Philly's Bloody Martian Crimewave

MuMin 06/21 by MuMin

A Jun 19, 2012 frontpage story on the Philadelphia Daily News reads "It's Been Murder: 2012 Shaping Up To Be City's Deadliest In Years" and features numerous stories from beat reporters discussing various aspects of Philly's most recent crimewave, which grimly features a homicide rate that is 23% than this time last year - and with no end in sight.

While reading the reportage was a sad exercise, it, I am also sad to say, wasn't any surprise to this astrologer; for I had long anticipated a spike my hometown's crime rate. Especially when it came to murder.

Mars, the planet of violence, guns, murder and the police, has been in Virgo since Nov 12th of last year, and which will finally conclude on Jul 4th - wrapping up nearly 8 months(!) in the Sign of Virgo.

Which is hugely important to the current discussion, since Philly was "born" with Mars in Virgo.

The above chart reference is based on information found about the City of Philadelphia's entry on Wikipedia (Oct 27, 1682 in Philadelphia); in the absence of a confirmed clocktime, I simply cast the chart for Noon, Local Mean Time, yielding a 14 degree Capricorn Asc, which works for me; Philly is among, if not oldest, American cities - literally, the birthplace of American Democracy itself. What's also very interesting for me about this chart, is the fact that Philly's police force is the oldest (and one of the largest) in the entire country. Philly represent.

But the fact that Philly's experiencing what is essentially a Mars Return has ominous signs for the times ahead; this was my thinking when I was looking over Philly's chart this time last year. So again, it was no surprise that the city's crime and especially homicide rate would rise.

But wait, there's more!-if we take a quick look at Philly's Secondary Progressions (SP) for this year, we find that Mars has moved to 8 Sagittarius - *square the natal position of 7 Virgo*. Which would not only mean that Philly's Mars would in effect re-aggravate its natal position, but that transit Mars would be square the SP Mars as well - most specifically, late Nov 2011; mid-late Mar 2012, when it was retrogade; and again for the better part of May 2012. All of this "Martian aggravation" speaks to Philly's current woes, and as well, to the quote in the Daily News, about Jan being a "particularly bloody month" - which was when Mars went retrograde (Jan 23, to be exact!).

With Mars now primed to go over Philly's late (and Void!) Virgoan Moon in the next week or so, we have to expect that this extended Martian transit will go out, literally, with a bang. The prediction from this astrologer is, sadly, that we can expect more murder and mayhem to hit the headlines as Mars in Virgo 2012, comes to a close.

Mu

The Mars connection for Philedelphia is definitely interesting. I wonder if this peaking of violence is also connected to the Uranus/Pluto square getting closer and closer to exact.

Hi Rothilda,
Yes, the coming Uranus-Pluto square, the former being of course in Aries, will definitely play a role here. There's no exact hits from the big square to Philly's chart at noon, but the big square still carries a lot of weight here.

Thanks for chiming in! Don't be a stranger. :)

Also, Rothilda,
What is also of interest in the horoscope for the City of Brotherly Love is the fact that it contains the following midpoint pictures:

AP(Aries Point)=Mars/Uranus

and...

Mars=Uranus/Pluto(!!!)

Both of these are very, very "hairtrigger" pictures that promise the kinds of activity that we're seeing in my hometown these days...
