Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 6:17 AMmissguided,
hey i am libra rising too ,so saturn is hanging out in my 12th house at the moment. I am not sure of what the experience of saturn is here for me. I have been more to myself and not very social the past several months. I also have had some major health concerns, which really sticks out for me since i am never sick (havent even had a cold the past decade.)... but transiting uranus in the 6th, transiting neptune in the 5th was opposing my natal moon for a bit (neptune ruler of my 6th house), and my jupiter return (this past december) i think are all involved in this experience.
... if i were you i wouldnt be too anxious about saturn. when transiting saturn conjuncts your 12th house mercury pluto conjunction it will be trining your natal saturn :-) ... transiting uranus in your 6th house opposite your natal mercury pluto conjunction more jumps out at me... as well as the idea that when transiting saturn conjuncts your natal uranus it will oppose your vertex... but i say no worries, hell it seems you have recently made it through transiting pluto square natal pluto :-) -

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 6:33 AMi am curious as to what peoples interp is about the saturn pluto conjunction in general... i mean pluto is the slower moving body, so is it pluto that has an impact on saturn? how do you interp this aspect in virgo? or libra where saturn is exalted? -

Do you mean natally? Or by transit?

Re: saturn transiting 12th

And if you mean by transit, do you mean transiting pluto to natal saturn, or transiting saturn to natal pluto?

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 8:29 AMThankyou for your consideration Makaranda...
approx how long ago would that tr PL sq
natal PL have happened ?
do you know a good link for transit interpretations...or are they all the same as
far as aspects go, regardless of being natal or transiting?
Hope you are feeling really well soon...
with a new appreciation of your good health...; ) -

I missed this Makaranda, good observation!
It would have been a couple of years ago, 2006/7ish. Check out an ephemeris as it probably retrograded fora bit. Your Pluto is 26d Virgo, it's currently around 3d Cap, so when it was 26d Sag it would be square. Most people only use a degree or two either side for a Pluto transit (I think) which will span a few months anyway, and if it retrogrades could span a year or so. Check an ephemeris to be exact. -

I dont know how to look for that though...

Thankyou again... -

Ok just checked it out for you on astro.com, Pluto was square in 2006 and 2007.
You can check the ephemeris here:

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 2:52 AMsaturn transitted through my 12th house already and it was only stressful to the degree I persisted in avoiding what I had been repressing for the previous ten or more years. for me, this amounted to the unleashing of volcanic forces of passion, power and sexuality (my 12th house is entirely ruled by Scorpio and has my Sun there, too). i remember stumbling into a powerful tantric ritual involving planetary (earth) energies linking me to a series of powerful women. this ritual is posted at: deoxy.org/geoman.htm#ar
this proved to be an important period of introspection, social withdrawal and soul-searching for me. it marked a kind of limbo bardo era of being in between lives, where the old life had not entirely died yet and the new one had not yet been born. i remember feeling like a chrysallis waking up inside a slowly cracking cocoon.
i recall this as a time when i found myself commiting to more immaterial and internally-oriented values. i felt almost invisible compared to my previous seven years when i was writing and directing stage plays and more in the public eye. during this transit, i was also exploring my psychic abilities and writing a book. -

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 4:39 AMThanks for sharing your experience Sherpa...
I appreciate your diplomacy...I think thats what I mean..fairness..no feeling
of judgement...My libra rising really holds that attitude dear...
I will endeavour to read the link you provided..
actually, around the solstice when it just entered the 12th
last year...I had some extremely sexual energy rising as well...
but, being that I was not in love with anybody...
I had some amazing meditations..
really potent kundalini...IMO
I could actually feel the energy swirling through gradually ascending the chakras...
it was so intense i was meditating a couple of times a day for weeks!!!
Took meditation and going inward to a whole new level for me...
unfortunately...that was a passing phase...

there is no link.

I think if you approach the transit with an attitude of fear and stress, then you will get fear and stress. Saturn does not mean 'storm cloud over your head'. All saturn does at its most fundamental is apply a pressure to focus and restrict and make 'real'. These things are not necessarily bad things.
It seems like these transits will bring about a dose of transformation in your thinking which may not be a bad thing. Bare in mind that Saturn will also be making the same aspect to Pluto and Uranus to everyone of your generation. It is not unique necessarily to you. The transit will affect a generation. You've had Saturn transits for a while now, so it seems that it will be a bit more of the same. Certainly won't be as hard as it was when it conjuct your Moon (which is part of a T-Square to your natal Saturn).

You have not yet experienced Saturn transiting through your 12th House yet, have you ? -

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 3:30 AM"You have not yet experienced Saturn transiting through your 12th House yet, have you ? "
No but I have experienced it transiting my 8th and have had it make squares and oppositions to my Neptune, I was presuming it wasn't too dissimilar from the 8th H. Am I making a premature assumption there? I dont' really think that worrying about a transit will help anyone though, regardless of the house. Saturn can always be beneficial regardless of where it is. I take the point that you probably have less 'conscious'ness of it when it transits the 12H but surely with a natal mercury in that House anyway this will be less 'hidden'. -

