Yes the big MONEY and MATERIALISM question (i am sure someone will pull me up on the conceptual differences between the two...)... what are the indicators in a chart? how do they manifest for you? AND...if there are indicators of wealth in the chart (through career/job versus 8th house- "other people") how do you work out how long it will take for this wealth to manifest or start growing?? Also what is the relationship btw the 6th house/2nd house and 10th house in terms of financial wealth...
My story (short version): Am 31, still broke. Career seeeems to be developing but given i am in research and stilll technically a student, this does not coincide with financial wealth. i seem to be accumulating debt (although not too much). I am very financially dependent on my partner, who is very generous and we are comfortable but I would like my own earnings to contribute financially and to have choices etc... money has never been a priority for me but the time has come where i am feeling the brunt of not being in control of my financial situation. looking for an end or a brighter personal financial future. will it come through career?
Very interested in hearing stories from others who have turned their financial situation around over their lifetime and how this relates to their natal or transits. more interested in personal effort than windfalls (which seems more attributable to fate or luck rather than ones own personal power...you know what i mean)
Must have already read it I suppose?
I have saturn in my eighth house in Sag, trine Ascendant in Aries 1st house. Venus Scorpio on Cusp of 7th and 8th house and Capricorn Mars sits in my 10th house. Any insight on this one. It seems I can attract it but how?
oh and Venus trines Jupiter and Jupiter sits in the 12 house Pisces...
Sarah, when discussing money we look to the money houses ie: 2nd how YOU earn and spend your money, self worth, self esteem etc. 8th house is *other people's money* joint finances, whether with spouse, employer or state. Quite often money is tied in with career and we see here your MC is Virgo ruled by mercury, but mercury here is afflicted by aspects, square to mars I(poss bit argumentativeness) and mercury square pluto, which would make you a good researcher or detective for digging and delving.
Next we look at dispositorships, So mercury rules Virgo MC, mercury in cancer is disposited by moon, moon is deposited by by Aquarius and here we see uranus placed in 12th house
next we see uranus disposited by Pluto and pluto is in 11th house of large organisations, pluto is disposited by venus in gemini and this is ruled by Mercury...... so back to mercury in 8th house. So what doees this all mean? how to bring all this together.
Last in last the end stop was mercury as it created a loop. Can you see this? so mercury/communications must feature prominently in work/career/vocation. Next it's placed in cancer, the sign of family. Now 8th house is joint finances, sex, insurance, inheritances etc. Now connect this to family. This could make a good counsellor, empath, sext therapist, banker, financier
Venus in gemini is afflicted by neptune opposition, this shows unrealistic expectations in romance and finances and has an exact square to saturn, showing you may have to work hard for no major recompense. this last aspect holds feelings of being unloved in early chldhood, slow cautious responses..Venus is conj 8th house cusp and should be interpreted there as it's within 5' rule...
virog is ALL about details, has links to service industry and health matters. your MC also receives a square from neptune in late first house.
The square creates tension, problems in expression to MC/career it also bring in the arts, music etc.
Neptune in Square, Quincunx, Opposition to Midheaven
"Without a firm sense of who you are and where you're headed, you may be subject to more than your share of downtime career-wise. You may find yourself a target for deceptive career schemes and false promises. Some of this can be avoided by getting into some serious career counseling and making whatever effort necessary to become knowledgeable in your chosen field. Your biggest challenge may be to avoid getting sidetracked by doubts about your choices. You don't have to compromise your search for your ideal life's work. You'll just have to make some focused efforts in order to achieve it. Consider some of the following career potentials: acting, any of the helping professions, working as a healer, undercover agent, psychologist, or in the arts (music, singing, dancing, painting), psychic channeling, anything connected to the sea, writing novels, or working in the field of chemistry and pharmaceuticals."
Please explain your education, background, desires for vocation, career please??
Saturn is 6' away from MC and this alone shows delays in achievements in career, I have this to. You have a splash configuration
here is my link for analysis..
Jupiter in virgo is in fall (doesn't sit well) and is 7' away from MC. So details, administration, local govenermnt are indicated by MC, jupiter and saturn.
Your quincunx from mercury to moon is explained here.
I look forward to hearing your responses
I have Jupiter in Taurus in the 2nd House and was always told i should be ok with money. Definitely in my earlier years. I do think planets in Taurus can be about physical manifestation, alongside planets in the 2nd house which are also very important. I would say materialism is where there is an over reliance on money and physical goods and a lack of faith or belief in the spiritual or non tangible aspects of the world. Signs probably most susceptible to materialism are the earth signs Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn.
