Siblings and astrology

I have noticed that many times siblings share signs within the same element or at least similar elements. (water/earth or fire/air) Has anyone thought this coincidental or is there something to it?

I can corroborate this with everyone in my family: fire/air....

What does it mean when that one person doesn't follow the family pattern, though?
If it means something for the whole family to be following a pattern...there must be a corollary for the misfit...
  • I don't think it is coincidence. I am scorpio/pisces and my sister is pisces/scorpio. Both of us have saturn in cancer. There is an order in universe :-))))))))))

      Hi Electra!

Is everybody in your family watery(with pisces/scorpio emphasis) then? Or is it just your sister and you?
Just curious about how extensive this pattern might be..

        true

        me : sun/venus = leo
        brother : moon/jupiter = leo
        sister : sun/moon = leo

        me : moon = cancer
        brother : asc/mars = cancer

        me : mercury = virgo
        sister: mercury/venus = virgo

and even better... my mars is conjunct my brother's pluto
and my pluto is conjunct my sister's mars

so you know its better for us not to be in the same room for too long!!!

          Lets See....

My sister has her Sun Mercury and Saturn conjuct to my Moon... Her Capricorn Moon opposed to my Cancer Sun...

My Brother has his Moon conjuct to my Ascendant....

All 3 of us got Venus 2 signs away, with a 45 degree angle away from the Sun. So we are all most brillant phase Venuses.

My Mother, Brother, and Sister all have Mars in Libra
My Dad has Mars in Capricorn
          I got Mars in Cancer

My Sister has Pluto/Mars conjuct Asc.
My Brother has Pluto/Mars conjuct Dc.
I got Sun conjuct Mars Trine Pluto... But with the Sun and Mars in the 10th house, a cardinal house.

Then both my parents got Pluto conjuct MC

We all get along extremely well actually lol.... I got Uranus, Saturn, POF, South Node in 3rd
      • Just me and my sister. My mother is Aquarius sun/ leo moon (but she has mercury and venus in pisces, saturn in scorpio and uranus in cancer) and my father doesn't have a single water planet.

Seems that only the women have the majority of the planets in water...

Anyhow, my sister and I have completety different personalities with opposite ways of experiencing life. We rarely agree on anything EHEH. Now that I am thinking about this thread, it seems that we came into this family with a mission, because we also share the same north node. This is not a coincidence :-)))))
        • Unsu...

          Wow electra....same north node....

          oooo eee ooooo

What is the sign and house of that north node?
I'm thinking a lot about what you said about you and your sister coming into the family "with a mission"
          • I don't believe it is coincidence. It is funny because I never knew why we were always arguing about things! Now I know! This was a true enlightenment :-)))

Our north nodes are Saggitarius - quest for spiritual growth :-D

My sisters has the north node in 3rd house, trine with her venus in aquarius. Mine is in 7th house, conjuction venus in capricorn, trine mars in aries and opposition with saturn in cancer!

I am writing to her to tell her these things, because I am living in a different country away from home and we don't see each other much. Maybe we both can think about this and reach for some kind of broader understanding about life
            • A correction.. sister venus is in aries not in aquarius. It is funny. Because her venus is in aries and mars is in cap, and I have the opposite! Venus in cap and mars in aries LOL

:-D We never understood each other, thats for sure! LOL

It would be interesting to see if there is any correlation. You'd need a lot of data.
For myself, that doesn't apply. I'm the youngest of six and all my siblings are water and earth...I'm an air sign. I have no water in my chart. Hardly any earth.

    Peace, Bo

Same here Bo... I grew up with 4 fire signs... and I am All Water and Earth.... with only one planet in AIr and Fire....

You are what is called de Karmic baby to teach everyone else... Im the youngest one too...

All my aunts and uncles are Air/Fire signs.... Topped off with being all blue eyed... I was the only one that didnt come out with the blue eyes ... Bastards lol....
      • Unsu...

none of my sisters do astrology .
        • Me: Virgo sun, Cancer moon, Capricorn rising, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Scorpio, Mars in Cancer

Sister: Leo sun, Virgo moon, Gemini rising, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Leo

Brother: Leo sun, Leo moon, Taurus rising, Mercury in Leo, Venus in Cancer, Mars in Virgo

Mom: Virgo sun, Taurus moon, Libra rising, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Leo, Mars in Virgo

Dad: Libra sun, Aries moon, Taurus rising, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Gemini
          • Unsu...

            Hey Deb!

Would you say that you feel an "earthy vibe" in your family at all?
            • Yeah, for the most part earth, fire, and air. I have the "mother lode" of water in my chart! LOL! I have 5 planets in water, 3 in earth, and 2 in air, but NO FIRE. My dad has NO WATER. Needless to say he was always trying to "toughen me up," emotionally. LOL! I was and am such an odd creature to him. My mom has only Jupiter in Cancer. My sister has only Neptune in Scorpio, and my brother has both Venus in Cancer and Neptune in Scorpio, but I was the "water baby" in the family.
              • Unsu...

I too, was the water baby...

I wonder if they related to your emotions the same way that they did to mine...
If I am right in thinking that earth is more compatible with water than fire and air are...
                • Yeah, my sister and mom have earth moons, and we get along much better emotionally. Mostly they sit by quietly and sympathize while I blubber! Hahahaha! My dad and brother have fire moons and they are a little more uncomfortable with emotional displays. My brother is more sympathetic with me because he has his Venus in Cancer. My dad "allows" me to cry but becomes agitated and leaves the room until I can pull myself together.
    • Unsu...

      Same here too Bo...

      all air/fire (almost all libra/leo)
      me water

Allan...what do you mean in more detail about the kharmic teacher of the family or w/e ?
If you don't mind explaining it a little more...

