I was reading this article about the fixed stars and I thought it was really intereting. I hardly take into consideration asteroids and things like that but the more I learn about astrology the more I learn that there is more out there that effects us besides planets. Now fixed stars are my new interest (along with midpoints) and I'm wondering if ayone has anything to say about them or if you take them into consideration when reading your chart.
Here is the link to the article:

You may want to take note of the degree and sign of the star then go to astro.com to figure out which house they are in.

Re: Fixed stars they effect us? Regulus
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 9:59 AMI have the sun at 29.35 Leo in my chart, would that be considered conjunct Regulus? If so, does anyone have any info regarding this? I don't know very much about Regulus, is there something siginificant about it? Also fyi, these are in the 12th House.
Thank you : )

Re: Fixed stars they effect us? Regulus
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 11:31 AMMelody,
The article talks about the star but I'll see if I can find more info:
"Regulas is at 29 degrees of Leo and his meaning is one of fame, success, honor, and wealth. He corresponds to the Archangel Raphael, and his placement in your chart shows you where you can expect to succeed and accomplish all your goals. In a prominent part of your chart, conjunct to your first house of self or your tenth house of career, it can show great fame coming to you through your professional life. "

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 10:39 AMWhat exactly is a "Fixed Star"?
Which are qualified as "fixed", and how do they differ from "moving, unfixed, whatever" stars? -
-
Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 11:33 AMA fixed star is a star that does not appear to move like the other stars. It says in the same degree for, I believe, thousands of years. Fixed stars are significant when they are in a house of in aspect to planets in the chart but the sign does not matter so much seeing as how it never changes. -
-
Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 1:08 PMstars change degree every seventy years -that is what I thought . -
-
Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 1:12 PMThe name fixed star came about because "planets" -wondering stars and the others were within the same design plus fixed stars can be in different constellations -its kind of hard for me to get my head wrapped around it. Eternal stories have been spoken about them throughout as long as our species has been around. -

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 2:41 PMI'm kind of knew on the subject of fixed stars but that's kind of the point. They don't change. They are different from other stars becuase they stay in the sme degree generation after generation.

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 7:16 PMWhy is I always have to be the spoiler?
A fixed star is any star other than the Sun. ALL the stars are "fixed" , with the exception related to precession, which affects all to the same degree. One of the only stars with proper motion is Barnards Star, with a motion of about ten arc seconds per year.
Those used in Astrology are of particular brilliance, color, or (Sirius, for example) rise at particular seasonal benchmarks.

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 12:26 AMHi Simone - Thanks for this post...it is very new and interesting to me. Upon your link I learned that I have Antares Directly conjunct my ASC and, well, have to concur that there is ...some... air of relevance there. I also have Alderbaran... Directly... conjunct my Decendant. Hard for me to understand the honor and courage reference to this aspect though. Any help/ideas here?

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Fri, July 11, 2008 - 2:48 PMThe stars are traveling at high speed and not at all in one direction. Vivian Robson or somebody gave this strange name, perhaps the Greek? The stars are angels, AGGELOC 0N -EN, Aggelos thon Theon, 360 are the heads or classified theurgic entities. None of them are known to astrologers, perhaps Spica Virginis, is known but they misplace it. e.g Spica is Asbolus or Elipinon, the marshal of the matrix. One needs the initiation into the second tarot atout (40 years of work) to absorb the works of major European astyroologers Steinar, Dupor and Barton.

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Sun, July 13, 2008 - 5:06 PMStars are active by direction, e.g. some guy Nietche I guess fell under the horse at age say 46 by angular projection of Algol. This universe ends with Eris Algol conjunction in Perseus.

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Sun, July 13, 2008 - 5:20 PMThey seem fixed, but are not.
They all have their own particular trajectories,
and we on earth, by Precession, see them "move",
of one degree about every 72 years...
Everything affects us, obviously. -
-
Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Mon, July 14, 2008 - 7:53 AMAh yes they move. But as you stated the movement (to us) is so slow that we can assume they are fixed for mow anyways. I don't think that they are as great of influence as teh planets though. -
-
Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Mon, July 14, 2008 - 2:15 PMObviously of lesser influence, yet
gaze at the night sky in awe & wonder
if those outer planets are that much bigger!
Btw. I've this book on the fixed planets printer by Dover Press,
rather nice & in depth, w/ mythology, history...
I think it's called Star Names.
"If you wish upon a star..."
laadeedah (etc... ; )

..free parans report...pretty interesting
• Look at the paran printout to find what stars are in paran to the planets
involved in your natal aspect.
• Consider the star/planet meaning on the printout and link that to what
you consider is the expression of that natal aspect in your life.
here is a clip from mine as an example:(for some reason it spaced out the letters funny when i copied it)

Re: Fixed stars they effect us?
Mon, July 14, 2008 - 4:13 PMWhy, of course. The closer to ecliptic the more precise the direction. Spica is reliable, Regulus, the LBPR stars for the epoch, e.g. Fomalhaut, also slanted by evil things like Algol in primary. Alphard is also evil. The most evil is Alpha of Serpens Cauda, the ascendant of Italy. U.S.A. has no big stars ascending in a wide area between Ophiuchus/Serpens /Aquila
Start with the cadinal ritual stars, e.g. Antares, ... and proceed towards the zenith stars that never set. -
