Well, I actually have Sun TRINE Pluto as a natal aspect. But I also have Sun square Moon. I have definitely accessed the energies of a Sun square Pluto aspect recently (or maybe it was in transit I don't remember). I just went through a solid 7 years of very deep dark, EVIL phase of my life and I have recently began to see the light and make small improvements in my life. The positive practical energy in my life is being met with an extreme lack of emotional security (Moon) and paranoia, fear (Pluto). I mean double checking locks, worrying about someone breaking into my apartment, my car blowing up you name it I am so afraid of the cosmic rug being pulled out from under me and turning into a big control freak as a result!

Recently I have been trying cope with this by grabbing ahold of this energy. Focusing a lot of my effort into fixing my life situation, my career, and where I see myself in life. I think thats my Sun trine Pluto pushing me past the fears I have and into action. I believe I read somewhere that squares to personal planets are internal issues being manifested externally.

I have a few another squares, Venus square Mars, Jupiter. Mercury square Mars, Pluto. In addition to my Sun square Moon.

Focusing all of my frustration and will into a practical area of my life...and I'm not exaggerating when I do mean ALL of it...has been the only thing that has kept these squares in check.

Anyway, a slight variance of aspect (the energy of squares supposedly can be transformed into trines with personal effort), but that's my experience.

I have Sun conjunct Pluto natally, which is similar although obviously not the same.

I think it adds an intensity to the person. Discussing surface issues are not enough. You really want to get to the bottom of an issue or a problem. Some say this combination , similar to a Scorpio , can make good detectives or investigators as they wish to delve to the core of an issue.

Also Sun Pluto can mean a person can effectively go through many transformations in their lives not all of them easy or pleasant. They do however have a great ability to survive and move on to the next phase of their lives.

always very important to post a link for us to SEE your chart

I notice this pluto AND saturn are both singleton planets, ie: only planets in air and water elements

For me this aspect can show problems relating to father and/or authority figures. I also agree that it deepens the personality, but how deep, it will modify your sun sign dramatically to express more like scorpio traits and we all know scorpio wants *control* more than anything else

Pluto in 1st House – angular
Tends to be a loner and hold innermost self aloof from those around. Penetrating gaze. Person power and will is indicated. Much more below the surface than is shown above. Very private person – holds secrets. Tunnel vision when concentrating will always finish things.
Usually deep penetrating eyes. Intensity comes over even when being silent. A marvelous sense of purpose is generally present, and must be expressed and fulfilled otherwise an inner seething and sense of dissatisfaction may be the result. If Pluto is afflicted and could cause deep rooted psychological problems that can emerge as physical ailments. The nearer Pluto lies to the Ascending degree, the stronger its influence will be. The planet's influence will darken the personality, adding an incisive and deep, emotionally intense quality.

now sun quincunx neptune shows another facet of your personality

Sun quincunx neptune
“shows that you consider your responsibilities the most pressing in the world. There is an element of self sacrifice. You really believe people who suggest that only you can solve their problems. Because of this martyr quality, you seek the most demanding jobs or human situations in order to test your commitment to service. Unsure of yourself you continually try to find ways to prove your competence, but deplete your own energies.Professional success will be difficult to achieve because of your preoccupation with endless trivia. Exaggerating the importance of superficial matters, you tend to get bogged down by them.”
From the book ‘Aspects and Personality’ by Karen Hamaker-Zondag

Sun Quincunx Neptune
“Your energy tends to be directed unrealistically. Your own sense of self changes as you learn from your own misappraisals of situations that are important to you. If you feel drained or frustrated it is always helpful to look at your overall direction in life and determine if you have taken on more through your high ideals than your physical vitality can sustain. It is always worthwhile to see how your ideas are received by others, to see if you can involve them in your vision. When you can't, avoid trying to do everything yourself. Slow down”

We're close to covering all the Sun-Pluto aspects except the square now, but I have Sun OPPOSITE Pluto. Ha.

This group has had a lot of discussions of various Sun-Pluto aspects:

tribes.tribe.net/e87c46df-...82102ede18

Some ways my Sun-Pluto opposition might be showing up:
I have frequent self-destructive urges (not acted upon generally), a desire to control my world via tightly controlling the expression of myself (which I think is related to both my Sun-Pluto opposition and Saturn opposing my Asc.), a fear of major transformations that need to happen (and which tend to come up as external events, bc of the aspect being an opposition), frequent feelings of powerlessness (observing the Plutonian power in the other/external world, rather than in the self, which is perceived as not having power), and I'm very in touch with my dark side but I'm terrified of publicly acknowledging or expressing it.