Would the part of fortune have anything to do with being a karmic teacher at all? I have read some places where it was called a person's Dharma...but I don't 100% trust/know the source I got that from...so maybe others can chime in with what they know about the part of fortune and/or dharma...I bet someone here knows...
      • Unsu...

I am always hanging out with people that have the other extreme polarity, Air and Fire. There is a lot in common between both groups of extremes, as we don't limit ourselves towards GENDER. We don't function on the gender scale Yin/Yang, as most of us would have intergraded charts that get along with most. (think of a person who is all water/earth or air/fire and where their midpoints are at) We would be more so on the order/disorder… serious/humor scale. To even have a yin/yang connection... there would have to be Water/Earth Vs. Air/Fire

If I was to take a magnet... and tried to put both the S polarty together, they would be repulsed towards eachothers, but if I put the S towards the N, they would be magnetized towards eachothers.

We tend to attract what we most lack and that is the true meaning behind the word balance.
        • Unsu...

That's very interesting, Allan. I've never thought of it that way.
I think there might be something to that in my case. Just going by signs, I tend to be around a lot of Capricorns and Scorpios. I'm really close with my two Scorpio sisters. I get along with a lot of Capricorn people. And I'm mostly Aquarius/Sagittarius (tropically speaking).

          Peace, Bo
    • This doesn't really apply for my family. My brother and I share all of our outer planets because we are very close in age, but as far as the inner planets go, no strong correlation.
Me: Taurus sun and Venus, Libra ascendant and moon, Aries Mercury, Mars in Leo, Jupiter in Cancer
Bro: Sagittarius Sun, Scorpio moon, Virgo ascendant, Mercury in Capricorn, Venus in Aquarius, Mars in Sagittarius, and Jupiter in Taurus
I have nothing in Capricorn, Virgo, or Aquarius. He has nothing in Aries, Libra, Leo, or Cancer.
The one thing we have in common is an utter lack of anything Pisces or Gemini.
As for my mom and her brothers: she is a Virgo, and her brothers include one Scorpio, one Libra, and one Gemini.
  • My entire family are all cancers except me. taurus. But i have a cancer moon. it's strange
    • Unsu...

      Hey Lindsey!

I was curious...with all that cancer...do you all seem real attached to each other as a family? Does it seem like you are real close-knit or not so much?
      • Erin- Def very attatched family with the cancer. My parents would do anything for me and my sis. I have moved across country twice and always find myself back home. My whole family are emotional criers. Even dad. My parents have been together for soo long also, high school sweethearts. They have great chemistry. Except my dad has mini mid life crisis' every couple of years.
        Dad- sun- cancer
        moon- aries
        venus- virgo
        mars- gem
        mom- sun- cancer
        moon- virgo
        venus- gem
        mars- gem
        sis- sun- cancer
        moon- aqua
        venus- gem
        mars- aries
        me- sun- taurus
        moon- cancer
        venus- cancer
        mars- gem

My family is a bit all over the place. Here's teh Sun - Moon - Ascendant layout:

Mom: Taurus – Pisces – Cancer
Brother: Aries – Aries – Virgo
Brother: Gemini – Pisces – Gemini
Sister: Pisces – Virgo – Virgo
Sister: Pisces – Scorpio – Cancer
Brother: Aries – Virgo – Virgo
Me: Aries – Virgo – Virgo

Interestingly enough, father figures weren't really around for us siblings. The all-water sister has been the most "outcast" from the family for the longest time and still gets a lot of cr*p from mom and the other siblings, although I'm working hard to help everyone welcome her back in, as I think her total emotional nature could really help soften the rest of us in ways we avoid like the plague.

      Hi Shane...

hmmm...makes me curious about what the father might have been...
Why is it that I can't help but suspect it might be something with virgo hmmm....
      • Unsu...

Erin - good question. The first four siblings each have the same father, but us last two have a different father than them. I'm trying to find out what their father's info is, but all I know of mine offhand is he was a Cancer Sun and (oddly enough) Aquarian Moon.

This thread brings up such an interesting dynamic and gets me thinking about an article I read many months ago about the "Family Curse" and what pattern(s) recurrs in a family dynamic until it is/they are healed completely.
    • Shane, your poor "emotional" sister has the "bad moon a-rising" with the Scorpio moon placement. Perhaps she is the "outcast" because she takes emotion to the depths where they can be transformed. In spite of her ability to feel on this level, she cannot express herself outwardly, bringing suspicion from others who encounter her intimately, (namely, your family). The good news is that she has the abiltiy to endure the rejection, however painful, and still come back and be a catalyst for healing if they will accept her at some point. I feel for her as I'm sure that this has been a very painful and lonely life for her thus far. I hope she finds forgiveness and can open up enough at some point to let her family in, (probably one at a time), to let the bonds be healed as that is what she has to offer. Thanks for sharing your story.

    lindsey;

About a month ago there was a thread on this tribe that asked a similar question.
Which sign has the most people in it.

    Well turns out;
The highest is Cancer, the lowest Aquarius. and Capricorn is the second lowest population.
Turns out birth rates have to do with the weather, cold nights turn people on.

The drop off in births begins with Sagittarius thru Pieces

Warm weather seems is just to hot to have sex for some people.
So the fact that in a family you have siblings born in the same months a year a part,
is no coincidence,,, it's the weather.

    dad: sun cap/moon pisces
    mum: sun pisces/moon leo
    me: sun gemini/moon aries
    sis 1: sun aries/moon gemini
    sis 2: sun leo/moon pisces

one might think the energies are more or less harmonious here. au contraire!

air + fire + water = steam cooker
      until either:
      water burned off/blown away-evaporated

      or

      fire gets squelched

in this case neither is so easy to do looks like
