brown's books are) called "The Secrets in our Nation's Architecture," that explores this further. The founding fathers did indeed use astrology in building the capital. In 2007, at the NCGR conference, a tour of the astrological symbols in the DC architecture was conducted. Unfortunately, it was snowing that day, I'm from Florida and easily tired, so I didn't complete the tour. But it was fascinating nonetheless.

Something that I find interesting: On Sept. 11, 2001, you saw the destruction of the World Trade Center; the destruction of part of the Pentagon--but strangely, the plane headed for Washington (the capital? the White House? Who knows) wasn't able to complete its mission, due to the bravery of the people on board the flight. But perhaps the founding fathers built the architecture with the idea of making it as invincible as possible. And it worked.

There is a freemason's museum in Washington, DC also.
