Scorpio Rising suits me. It actually suits with the male just as much as the female. Mine is Cancer Rising and I don't relate at all. I looked at composite chart of my ex boyfriend and myself and the rising planet was Aries. Aries female fits me, not Cancer in this instance. This is probably b/c I have Venus and Mars in Aries.

When did Linda die. I made a pligramage up to the town where she lived in Colorado when I was in highschool and they said she was very sick with Cancer, but I didn't hear anything about her passing away she was one of the most brilliant astrologers I've ever encountered. I've bought her books several times only to have them "walk away" trust me I was mega pissed when my edition of Love Signs walked away. I begged for that book as a tennager for months and ended up getting it as a birthday gift.

Thanks, Mina, I can see a few reasons why you would be drawn to water signs, in spite of you being so fiery yourself. The number one reason is that you have Venus in Pisces in the 5th house. Venus is what a person values, what you want to attract to you, while the 5th house is (among other things) the house of lovers and love affairs. Your Venus is also trine Jupiter in Cancer, which amplifies the watery nature. You have Mercury in Pisces, so there is an instinct feeling that you can communicate with water sign people. And Pluto in the 12th house shows that you want something much deeper in your life than any casual relationship could give you. Normally, for a woman with Sun and Mars in Aries, I wouldn't see the need intense for depth, and emotional contact, that you have. However, their are further extenuating circumstances. Your Moon in Sagittarius is square Saturn. The Moon is one of the chief factors showing how we express our feelings and emotions, and with Saturn here, you have a great need to feel, but your own inner parent keeps trying to tell you...there's a time and a place for that; it is always putting the brakes on, and so you are searching for a way to get in touch with your feelings, and to express them safely. Mars quincunx Saturn further complicates this. Mina, you must have had a pretty strong parental influence of some kind, because there is a great need inside you to break out, but a feeling that it is wrong, or that you just shouldn't..... You don't have to only have relationships with water sign people...with Moon in Sag, Sun and Mars in Aries, an air sign would be great for you...BUT only one that didn't aggravate your internal conflict. You need someone who has some water in their chart, so the two of you can connect on that level....but who also has strong air to compliment your strong fire. With that Moon square Saturn in mutable, Gemini would not be a good choice...(well, I guess I lost out here!)....but you may find a Libran with good water signs in the chart to be good for you. Many people are, Marion, but it is not a universal. Like anything in astrology, so much depends upon the whole chart. I have Pisces rising. My ex-wife is a Pisces, and so are two of my other ex-girlfriends. But I've had relationships with more Aquarians (5) than any other sign....and I have no planets or angles in Aquarius. I've dated almost as many Sagittarians (4), and my Moon is in Sagittarius. With each of the women who had their Sun on my Rising Sign, I felt early on a kindred spirit, and I understand, they felt the same. Birth certificate times are usually close, but not always exact. Sometimes, the nurse looks at the clock the first minute she has free, which could be several minutes after the birth. Still, it is close enough that your ascendant should still be the same, even if the above were true.

Well I have always considered my neptune as rising--although it is in the 12th. Reading all rising, male and female, just now, I would say I am much more like the Scorpio male minus a few attributes and that a Pisces rising female most resembles me. OK, Traci, there are several things that jump out from your chart. First of all, you have Neptune conjunct the Ascendant. Anything in conjunction with the Ascendant modifies the description, and even though Neptune is in the 12th, it is still a strong influence. Second....your Neptune is opposition to your Moon in Taurus. So that makes your Neptune doubly significant an influence. Third, Scorpio is ruled in part by Mars; Taurus (your 7th house) is ruled by Venus...and you were born with a strong Venus/Mars/Sun conjunction in Capricorn. So much of the Mars quality of your Scorpio Ascendant is modified by both the Venus, and the Sun. And fourth, Uranus is conjunct the MC. Uranus is so strong in your chart that you'd be contrary just for the sake of being contrary. LOL I'm not surprised that you don't see a lot of yourself in the Scorpio rising.

Well, Traci, there are several possible explanations: 1. Some of your chart is much more dominant in relationships than your Asc/Desc 2. Less likely, but it is possible that you are not seeing yourself objectively 3. Another possibility is that your time is off and you don't have Scorp rising. Of the three, I would say #1 is the most likely, but I would have to see your chart first.

So it will have something to do with the initial responses of the people you are attracted to. Try to get a copy of that book, Zane. I know for sure you will love it! I bought it in my 20's...it's all ragged and torn now. I looked up every guy I dated in that book...LOL! It's great at parties too because you don't need the entire chart to look up the sun/moon descriptions...just the day month and year of birth. I remember showing it to my husband the first time we hung out (I met him when he moved into my apartment building) and he was like "wow, this is pretty accurate"...it said that he could have come from a family involved in politics (he does) and that he might seek a career in public relations (he has) or communications (his bachelors degree). Occasionally, the readings are totally OFF though...but, it's pretty amazing for a book that is only going by the sun and moon.

This is by Caroline Reynolds. It is in the book "The book of Lovers" which is awesome, giving sun and moon combination descriptions for both male and female. That is the book that first sold me on astrology. It is also printed in Linda Goodman's "love signs" which was unfinished when she died, so I guess they used caroline reynolds descriptions. The Linda Goodman book is a great one for synastry.

I saw this on two other tribes....thought since it is circulating, I'd share it here too. Don't know the author though. Aries Rising in Love Male Aries wants to be the leader, he wants to be in charge. He will say he wants complete honesty, but often this is more of a ploy to get what he wants.