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 9:21 PMYeah well just wait till the ole grim planet gets to your 12th..LOL. I'm a Pisces with a Leo 12th house. I am consciously aware of the articles I have in my subconscious storage. Yet Saturn was still able to bash me over the head about the few skulls and such that were trapped in their little corner. Guess it wanted to pull every article out and, EVER SO SLOOOOWWWWLY, examine each each and ask me if I truly really for true true did know just what each was and what each was for and what memories (IE: PAIN, issues, problems) were tied to each and if I wanted to keep each and how each could add or take away from my life.
Of course having Uranus opposing Saturn during this transit sucks royally. It made me wonder if the whole process was even necessary, ("perhaps maybe I could just forget organizing the storage space and move on to the present/FUTURE?"). But Saturn was like the nagging spouse telling me no, I couldn't and neither planet would allow me to just throw all of those interesting nick knacks away. And so, therefore, I sat for a while doing nothing. I felt like I was sitting on the couch watching the TV show of my life but it was on pause and in the background I could hear Saturn and Uranus screaming at me to do something. Every once in a while they take turns coming in the room to berate me to death.
Saturn reminds me of the old biblical story of Job. Seems like everything was going okay for Job, he had no real problems with his life and he, in fact, was God's most loyal and enamored fan. But the devil, with the consent of God, came around and tested him. And did he break? No. So actually God was trying to fix something that wasn't broken. Sure in the end Job, God and the devil, and everyone else around him (his friends and the few family members that were not killed off) truly knew his love for God was real, but then again WASN'T IT IN THE BEGINNING???!!
Feel like the Saturn transits I've gone through the last 8 months or so and I'm still going through have turned upside down something just to see if it was as important to me as I've always known it was. Well it is still as important Saturn. I guess there's the whole "what doesn't kill you..." idiom and yeah but it could scar you and take you down one horrible nightmare that hurts like hell for seemingly no reason. AND WORSE?? It creates more psychological 12th house shit for you to sort out!! I mean, Job may have gotten just as many kids back but the pain from losing everything didn't instantly go away with these "replacements".

I have been here for years. No change.
Job had to have some serious 12th House issues, if you ask me. I ought to know. -

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 9:39 PMWhat do you mean by no change? You mean your life has been stagnant?
Yeah sometimes its like both planets were screaming at the same time. Hard enough for me to interpret two people screaming at once. All or nothing Mars in Scorpio 3rd house was like ummmmm how am I going to do anything??
I think Job had a major transit. Cus before the devil came around he was doing VEEEEEERRRRRRRYYYYY well. And afterwards he was too. I think natally he had a Jupiter-Mars-Venus-Sun conjunction in his First house or something crazy lucky like that.

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 4:33 AMyoure right.
Life is guaranteed to be hard at times and its really
not worth stressing before the pressure hits at times..
therefore, I am not worried...
Its more an issue of...
will the coming 1st house bring my
daughter back into my care...
..so, fear and stress have been pretty much a part of
life for me the past 13 yrs...whats new..
but..on a brighter note...the opposite has balanced it
too...
Ive had to experience darkness to appreciate the light...

Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 8:41 AMHi MissGuided, don't worry, I have had any planet transiting my 12th and still am very much alive.
I did not experience saturn transiting the 12th as particularly difficult or hard. During that time I was in between vocations. I quit a carreer in journalism because I no longer could subscribe the work ethics - but i did not have a clue as to what other vocation I would choose. I was very much aware of my saturn in 12, so I knew I had to be patient and just make the best of it - if not enjoy it. So I moved to another country that had always intrigued me and started a new life from scratch doing odd jobs - that felt like a nice challenge. I lived from day to day, with just a few astrology books and some clothes, moved on to yet another country & place that had always intrigued me, was not very much attached to anything in particular and in fact... I was very happy. If not extremely happy. My life was light as a breeze, even with several pluto & neptune transits going on (I have no planets in the 12th though). During one of my odd job work days, my co-workers told me they were convinced I was a psychiatrist in disguise. Because I seemed to know everything about them (I'm psychic). Suddenly it hit me: of course... I could become a shrink! So I moved to yet another country and took up studies at university. Then saturn reached my 1st, which I could use very well to get the self discipline in order to finish my studies.
Apart from that, saturn conjunct mercury just brings me speed tickets and new well paid jobs, so I don't worry about that either.
And while Saturn conjuncted my pluto I had the guts to finally walk away from a professional partnership that had outlived it's goals. It left me with a new world of possibilities - not so bad either, I'd say.
So like i said MissGuided: don't worry :-) -
-
Re: saturn transiting 12th
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 9:19 AMso...are you a psychiatrist?? a psychic one at that??
what a beautifully transient time you've described...
talk about epitomising "go with the flow"
wonderful...
Im so grateful to think a new cycle is being heralded....
hmmm...the only way out is through...
has taken me much to realize this fact...
tried being a houdini for a while...
there is no escaping...
else there'd be no learning, huh?
Thankyou Unsubconscious = ) -

making dreams come true
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 10:13 AMActually, MissGuided, the 12th is the house of Neptune and since neptune is about dreams and saturn about reality, saturn transiting the 12th is an excellent time to turn your dreams into reality. Actually that was what I did in the first place when saturn hit my 12th. I simply choose to live the life I had always dreamed about. I figured I had nothing left to loose anyway (Janis Joplin told me that freedom was just another way of nothing left to loose and she still is so damned right - it's bloody gouvernement that forces us all to have that carreer so we can be meek and pay taxes...)
Euhm, this will be a good time as well to pick up anything artistic - in fact I had several artistic outlets during this transit and also my psychic abilities were hightened.
Please enjoy yourself because saturn in the 1st will be mainly hard work (and tangible results, so don't worry either)!
PS: I turned out to be an ordinairy psychotherapist, not a psychiatrist. It's just what I do best, that's all. -
